Sinspawn: 4e conversion

Rise of the Runelords

Here's my first attempt at a 4e conversion of the sinspawn.

Sinspawn Level 2 Brute
Medium aberrant humanoid XP 125
Initiative +2 Senses Perception +2; darkvision
HP 44; Bloodied 19
AC 13; Fortitude 14, Reflex 13, Will 13
Immune fear
Speed 6
M Claws (standard; at-will)
+5 vs. AC; 1d0 + 3 damage, and the target is marked until the end of the sinspawn’s next turn.
M Wrathful Bite (standard; recharge 5/6)
+5 vs. AC; 2d10 + 3. If the bite hits, the sinspawn makes a secondary attack against the same target. Secondary attack: +3 vs. Will; the target is dazed (save ends).
Alignment Evil Languages Thassilonian
Skills Stealth +7
Str 13 (+2) Dex 12 (+2) Wis 13 (+2)
Con 14 (+3) Int 10 (+1) Cha 12 (+2)

I went with brute because of the connection to wrath (and favored class barbarian). I used the numbers in the 4e DMG for hp, defenses, attack, and damage values. I kept the 3e sinspawn ability scores and adjusted the defenses accordingly.

I split the wrathful bite effect up into the at-will power and the encounter power, and decreased the damage slightly to compensate. Being marked seemed a useful way to model being overcome with rage. Being dazed is supposed to happen less often, so it made sense to make it a recharge power. Overall the effects are a little less severe in 4e, but the damage is a little higher.

Immunity to mind-affecting effects became immune fear. Spell resistance seems to have gone away entirely in 4e (one option would be to bump the non-AC defenses slightly). Fast healing 1 seemed too trivial to track (regeneration in the 4e MM generally comes in increments of 5).

Let me know what you think!

I like it... I don;t have the books in front of me to check Monster Creation numbers... but i will print this out and take it home to check them.

Very Cool (i might use this in my 4e ROTRL game)

I like it. I did notice that your value for bloodied hp is off though. You wrote 19, and it should be half of the max hp of 44.

Have you run into anyone else doing a 4e conversion? I've been converting creatures mostly into the closest MM creatures I could find, and have some detailed notes for the Burnt Offerings.
