Hello there,

It looks like you have a long list of potential candidates at this point, so I'd like to sign as an alternate/standby if you're keeping a list.

I remember the Saltmarsh series of old (in the module) - but I'll admit it's been a long while so my actual knowledge is fuzzy - still it was an interesting game and I enjoyed it. It was a little strange to see they had updated it for the DMG II - its always stuck with me as the classic backwater town.

Anyhow, just wanted to inquire and throw my hat in the ring. Let me know if there's room when its convenient.

I'll put you as alt#1.

dungeonmaster heathy Let Alex Martin(alt#1) take my place, I've got alot a things coming up and I'm in one pbp and it's my first one so perhaps I'll learn the ropes a little more before taking on two pbp.

Snootchy!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Right on. Alex Martin's in. Tobus opted out.

I’ll go rogue if that’s not going to step on your toes creatively Fakey. Kruelaid, feel free to roll with the warrior type, I’ve come up with some good RP ideas for a rogue … depending on what the setting’s like anyway.

If we’re out in the boondocks I might take the wilderness rogue variant.

Ok, one goon coming up.

I so wanted to be apart of this!Heathy...but trying to wrap my head around Mwbeeler's game is enough

I was gonna play a half-orc Scout class from the Complete Adventure...

No peeking, please Rarely Accountant 2/Auditor 4/Waster 30

We are a bit healing-light. That said, a rogue with a good Use Magic Device skill and a wand often suffices.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I might have to dmpc an extremely ecclesiastic windbag of a Cuthbertian Cloistered Cleric.

Male Workaholic, level 10

Just answering Heathy's call now. I'm leaning towards a paladin (or maybe Paladin variant if one strikes). However, if we have enough muscle, I'll opt for cleric or variant of such. It will probably tomorrow - Sunday night maybe - before I get my bearings on what I want. OK?

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

That's cool.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

To Update:

1) Kruelade said "one goon, coming up."
2) Aubrey said dual-wielding halfling barbarian raised by goblins;
3) Mothers said rogue, maybe wilderness rogue
4) Vatters said straight wizard;
5) Alex Martin said paladin or cleric
6) Haven't heard from Ragadolf
7) I emailed Daigle; he sounds in but has stuff to handle
8) Fakey looking at battle sorceror or sorceror/rogue;

Mothers, Kruelade--I'm thinking this run will be a little more on the wilderness/dungeony side than an urban adventure, although Saltmarsh intentionally has many denizens that "need killin'."
Urban rogue sounds cool...

Can I have a dog?

No animal companion nonsense, just a plain old puppy dog. I have ranks in handle animal.

This is purely for roleplaying reasons.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Coitinly! I sense a disturbance in the force when Kruelaid asks for a dog, so I have to say yes.

"Ward ye git, me wee one?"

"Har now wicha, come now!"

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Cool! Where's his dog?!?

Cool character Kruelaid, What kind of puppy dog?

dungeonmaster heathy wrote:

Still thinking about the name.

Tobus Neth wrote:

I'm thinking he's a real loser... the dwarf, not the dog.

Maybe I'll call him Tobus.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

"You're a life saver....I think I'll call you...LIFESAVER!!!"

"You should call that dog....S~*$HEAD!!!"

"HEEEERE, S+%#HEAD!!!"

Rooby-roo?

Heathy, change me to an Evoker/Paragon. We got a full rogue(thank gods), and a couple frontliners, so I am gonna be the mobile artillery blaster mage.
My short-term plan is 1 level of Racial Paragon, 1 level of Evoker, then back to Racial Paragon for the last 2 levels then back to Evoker for the long-haul. So first level is no spellcasting at all...
More Human than Hu-man..

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

To Update (uh-geeyun):

1) Kruelade dwarven fighter with a dog. (stats done).
2) Aubrey said dual-wielding halfling barbarian raised by goblins(stats done).
3) Mothers said human rogue
4) Vatters said straight wizard
5) Alex Martin said paladin or cleric
6) Haven't heard from Ragadolf
7) I emailed Daigle; he sounds in but has stuff to handle
8) Fakey said human evoker/paragon.

I'm not trying to cheese a free animal companion, so the dog is only marginally obedient, and probably comes along just because Stig (Top Gear, anyone?) feeds him and rubs his belly. Tenser is pretty cowardly and does not engage in combat, although he does bark like he's on crack when hell breaks loose.

As far as tracking and guarding, that is entirely up to you Heathy - use him as a plot device as needed. Stig tries time and again to get Tenser to track specific scents but it invariably leads him to a choice squirrel chasing tree or a musty rabbit hole - of course Stig would never admit this and claims his dog is born of a great canine lineage. He has a catalog of excuses that he uses if anyone suggests using the dog to track something. Also, Tenser sleeps deeply and is only a good watchdog if he happens to be awake, provided he's not howling at the moon.

eh, wilderness rogue doesn't thrill me after all; he'll be a town man, but good in a dungeon too I'll wager.

Human rogue, phb standard at this stage.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Right on; updated the roster above for the rogue.

Kruelaid, my wife says you aren't allowed to eat the dog. ;)

Dude, I am just plain great! Of course I can learn wizardry without a teacher, one as intelligent as myself needs just apply himself to do whatever I wish to! I am sure any human could strive to become just like me and push themselves to a higher level by just pushing thier limits.

M Halfling Barbarian 10

Meet Gittik.

Stig's gonna have to keep an eye on that halfling.

In his inventory you'll find a 10' foot rope. That's the leash he uses so the dog doesn't hit the bottom of a pit trap while dungeoneering.

"Stay eway from de wee feller, Tenser, I'm a'tirin' of cuttin' ye from the belly of everthing ye takes te barkin' et!"

Cool. I was thinking...the amulet's a 13 cm in diameter circular bronze coin, about 2 cm thick. There are 5 holes bored through the amulet, about 5 mm in diameter. The amulet has strange writing on it.

The golden lock of hair is braided, about 25 cm, and forms the necklace strap of the amulet.

Right'o - will incorporate into the story.

By the way, is anything stopping me from eating the dog?

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

My wife?

M Halfling Barbarian 10

Heh - I'm too fast. She'll never catch me.

"Must y'always get thuh lahst ward in, Tenser?"
