Male Halfling Rogue/4

Here it is :)

Joey:

Is Inikai's background okay? I can change it if it is not.

Also, I need to dig out my file on binder's and send it to you. It turns out that I don't have it saved and must recreate it from a paper copy. Naturally, the paper copy is somewhere in my attic.

Male Halfling Rogue/4

Don't worry about getting me that file, I have enough information from the internet and what you have already sent me. Also, the character background is perfect. I will work it into the story's plot with the other members ASAP.

Joey -
So am I to post initiative?
I feel like I missed something in the game thread and it's only been a day since my initial post and spot check.
I know that you are new to this so I thought I would give a bit of advice.
Have everyone post their initiative, create the order, settle the surprise round, then begin combat rounds.
You can have folks post in initiative order or as they are able to post. In the second instance you would have to "work it out" if you choose to do so. In the first instance, players have to wait for the action to reach them. Your decision here.
When folks post attacks, have them post descriptive text, saves, move actions, attack rolls and damage, regardless of actual roll result or potential to strike.
Combat in PlaybyPost is difficult (particularly Attack of Opportunity) but can be fun if all the participants are patient and accommodating.
Don't feel as if you need to rush the process as it may take folks time to write a post. Sometimes they miss the thread entirely.
Why don't you create some sort of convention or standard for us, like the combat order that you would like and the patterns we should follow. We are the players and will follow your lead.
Let us know how often we should be posting, as well.
And don't hesitate to ask us for advice or ideas.
You can always say no! lol
What do you think?

On a related note, I will probably only be able to post once or twice tomorrow. Mondays and Thursdays are tough for me but I will make every effort.

Male Halfling Rogue/4

Alright, from now on, we will do what Leliestraat suggested :) thanks.

You only have to post once a day, but if you can regularly check in throughout the day, the game will move faster.

Male Elf Wizard 1

Sounds cool.
I posted in the game thread, just to catch up.
I'll let you deal the next card and wait for instructions.

Cheers!

ok Lelie basically covered the concerns I had and I'm happy. My main problem was that, given the fact that we're spread across time zones, posting in strict initiative order could have meant single combat rounds taking 2 days to complete.

In my own PbP I'm making all the initiative rolls posting the order and then letting the players post as and when they can and I'm happy to let this happen here if everyone else is in agrement.

M Brownin (Half Pale Skin/Half Dark Skin) Healer 8/Merchant 3

Hey Joey and all, sorry to bust in on your 'private' game post here, but just thought I'd put in this. Your other RotRL pbp that I'm in Joey seems to have stalled...? Perhaps it hasn't and I'm just being impatient (and I Am I Am! I'm jonesing after nearly Two years of no regular D&D play! sniff sniff lol )

SO, with that said, as I notice you folks seem to be off to a great start on Your RotRL pbp, AND as you seem to have little to no healing back-up, I'm willing to offer the services of my 'new' "Wild Druid" if you're willing to bumb it up to five players.

PS I don't know if it's 'unethical' to play the same character in two versions of the same game or not, but I could keep game knowledge separate or just choose one of them if necessary.

What do you all think?

I was wonder what time zones each of us post from. I am in the US eastern zone.

I have no objection.

So far I am having fun playing.

I'm fine with, but let's have a democratic desicion. Five votes in total, one for each player, and one from me (which you have). If you get two more, you're in.

What does the rest of the party think??

PS If you do join, you will have to miss the beginning of this adventure.

I am agreeable also.

(three posts on a Thursday-looks like i contradicted my posts of yesterday)

I'm all in favour off a fifth player.

I'm in the UK currently GMT+1.

And now for some more information on Andrea...

When she turned to Callistra Andrea did something very foolish..she pledged her maidenhood to the goddess as sacrifice for Lamm's demise...now that she has been deprived of her personal vengeance she finds that a Goddess doesn't let go of a bargain lightly..her dreams are haunted by visions of Callistra telling her that she will collect payment.

So Andrea is going to be a favoured soul of Callistra..this means she might be a more 'R' rated character (which was always the intention dont worry I'll keep it clean on sceen)

Male Halfling Rogue/4

Sounds good, Wellard.

Khaladon, I guess you're in, and the services are welcome. Just write up your entrance to the current scene. You will have to go last though (for initiative order)

Thanks for the votes all! Happy to join ya :)

Joey:

Spoiler:

Can you please give my current (and Final?? lol) version of the Wild Druid (what I'm calling it for now) a complete once over and make sure every thing meets with your approval? Please let me know of any changes you want me to make.

Also, did you have a chance to look at the Nature's Rage idea I had? You can see it in the discussion Here if you haven't and want to. It's in the spoiler above which I say "A couple other things I was thinking for the class...". I didn't include it in as I don't want to over-balance the character and wasn't sure if/where to add it. But I'm curious as to your thoughts

Male Halfling Rogue/4

Andrea, just wondering, did you mean to light the grease on fire?

Female Forest Gnome Wild Druid / 9| G AC17, W AC18 H AC17 DW AC21; HP 81/81, CMD 21, F/R/W 10/10/6 **, Percep +11 Low-light & Scent, Init +7

About that, I was wondering, Can a MM start a fire?

I thought that the fire started because the goblin dropped a torch in the grease.

Male Halfling Rogue/4

By MM, I assume you mean Magic Missile. I'm going to say no. I don't think that magic is flammable.

Sovereign Court

Male variable 12th lvl Dm/5th level fanboy/3rd Lvl Pedant

Well the fire was an interesting side effect and one I had never considered as being associated with the spell..but if you think about it the material component if i was using them is a piece of lard..so crispy fried goblin is ok by me

Ali, it might be best if you created a second avatar with the same information and pic(which is cute)..that way you could keep the two games seperate call her ali 2 or something like that

Male Halfling Rogue/4

That's a good idea wellard

Joey:

Spoiler:
If it's Ok with you, and assuming no one else in the party minds, since I am playing Ali elsewhere as well, to mix it up a bit I'd like to swap her with another Wild Druid GalI've drawn up. He is made up with the new Pathfinder Alpha rule set though (it's not that different but it is an improvement over 3.5 IMHO). Please check him out. I haven't filled in his appearance or background story yet but it's pretty much all written, I just have to type it all in. If this idea meets with your approval I will swap him, if not I'll just continue with Ali, no problem. As always, if you have any changes or comments you'd like to make I am open to them

Male Halfling Rogue/4

Go ahead with the new character. Also, I have begun the final product to display to the masses. I will send it to you through email when I am finished. Finished date will probably Monday evening at the latest.

Cool! I appreciate your help as I am definitely not a pdf master. :P

Male Elf Wizard 1

It's been fun!
I am increasingly experiencing difficulty determining my character's position in relation to enemies and items/issues of importance surrounding him in the game. This in turn makes it difficult to then determine range with respect to ranged attacks such as rays, as well as to establish flanking positions and deal with the possibility of Attack of Opportunity, from either side. This makes it difficult to develop strategy and tactics in combat and other actions.
As a result, I am resigning from the game.
With the recent addiction, you have sufficient characters to play without me, I am certain.
I wish you all continued success in the adventure and hope to see you around the boards!
Cheers!

Joey:

Spoiler:
Is it okay for Inikai to have a rented home in Sandpoint, where he lived since arriving with his father. I imagined a small one room house or room within a larger dwelling. He would store books, especially extra copies of the book that contains the seals he needs to draw to summon vestiges, gold and various things.

This would give you the opportunity to create nosy neighbors or ones he cares about. It would also serve as a meeting place or contact point for messages to be left.

Male Halfling Rogue/4

Sounds good Bill

Joey:

Spoiler:
I have a file of homebrewed vestiges that I took from a WoTC thread. They were all critiqued by readers there and I have further edited most of them to reduce their power. If you like I will send it to you. See if you find any of them interesting or appropriate to add to the campaign.

Inikai would not know of any of them. If you want to include any they could be detailed in books spread around the world.

Male Halfling Rogue/4

Sure, go ahead and send them. You have my email. Inikai might happen to find some interesting books during the course of our adventure ;)

Ok with the wizard gone it means that the bulk off the arcane casting burden is going to fall on Andreas shoulders which sort of puts the screws on my plans for the character

I'm also concerned at the lack of a rogue in our little band.So I think we need to seriously think about finding one to join us

And I'd like an xp and treasure accounting please It's been asked for twice in the main thread already

Male Half Elven Wild Druid / 1 XP:1,340/2,000

No, we definitely don't have the typical group set up or dynamic here, do we? lol

But, ya know, call me crazy if you want but I actually kind of like that. I'm sure we've all done a variation of wizard, rogue, cleric and fighter to death. This group feels, and Is different. It should provide some unique challenges and role-playing ability I think...no?

As for Gal, since a few days have gone by, I'll say that he's starting to warm up to his 'new pack' a bit (even though you only have two legs and no fur ;-) So if you haven't yet, you can go ahead and read his background and personality stuff. Not that he'd have been able to communicate his story that clearly at all, but for simplicities sake, we'll just say he did. Of course since He doesn't even know his real background and childhood stuff of course You don't, but we'll just keep all that OOC ;-)

As for what to do? Well, since Gal sucked royal A$$ at really his only means of trying to find out more info, perhaps some of the other more skilled communicators could ask around town and try and find out all info we can about the body that was taken, recent Goblin trouble, and strange, different rumors (other than the ones about Us of course ;)...That kinda stuff.

Also, Joey where Have we been staying? Gal, would almost certainly opt to stay outdoors. One cuz he prefers it, but two cuz he can't afford to stay anywhere else anyway =D

That's all I got. For now anyway...What do the rest of you think?

PS I know we need a spellcaster...but I think Mystic Theurge is pretty cool...maybe it could still work? And is there anyone who would even have the stats to multi-class as a rogue for a level or two? If there's no one else and I can think how to work it in Gal Might be able to do that....

Sovereign Court

Male variable 12th lvl Dm/5th level fanboy/3rd Lvl Pedant

Your right of course we don't have a standard party and a few off the wall class combos might just work,,,aww screw it I'll stick with Plan 'A'. Favoured soul of Callistra and sorceress combined into Mystic theurge and I'll probably risk the arcane failure chance and wear armour(how does beautiful redhead in black leather with a whip sound guys...;-})

Male Halfling Rogue/4

Don't worry about xp. I will tell you when to level up. For gold, if you want to loot the goblins dead bodies, (definetly not worth it) you guys each get 5 gold.

Inikai has a house in town. This could act as a place to meet up, and rest. If he is willing...

...which he is. I already talked to him. :)

I can switch abilities to a certain extent but will never be able to replace a full-fledged caster.

Does anyone here understand the use of untrained skills. Under certain circumstances I am allowed to use skills untrained. Does that mean that I can make rolls for things that usually are restricted to those who have ranks in the relevant skill?

Thanks
