Eando Pathfinder novel?

Tales

I must admit to really enjoying the short articles in the PAthfinder books. This is the kind of adventure I'd like to see novelised, not every story has to be an epic to save the whole d7mned world. Those plotlines annoy me, actually, with their usual presumptuousness and grandiose pomposity.

High adventure, mystery, survival and discovery are the goods, methinks. Eando has the right stuff for good fiction, and he's not a boring muscle-bound invincible hero who can best everyone and everything in combat.

Therefor I endorse such an endeavor and would gladly purchase such a book from the hand of the current author(s), Mr McArtor (and Mr Sutter?). I thoroughly enjoy the writing style of McArtor, kudos to him.

So lets see this done, Paizo.

sincerely,
Mr Pushy

They seem very interested and I think it was Eric that hinted that he wants to make James find time to write one, what it'll be about, who it'll feature.. who knows. I'm hoping for a trilogy with the original four iconics. :)

Hell Yeah! That would be purchased!

Wait. What? Me?

Um... wow. Thanks dude. You just made my year (on the 11th day into it, no less!). If Paizo asked me to write a novel for them, of course I'd say yes, but I think I'm probably pretty low on that list. *shrug*

I was hoping one of the bosses would chime in.

Yo bosses, here's love for Eando given the current author!

Bah, I want Valeros, Seoni, Kyra, and Merisiel in a trilogy before we start on the next group of Iconics!

I second the notion!

At this point Pathfinder fiction is inevitable.

Its exact form remains elusive. We have a few more Big Decisions to make before we launch another new product line, but we WILL do something on this front!

I realize I'm being a sourpuss, but I'd rather see more classics brought back like Planet Stories is doing than new gamerfic. But I'll give it a shot when you do and see if Paizo can do it better than the dreck that's out there now.

Seconded. And if we get more fiction possibilities, why not a horror novel from Nic Logue? *slobber*

Oh, the two are not mutually exclusive. Anything we do in a Pathfinder line is far more likely to be "rack-sized" and not a part of the Planet Stories line, which will continue on its monthly path as long as it remains profitable.

I would really like to see some fiction with the first four iconics, obviously that's not likely before Curse of The Crimson Throne starts, but I'm in no rush, as long as it has the standard paizo high quality I'll be very happy!

And some snappy dialogue wouldn't go amiss. :D

And who hear wouldn't like to hear a Valeros drunken slur about Seoni's crazy-witch-plots.

Exactly poet!

Thanks for answering, Erik.

...I just read Pathfinder Journal #6: Another home run! I am digging the current authors (McArtor and Sutter) very much. If anything my vote would be for McArtor and Sutter to write Eando and have some other person do the iconics. My personal interest is in the Pathfinder, Eando. He's a better character, so far.

Therefor, let his current minstrels continue his saga, and may Eando never be forced to eat them!

Well if we can't get full length novels, I say anthologies. There's plenty we can learn and enjoy from short stories and it also allows you guys to cover all the iconics in 1 book without putting them all in the same story.

It also allows you to expand some of the backstories of NPCs by writing the story of how they got to where they are before the adventure or even write about what happens to them after the adventure. Like for example, a short story about Nualia covering the years after leaving Sandpoint up to Burnt Offerings would probably be very popular with her fanbase.:)

We get that kind of stuff in the EN World "Story Hour" message board already, Jolly Doc's Savage Tidings is a great example.

Jolly Doc's Savage Tide

Eando's tale is more fiction worthy, methinks. Doing the iconics would perhaps turn out like a campaign journal.
