SWEET.

...but what I really want is Mage III, darnit.

I haven't bought a comic in years, but always loved the Hunter Rose Grendel.

Is this a series, mini-series or a one-off?

Greg

Eight issue mini series, currently up to #3.

There was also an issue 0 preview.

Too bad. Don't have the patience for monthlies anymore (still have a stack of Cerebus' still sitting unread). Guess I'll wait for the trade paperback in a year of so...

Greg

I'm enjoying it all right, but I think it'll read better when the whole thing is collected. Still looks great.

What I'm still desperately awaiting is a collection of God and the Devil, the John K. Snyder / Jay Geldhof illustrated run. It's supposed to be collected this year as part of the Grendel 25th Anniversary commemoration. July 2nd, says Wikipedia. Man, I hope so.

Not to start anything but...

Am I the only one bored with rehashing Hunter's origin / stalking someone and then killing them like a shadow, etc.?

I really mean no disrespect, but it just doesn't feel original or interesting anymore...

Yeah, I haven't bought monthlies in years and years. This and Buffy Season 8 got me back into though, but only for those two titles.

At least Behold the Devil is a limited run, and only 8 issues.

Also, thanks for reminding me that some day soon I need to buy the final Cerebus phone book and complete my collection. I really feel that book took a nose dive in the last couple of books, but I need to see all of Cerebus' story. It's a need Sim planted in my brain almost twenty years ago, but it's still there, no matter how much of a douche Sim turned out to be or how much it affected the book.

I'm willing to see where he's going. Wagner has earned that much trust from me over the years.

Personally, I've always been hungry for more Hunter Rose. He's practically the Grendel we know least about. The actual Grendel title never covered Hunter Rose, save for the two stories in between Brian Li Sung and Epi Thatcher. I never read Grendel Tales, so I don't know how often Hunter Rose came up there (I was under the impression that all the Grendel Tales occured after Epi Thatcher/Orion Asante, during the reign of the Grendel Khans).

I always thought Hunter Rose was the least written about Grendel.

Me too. And yes, it is to be released in June, confirmed by Dark Horse and Diana Schutz (Wagner's long time editor).
