AAAAAH! Lilith just ate my eyes!!!

What is a top of the line space game system? (One that Dark Horizons will also support)

I don't know space crunch well at all. Hell, I barely know fantasy crunch.

This keeps from green space chick goodness (and apparantly keeps me from going blind at the same time).

There must be a way I can go blind with green space chicks?

Can anyone recommend some crunch to go with this fluff?

(Right about now I expect to get pulled over by Gary Teter for excessive innuendo, fortunately since Nick Logue is here peddling his products, I'll get off! ;) )

(Damn, did it again.)

D20 Future ain't bad, but I'm a big fan of Bulldogs! by Galileo Games too. Rumor has it they are thinking of doing a 3.75 update to their rules in fact. Some people dig on Mongoose's Traveler as well. True 20 is pretty sleek, and I think they have a Future update do they not?

Anyone else have any faves?

I'm sure I can find a place for emerald-skinned beauties that feast upon the eyes of their prey in Dark Horizons. :D

Awwww yeah you can! The stuff you and other cabbages have turned over for the Gaz is some of the most impressive work I've ever seen, no joke. I can't wait to see the final manuscript!

ICE same company that does Rolemaster, it is their scifi version of their core rules. You know the company I made mentioned of a few times already hoping you get a deal with them. :)

Yeah you know the company where Monte Cook worked for years, you know when the game still sold.

You can't call a book this good a Gazetteer. It's a Multiple Orgazetteer.

Yes well you have all that juicy Asian studies and Hawaiian and Indian references to use instead. I am the guy to go to for useless information like that.

Funny thing is I got into 3.0 because it was all the juicy goodness of the old DnD I remember from my youth and the rules were essentially Rolemaster Light. Which I just loved. yeah you didn't have some of the cool monstrosities, such as Dragons being actually Dragons not just a Cr to overcome. Oh and Crits......nothing like seeing a magic missile Crit kill an Ogre in one shot. Of course Piazo has those wonderful crit decks now so yeah, Fun Fun.

i have been wishing and hoping and wishing some more for some good future support. and now, i have to wait till like...july? i hate it when you tease nick.....i hate it when you tease.

indulgences: a starship creation guide; some sort of planetary coding system, kinda like the original traveler (i havent looked at any modern traveler, so i dont know if that old hexidecimal(sp?) system is still out there)

well, call me crazy, but i want it.

I thought you loved anatomically correct android creation? :p

i know d20 future has some starship creation rules, but with an indulgence, you can get some very "known universe" feel to the ships. with the star drive being specific, weapons, etc.

and thanks nick. i love how responsive you are to fans.

Totally! We need some broke-down, gone-to-seed, Firefly style ship jerry-rigging rules and what not. That would rock! Great suggestion!

I am unfamiliar with the above mentioned game systems. Will it be an easy conversion to the Star Wars saga system?

I imagine so! The D20 Future version should be a easy switcheroo.

Ha! It's true!

Nick,
I think it is awesome that you are writing this to be so open. Are you writing it like some of the systemless settings out there now or are you changing the fluff of the adventure to meet the world's fluff? I am a huge fan of Dawning Star, and I would love to see how you are fitting this in. (In fact I posted this up on blue devil games boards.).

In Dawning Star's case, we'll have the creator of the setting working with us on the adaptation. Same thing with Bulldogs! Our whole plan is great stories for all settings and systems. Leave boundaries behind!!!

Hi donald!

Not done yet! So close though. Need more art for it...then it just needs layout and its ready to go!

In the meantime, an Indulgence called Survey of the Known Universe (a taste of the Gaz, though none of the material in it appears in the Gaz, it is its own special stuffs!) should come out very shortly after Gencon!

You realize that with the stuff going on at WoTC, we are going to be needing a . . . Pathfinder Modern & Pathfinder Future all too soon. :D

We could just add it to Mr. Jacob's task list! :D

i will be getting that indulgence.

Liberty's Edge

I wonder whether Logue would be willing to freelance a Pathfinder Modern and Pathfinder Future?? I'd buy BOTH.

Actually, on another thread related to the topic of Pathfinder Future, I got pointed at this product. Reign of Discordia.

And we should check out some other True20 stuff, like Technothriller for spy games; and Interface-Zero for Cyberpunk.

Interresting stuff!

I'd love to do it. My freelancery time will be whittled down to a minimum for a wee bit sadly. My new post in London will require some serious knuckling down. I'm sure I'll get back on the freelance pony soon though. Rock!

Hey, could we get a revised ETAs on these products? I want the Known Space sourcebook.

You can get a combined book of Books 1-3 of the original edition of Traveller at www.TravellerRPG.com (I think it's about US$12 but the current price will be there) and they have links to the Far Future website where there are other things available. The Mongoose edition of Traveller is now in print but T5 itself is still being worked on and there is no ETA at present (the fan consensus was "take your time and get it right").

I willing to check it out.... even though Nick doesn't know Spacemaster.

His post in London?

Hi Vexer!

The Known Universe Gazeteer should be out by Late October/Early Novemember...I'm mostly just having a hard time tracking down good sci-fi artists, but I finally wrangled some to the stable.

A few Dark Horizons Indulgences (PDFs) are coming out next month as well. One of them is called a Survey of the Known Universe and is a good idea of what kind of material you'll be getting in the bigger Gaz. There is no material crossover between the two (both are all original content). Survey is a good buy if you want to see more of the kind of stuff we'll be doing with the Known Universe and the Dark Horizons line in general.

I picked up me very own copy of Traveler at Gencon UK, so I can offer Traveler versions of all the Dark Horizons stuffs.

I'm moving to London (or 40 minutes outside of it actually), Kruel!

I was hired as the Head of the World Theatre Programme at University of Essex. Life just keeps getting crazier...and awesomer!

Hmm...what's Dawning Star?

Any chance for a Hardnova2 conversion? or a BRP?

Cool beans. I've been thinking of sidestepping the current contentious fragmentation of the D&D fanbase by doing a space opera game, and juicy new support for such might be fun.
