What happened to the Second Darkness player's guide? It's not listed anymore.

Your question will be answered later this week, when we make some more new product announcements.

Probably means they were using placeholder art for it originally and now they're releasing it. :)

Could be trying something different with this Player's Guide compare to the last two. Experiment a bit more with it so the old one wasn't suitable anymore.

I suppose I could employ a Caesar shift:

Brxu txhvwlrq zloo eh dqvzhuhg odwhu wklv zhhn, zkhq zh pdnh vrph pruh qhz surgxfw dqqrxqfhphqwv.

Better now?

Not really, for the rest of us at least, you just said the same thing again.

I must admit my curiosity is peaked.

Well, yes, but I did it more cryptically....

-3 on the letter wheel to decode, Vic? (Read B as Y, R as O, X as U, etc.)

Oh, yes. Much better. Thanks! ;-)

I think I have my answer. The player's guide information will now be in the Pathfinder Companion released the same month as the AP.

My assumption is that this is also where the Wormfood/Savage Tidings stuff will go.

Good show, Paizo. I've subscribed already. (Though I will comment that a free palyer's guide still made a useful handout.)

You are correct. And we'll be sending out a free copy of the Second Darkness volume of the Pathfinder Companion along with subscription copies of Pathfinder 13. So you'll be getting 32 pages instead of 16!

Is the new version still going to be 100% player-friendly?

What happens if you subscribe to both? Will you get it twice? Or only once (and for free).

Just one for free, he said in another thread. That was their default assumption of what most people would want.

(There gets to be a lot of threads on any one product these days)

You have to order an additional if you want two copies...

The invisible post bug doesn't help that any. Last night there was a LOT of cross-chatter after the announcements because people couldn't find the answers (they were invisible).

Yeah, I saw that too... Hopefully one day Gary will nail that bug.

That's the plan! :)

No, no, I do just want one copy.

Will there be a free download, like with the previous player's guides? I generally run play-by-post games, and that's the only way I have to get it to my players.

It's not likely.

There's a possibility that AP subscribers won't be getting a PDF when their free copy ships. That said, it was stated they'd like to provide free downloads to these subscribers. But if there's any doubt concerning this situation, there's little hope to see the product available to the general public at no cost.

To be clear, we're shipping a free print edition of Pathfinder Companion: Second Darkness to Pathfinder Adventure Path subscribers along with Pathfinder 13. We have not yet determined if they'll also get a free PDF (but it seems likely).

Pathfinder Companion subscribers most certainly will get a free PDF along with their printed copy.

People who are not subscribers to either the Pathfinder Companion or the Pathfinder Adventure Path will have to pay for the PDF, which will be priced at $6.99.

Oh, well. I wasn't really expecting the PDF to be free, it's just that I've relied on that a lot in my past games, and wanted to know in advance if I'd have to change my strategy in future games.
