Why is that ever-so-Famous Thread in the D&D group instead of the Off Topic group or somewhere else (dare I say) more appropriate?

-W. E. Ray

Well; haveing been on the thread from the beginning; I can tell you that if you read back and read the whole thing; then you will learn that basically; the thread is a little bit of everything and has been in several different locations and got moved to new places deemed more likely to be appropriate; so basically that animal is like no other and gets shuffled around and we all think that is pretty cool and interesting and downright wild that the thread still exists. For quite a while there it was a redneck thread ;hehe, had us a real thing going where there was a trailer with a porch (uncle cosmo slept underneath it) we had us a pit bbq; some volley balls girls; some hippies down the hill and a stream for them to fall into regularly; and from which I suppose the constant occurance of living dead zombies kept invading; we would get wierd visitors from time to time; the thread is much different now since that kobold lizard guy causes all that ruckus; but when heathy and I get on; its guns; bbq; beer; girls and whatnot; Tegan is a joy on there too and havent seen her around. So basically; that thread is on and off any topic you pick.

"little bit of everything"?? -- Isn't it more like a whole lot of nuthin'?

Don't get me wrong, I've grown in my emotional response to it, from amused disgust to grudging respect to abject fear -- I swear, I wake in a cold sweat some nights from a nightterror I have no recollection of. I know the Untitled Thread is behind it. I. Know. it. I. Know . . .

Nonetheless, I don't think it ought to be in the D&D General Discussion group. I was just wondering why it is.

Inertia.

I blame society.

I've always considered it a strange work of art. But, as in everything, moderation is key. By which I mean... One zany, out of place, bizarre thread is enough.

Ayup.

I thought we wanted less moderation?

Easiest way to ban Mike: Trap me in a pun to which I can’t resist replying. Sigh.

I thought some other moron started it.

Liberty's Edge

Mike McArtor accidentally did, then I responded with a "ayup." or something, then thought it was stupid so deleted it.
So when I was deleting my post, Sebastian had allready chimed in; thus it looked like he started it--something which I periodically break his balse about for entertainment.

I'm actually curious what Mike meant to post there originally.

Liberty's Edge
