Another thumbs-up for the APG. While there is a fair amount of stuff in it that I won't use or that doesn't really interest me, it is a very solid effort to tweak already existing classes in interesting ways and add new material without overlapping too much with already established rules.
Also, Altai is leveled. No real differences from level 12 - I rolled 3 new hit points and put skills in the usual spots. My new spells is Prismatic spray and Summon monster VII, which I'll use to summon the biggest dragonflies anyone has ever seen (using roc stats, of course).

So what is everyone’s status post Christmas / New Year period? I think I’m probably pretty much back to normal posting frequency ... well, as much as possible with a 6 week old baby in the house. Things seem to be settling in pretty well and I am either managing to get enough sleep or learning again how to function on not enough. How is everyone else doing? Time-wise, life-wise.
I haven’t seen Shiny or Kruelaid around in a couple of weeks (game-wise anyway). I wonder if Kruel is still having connection issues?

We were tossed out of the hospital after three days (personally I would have liked to stay a day or two more, especially with Erin's blood pressure issues). Her mom came down for a few days and helped us straighten out the house and let us get some sleep. So things feel a bit more under control now.

On my first one, on the drive in, my wife reported that half her vision was gone in both eyes.....i.e. that's a potential sign of a stroke, or not.....but her b.p. was elevated when we got in there iirc systolic (the high number, or pressure at ventricular contraction) was like 170's.
She usually runs so damn low they ask her if she feels at all dizzy.
Ragadolf |
Wow. Good to know my wife's not the only one that's had issues! ;P
I'm getting (Close) to 'normal' again. (Whatever the h@!! THAT means!) :(
But still pretty busy starting up the new semester and all that lovely insanity. I'll be around, but not as chatty as normal for a bit. DOn't know when I'll get to update PC's and such. Probably not till next week!

I don't know whay mothers-in-law get a bad rap - mine was a godsend when we first had James, definitely helped steady the ship. I hope Erin's problems sort themselves out soon. A friend of mine's sister had quite bad preclampsia but her blood pressure got back to normal after the birth quite quickly, so it should be fine soon.
Vattnisse |
Fortunately she's already at the point where she can take less of her BP medication, Another week or so, and she may be off it completely. However, she was at 175/115 when they threw us out of the hospital - scarily high levels, but they didn't care.
And our in-laws have been a huge boon. Erin's mom lived with us the first week and wants to come down every two weekends or so, and now my mom wants to visit for most of March. Good times!
Ragadolf |
Yah,
The one good thing about PRE eclampsia (sp?) is that it pretty much disappears once the baby is born. (NOT a medical person, just my personal experiences!) ;P
My current Mom-in-law, gold. What are the odds of getting one who likes fantasy movies, star trek and star wars as much as I do? :)
My MiL from the previous fiasco? Not so much. ;P
Hm. 50/50. Not bad odds actually,...
Glad yours is working out for you Vatt! Take advantage of it while you can! Your gonna NEED your rest buddy! ;)

Ogay....
I thin Kruely's busy with something;
Elgan's busy and'll level next week;
and
Shiny's been gone for two weeks.
I reckon we can roll on impulse power; or docking thrusters; we'll adjust somehow's....
no hurries, I'm on call next two weekends anyhow's yadda yadda
and I bet ole Vatters over there is at that place where he has to constantly refuse to sit down for more than two minutes or he's out like a light....;)

Dear friends,
I am experiencing a minor life crisis at the moment. One which will require all of my psychic energy to overcome.
I'm not sure if I really have the wherewithal or the motivation to run or participate in pbp for the forseeable few weeks at least. I'm not in a "happy funtime Heathy" mood at the moment.
It's nothing life threatening; it's work stuff.
As such, please let Hudak sneak off with Dravite, let Aleph get a little bit lost in the woods, let Rodergo go in the wilderness to meditate a bit....or npc them; I'm not sure what I'm going to do right now, but I think you guys need to know I'll be taking off for a bit.
I also need to put my pbp on indefinite hiatus.
In a few weeks/month(s) possibly I'll test the waters again and see if it's okay to join back in the revelry, as well as see if we want to continue with the inevitable questing in Asgard......Sigil.....Isle of Dread whathaveyou.
Your friend,
Heath

Hey Heathy, Also sorry to hear that.
I'm glad it's 'only' work, and not something worse. ;P
Keep your chin up! Think Happy Thoughts! (Oh, wait, that's if you want to fly)
Seriously, take care, I hope that you get everything under control sooner rather than later, but either way I await your triumphant return! :D

Hi ho.
I'm doing better.
Won a reprieve from execution, as it were.
I have a lot of work to do though, and I'm at the very beginning again.
I don't know what's going to happen, with one exception.
Al Pacino said life is a game of inches, one wrong step too soon or too late and you lose. One wrong move and you're dead. The inches we need are all around us, and when you add them up at the end of the game, their sum is the difference between winning and losing. Between living and dieing.
The exception is I am going to fight for every inch, claw for every inch, bleed for every inch. Because the m*%*~*#!$! who is willing to die for that inch is going to win the f@+%ing game.
And when it comes down to it, I AM a m~#~~!@&%+~&.
So, I still got some s$&+ to do before I return to the f~$&ing playground, if ever.

Hang in there, Heathy. Hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel.
There is. I just have to make it through the tunnel.
I also might go to accounting school.
They always need accountants.
dungeonmaster heathy |
Ja. True that.
I'm slowly but surely inching my way back from the edge of a cliff to oblivion.
It's just a lot of work, and a lot of storm-and-stress, and a lot of personal change/growth crapola.
The four days of ice and snow Dallas Tx has enjoyed are nothing in comparison, so I'm strangely cheerful as a result of the inclement and (to me growing up in sunny Florida) otherworldly weather.
Ragadolf |
Crawl little inchworm, crawl!
Glad to hear it Heathy.
I know it's nothing compared to what SOME of you guys are used to, but my mom is calling me every day with updates from Tulsa, Oklahoma. So far they have 19 inches of snow, and 2 more coming down today. It's broken every record they had so far.
She's never been so glad to be able to work from home via the interwebs!

And if you are insured, know what your insurance covers.
We’ve just had serious floods here in various parts of the country. Literally tens of thousands of homes and businesses have been flood damaged, many destroyed. And guess what, most insurance policies do not cover flood damage as standard, or there is fine print to distinguish between flooding from different causes (flooding caused by rain in the immediate area as opposed to flooding caused by a river bursting its banks for example), some types are covered some are not.
Between serious floods, bushfires (wild fires) and a cyclone, there are a lot of people in different parts of Australia hurting. I try to keep that in mind when I complain about the recent heat wave we have had in Sydney (at least we have been spared the floods, the cyclone and so far any serious fires).

So,...
Last night,
-Toilet that wouldn't turn off,
-drainage system partially clogged by construction
-entire backstage flooded, starting to enter the stage-Standing in water up to my ankles with 80 kids in expensive Mardi Gras outfits looking for a place to potty,... PRICELESS!
:)
Wonderful.

I think I'm gonna come back around a little more now; I'm through the rapids as it were on this river called life.
Gimme a week or whatever, to read everything and figure out what's going on in the games I play in; I'm aiming to get this thing going again by next weekendish or whatever.
