Nick,

I apologize if this has been answered already, but if you preorder stuff on your site through PayPal, will it bill right away? I ask because I've already spent my discretionary (gaming) funds for this (next) month but I have an eye on the Ebon Shroud. Thanks.

Sadly it does bill right away! Can't get it to reserve an order without billing, dang thang.

Ebon Shroud will wait for you Prince, fear not! :-)

Silver Crusade

Can we get an estimate on just how sinister these adventures will be, possibly quantified in moustache twirls?

Mikaze wrote:

Well...

Razor Coast is approximately 752 moustache twirls and 54 "MUUUUUUUHAHAHAHAHA"s.

Now with Rich pitching in on Ebon Shroud we are talking 1034 moustache twirls, 67 "MUUUUUUUUHAHAHAHAHA"s and one very Cheshire Cat like evil grin...not to mention, a damsel tied to the train tracks (you decide whether we ravaged her virtue or not...its left up to the imagination, just like in the old time silent films).

Silver Crusade

Sold. Just the right amount. Not too little, not too much.

Unless you're using metric...

Nope...I'd never let the metric system enter into my Sinister figures. :-)

Nick, I was devastated to hear that your "major characters from Sinister Adventures" action figure line got recalled when it came out that each of these toys was actually the shrunken body of a forgotten hair metal band member.

I am positive that my Jacob Razor figure is just a tiny dead Mark Slaughter with pasted-on moustache.

In hindsight, you probably shouldn't have hired a Jivaro clan chief/jazz fan as your head of production.

I had something to say, but....

True 20 pdfs will be offered for every Dark Vista and Dark Horizon. The fun thing is that if you buy one version, you'll get the others free anyways. So buy a print book of True 20 and you'll get the OGL 3.5 compatible as well as Runequest and other systems as I acquire the licenses. If you buy Razor Coast and I get new licenses, I'll do updates of it later and send you copies of those pdfs too.

Thanks! That sounds very cool indeed.

Sorry, last question: will there be a True20 pdf offered for any of the "Indulgences?"

Maybe later, but not at present. I'm looking at the possibility of offering come multi-versions of the Indulgences in the future.

I still hope you can get something worked out with ICE to do Rolemaster and Harp versions. I mentioned you to them on their forum.

I've been getting creamed with work lately Mistress, but as soon as I get a spare moment I'll totally jump on this and see if I can on board with someone over there! Thanks for posting on the forums! Hope some awesome collaboration comes out of it!

Do you sleep?

I thought I remembered hearing that you lived in Jackson Heights and when I used to live there it got noisy sometimes.

So, Nick--since Pett writes for your company, that means he's your bi--- I mean, employee? Right?

No worries, personally i feel that is the biggest thing hurting HARP and RM right now. No adventures for them, makes it require a lot more effort on the part of a GM to run the games. unless they do what I do which is just buy Paizo and other D20 stuff and convert it. But it would sure be easier to have some ready made. :)

Many, many systems! I'm not even kidding! OGL D20 Future for snizzle, but we'll also be doing other versions (not even conversions, full on versions baby!).

Nicolas, have you had a chance to check out the news of the new WotC GSL? Will you be creating a new product line for 4E? Even though I plan to run 4E campaign(s), if your new products, which have to be separate from your OGL/RQ/yaddayadda would be a in great 3.x/PFRPG, I'll do the necessary conversion for such games. Heck, and maybe even post them here at Paizo :)

Awesome!

I'd LOVE to do 4E versions of every mega-adventure (Dark Vistas and Dark Horizons) and if I do, they'll be available for free to anyone who buys ANY version.

However if the GSL doesn't allow this, I can't. If it's possible to put out separate lines under the GSL, I may put out a 32 pager or two intro adventures for 4E. I'll have to wait and see how that rascally GSL shakes out.

Ha! I'll sleep plenty when I'm dead! :-)

Actually, last night I got a solid 12 hours and it was awesome...much needed. I hadn't slept in three days.

Just another pimp.. For those who are timid about checking out another gaming company.. DON'T BE! Go to Sinister Adventures and check out the site! More gaming goodness for 3.5ers! Sci-fi goodies coming up, which is a long time coming I might add.

Not only that! He's recruited some nice writers to help him out!

So check Nick and co's stuff out... Especially the Indulgences! You won't be disappointed. June, July and August are going to have some nice releases from Sinister.. So stop on by and reconnoiter, glance, gaze, take a gander!

Speaking of Indulgences! This month's batch is up!

GET YOU SOME INDULGENCE!

does anyone have the scoop on what is going on at Sinister adventires. I keep checking to see when Razor Coast is coming out and it keeps being 'next month'

Plus the site seems to attract hackers.

can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on with this venture?

Paizo Employee Director of Game Development

Pett captured Nick shortly after his arrival in the UK. Since then he has been trapped in his basement undergoing excruciating experiments. A team to retrieve our fallen companion has been assembled, but we're trying to sell enough work to afford the plane tickets before his mind is totally devoured.

Spoiler:
Sorry about the non-answer. I got nuttin'.

There is a thread in the OTHER RPG forum where Nicholas pops in to sort of answer this question. I think his response is something along the lines of:

His move to the UK combined with lots of work meant that he decided to push the projects back a little to avoid them being rushed. Razor Coast should be first along, and may even be in the next month or two.

Anyway, I too am waiting for Razor Coast, but I want to get a hard copy so will wait for Lulu or Paizo or someone to offer a hard copy.

Correct sir! We've been having some technical difficulties with the site too. And yes, we are apparently hacker-licious! :-)

We're working on getting these things sorted though, so hopefully Razor Coast comes out soon, and then the other projects meandering in limbo can usher towards the light as well. Thanks for your patience lords and ladies.

Nick,

It may be that your opportunity in England was great and all...

But I miss you doing what you do best - writing stuff for me to torture my players with.

More inbred backwoods killing machines.

Thanks for the response Nick. With all the great stuff coming from Paizo I have a steady stream of excellence coming to me so I am happy to wait for the Razor Coast etc.- So from my POV dont rush them, just make them excellent and dont go any more insane due to too much work.

I just wanted to know this stuff hadn't disappeared.

Are you able to give an idea of the current release schedule for 2009?

Contributor

Hi Werecorpse!

Well, I was hoping to have Razor Coast into layout by the first week of January, but the computer I brought with me to Buffalo just went kaput. Sucks. I have backups of everything, but they are in my apartment in London. So, Razor Coast may see another delay. Once Razor Coast gets out, I've got a slew of material that just needs some editing and some art commissioned and then they can go to layout too. Most likely it will look something like this:

Dark Vistas #1: Razor Coast - February/March

Waves of Indulgences - two new waves in March

Known Universe Gaz - Spring

Dark Horizons #1: Cold Black - Spring

Dark Vistas #2: Ebon Shroud - Fall

Dark Vistas #3: The Haunted Hills of Harrowfar - Winter

I hope to be able to stick to that new schedule up top. So frustrated that my laptop went down. I really wanted to get RC into layout next week. Ugh.

Well, now I know when to expect those indulgences ;)

*goes to start preparations for the new year party*

Man my game is just crying for the yoinkalicious bits I know will be contained in Razor Coast. Scribe Nick! Scribe like the wind!

Spoiler:
Here's to a Sinister 2009!

I'm eagerly waiting for it as well - get it out, and I'll buy it!

Arrrgh! I bought me a pre order of Razor Coast months ago! I do hope future delays are short as I am looking forward to this very much! And if you gather all the indulgences into a special companion volume, let us know please! I'd love to use Razor Coast with Freeport and Pathfinder for an extra-special campaign world.

Pirates and all their swashbuckling goodness has been something I have been into for a very long time. Now add in elements that allow me to add in my more recent Tiki obsession as you have done as you have so far whetted my appetite and you have whipped up a mental dish that parts of my mind are salivating for. Which is why I'm glad I have a copy already purchased.

Yeah another one that bought the preorder as soon as it was a option. Still hoping it is soon. Posting here cause well Nick is cursed, I and many others can not log into his site right now.

I blame Rich
