I must have been tired to miss this before now ...

During the Choosing, one of my players drew The Demon's Lantern, which gives her the bonus during "Unnecessary Combat with Guards". The problem is that I was making page notes and cannot find a section that deals with unnecessary combat with guards!

Anyone know where this encounter is supposed to be?

Silver Crusade

Spoiler:
Maybe it's just referring to possible run-ins with the law more criminally-minded PCs may run into. It could also tie into the scrap surrounding Trinia Sabor's escape from execution, though there was probably a card designated for that situation already. I need to check my books again.

Yeah; this is an encounter that isn't in the adventure because it's not supposed to happen... but it still certainly could. An "unnecessary combat with guards" is any battle in which the PC gets in a fight with a Sable Company or Korvosan Guard; again, not something that's likely to happen with most groups, but there are certainly a few locations where the PCs might end up doing just that...

Spoiler:
Particularly if they want to fight guards in order to help Trinia escape, or if they end up fighting guards at the end during the botched execution.

Dark Archive

By the way, how did your Harrowing go, Gamer Girrl? Did you have any other cool cards come up?

Spoiler:
The player who had The Dance got to put it to good use against Chittersnap last night. He was the only victim of the trap door activated by a then-invisible King of Spiders, heheh. The PALADIN ended up with the Demon's Lantern, so... unlikely to be using that one! Other cards gave a bonus to Knivesies, which was handy for our front-line warrior, and the other should be used in combat during the Shingles chase next time around.

The Choosing is cool.

I am already enjoying the Harrowing fun, and definitely looking forward to each one as they come :)

Spoiler:
My quartet of characters received:

The Demon's Lantern (pulled by the priestess of Shelyn, don't think she'll get into beating on guards, but ::shrug::)

The Crows (battle with Vreeg, pulled by our wizard)

The Locksmith (combat with Gaedran Lamm, pulled by the ranger who's true love was killed by Lamm's Thugs, this one should be good <eg>)

The Cricket (non-combat Shingle Chase Checks, pulled by the rogue, who is also a Catspaw Loftie ::laughing::)

So three out of four, highly appropriate :)

For the actual Harrowing, the layout was as follows:

The Wax Works The Rakshasa The Dance
The Tangled Briar The Lost The Survivor
The Tyrant The Queen Mother The Idiot

I love Harrow!

::phew:: Okay, thank you :) I was wondering if it was this, but when I was rereading last night, getting geared up for gaming today, I suddenly panicked, not knowing if I was blind or what :)
