I love you all and the thought that you felt excluded by me only proves the point of my original post.

We are a family, a community and a group of friends. Emotion doesn't come from digits.

I love all of you guys! damn beer...

Thanks, man. :)

I think Paizo is about to have one heckuva big group hug.

Bring it on in!

Frank banned? I don't know how i should feel about this. Can't we all just feel superior and dump all over each other? Or is that against the coc>?

Yeah, that's ridiculous.

Stupidity quotient indeed.

Haha...

*shifty eyes*

*Adjusts monocle*

I believe I can shed some light on that, my good fellow, being something of an amateur Wuvvy observer.

First, Wuvvy appears to love everybody and everything. There is a touch of tragedy in the fact that such a spirit should be embodied in a creature whose appearance is rather comically repellant to many.

Second, Rone and Adam were two of the first people to welcome me warmly and heartily upon my arrival to this island, for which I will be forever grateful, as acts of genuine graciousness are all too rare in these benighted days. And though it may just be a figment of my imagination, I am under the impression that Wuvvy appears to be particularly well-disposed toward those who I look upon favorably, though if this be the case, the reason behind it remains a mystery to me.

*Gazes off into space*

Indeed, there are many things beyond our reckoning in this world...

You know like those old contests where you become the CEO of a mjor coportation, only you don't have any actual power (so it says in the fine print) but they give you prizes?

This is the same thing, only probably without the prizes.

FAKE HEALER, PAIZO CEO OF THE DAY!

I'll second the motion.

Move that the nominations be closed.

If you're down with transactional law specializing in IP, let's go make us some of that there licensing money. Attourneys both need and deserve their own intra-industry humor. I'm seeing us securing your bank's venture capital arm to back just such a merchandising company. I'm seeing us selling brass plaques etched in pithy sayings, cigarette cases, flasks. I'm seeing us getting out quick with a military contract profit before the investors choke on our astounding losses.

Then it's you, me, and boat drinks, Radavel.

I'm very surprised.

That some people are celebrating Frank Trollman's 1 week ban is a little disturbing. Now, I haven't read the sorcerer thread, but I do know that in a thread started by Lich-Loved, a number of Paizo posters began dumping on Frank for things he did not say in that thread. Now, I don't know who started it, but I know that if he did start it, a lot of people sank to his level, and from the look of things, it was a bunch of other people who started it first.

I'm just saying that, sure, I think if he decides to come back he needs to be more polite. But so do a lot of people who were not Frank and are on time out. And so do some people that aren't on time out.

Are you trying to ignite hostilities? No one has discussed the issue for an entire page. Why did you have to bring it up again? What happened to letting this thread die?

I've been here at the Paizo boards for a long time, and I don't believe in off-topic posting. So, when the smurfs show up or three pages of rambling show up, I tend to ignore it. After reading through all of the posts on the subject, I thought I would respond to some of the earlier posts. And personally, I feel that off-topic posts focused on triviality create the perception of celebration where that may not be intended.

I re-read the 8lvl Ftr should not win 50% of the time againt a CR 8 opponent thread before posting as well. Personally, I felt that my post may bring something to the discussion. Feel free to disagree.

Aw, man. Buzzkill.

::puts away his paper party hat and the mint-flavored equine dental dams::

We weren't, as a group, celebrating Frank's banning. Come on. You know that. We were rejoicing in the community's power to stitch wounds shut. And we were also about to bang the life outta this palomino.

I think this thread ran its course. We pried the boards off the doors and windows and started a house party. Everyone is welcome to this party. Even people who want to keep talking about the thread's actual subject. ;) Go right ahead.

Some of us walk into negative situations and find a way to be positive. Unlike those who prefer posts stay on topic, many of us consider a post's tone, and potential to rattle a happy family, far more of an important factor to address than its literal content. Thus, in measured tone, I spoke to, and disagreed with what one poster said about us all being digits, and mentioned Frank's words on another site beign rather insulting. So once having addressed the substance of the thread, I was out 4 cents and had nothing more to say about guys who see a rough, antisocial style as somehow acceptable here on Paizo. That would have been piling on because neither poster addressed or was able to address my thoughts. Fair enough. I'm done. Thanks for letting me opine.

At the point where I've exhausted my legitimate opinion on the matter perhaps some people would like me to shut up and go take a nap. Not going to happen. Sure I'm not everyone's cup of tea. But no one person is, and so I have to be me and get with others who like, or at least accept me for it. Despite not having a gift for crunch I don't go onto crunch threads and tell people they're boring me. There's room for everyone here to do their own thing.

If I, and others always stayed on topic this site would be far less fiesty and free form. It would be a technical manual for crunch discussions, movie reviews, and designated sandbox threads for contained merriment.

KEEP OFF THE GRASS. ENJOY!

I believe it would then lose its ghost in the machine quality which is the very spirit that attracts me to Paizo. The way people shine through their words and leave an impression with me that's true and lasting. I only hope I've helped foster such an environment with my inane ramblings, unguarded emotional honesty, and patience for diff'rent strokes.

Flame wars of the world, I douse you with my golden groin waters... me and mine just found a new thread to party in and we like to move our neverending shindig from thread to thread because we're tangent burning freebirds. That's right, the Off Topics are coming to your town. Hide your women! Vroom Vroom!

If I post here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must talk about my cats, now,
And my fave movies you must see.
But, if I stayed on topic here, dude,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I tell one too many dick jokes,
And this perv you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.

Although Carrol never intended for there to be an answer to this riddle... he, after the fact, created one:

`Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front!'

You're some unbelievably excellent tea yourself, Hatter! ;)

**EDIT** Now wiki-ing this and see that it was done later. Hm. And another answer given is "Poe wrote on both". Interesting stuff...

Here's what I found:

Lewis Carroll himself got bugged about this so much that he was moved to write the following in the preface to the 1896 edition of his book:

Enquiries have been so often addressed to me, as to whether any answer to the Hatter's Riddle can be imagined, that I may as well put on record here what seems to me to be a fairly appropriate answer, viz: `Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front!' This, however, is merely an afterthought; the Riddle, as originally invented, had no answer at all.

Actually... check out

This Site.

That Poe answer is traceable to puzzle maven, Sam Loyd

"What have I got in my pocket?"

What the Jade said.

I'm sorry some people got into a spat and earned a one-week cool-off. Obviously I like for everyone to get along. That said, I don't know if donning sack cloth and ashes or spending the whole week on "us-vs-them" really does them any favors. And is certainly runs counter to what the people footing the bills on these servers want, and since they spend all their time busting their humps to make stuff that lights up my life, what they want counts for a lot in my book.

Sorry if anything I said came off as mocking others' misfortune. But having taking some seriously hard hits to the face with no one to do any hand-holding afterwards, I have to say that being told to chill out for a week by a site admin didn't really register as an occasion for a long period of serious contemplation.

So let me say officially, everyone who got board access suspended for a week, sorry. Hope it didn't have too negative an impact on your life.

Cool. Hey! So this undead and this disturbing customer service doll walk into a joke, and the joketender says....

Doods, I spend a couple of hours putting on a serious face and composing a heartfelt explanation of my philosophy of threadjacking on "Bobby's going to break up with Cindy in the gym in five minutes" posts, and all you can comment on is the "walks into a bar" joke fragment?

*Looks to the skies*

DO YOU SEE WHY I ACT OUT?

;)

It's from a joke I posted in another one of the "ZOMG! SOMEONE ARGUED ON THE INTERNET!" threads. I would link, but then I'd probably have to explain again that my bad jokes are due to lack of wit and self-restraint, and not an innate desire to relish the misery of others. Though I have that too. I just try not to put it in writing.
