Sigh. Slip cases again.

Yes, we love the concept ourselves. Unfortunately, they have two big problems. First, they cost a lot more to make than everyone thinks. We've looked, and we can't find anything decent that we could even sell for $10, much less $5 or $3. We're still looking, but our hopes are not high.

Second, shipping is not going to be pleasant. We can't fit them into an envelope, and they don't qualify for bound printed matter rates, so they'd cost a fair bit more than a Pathfinder does to ship. (Even if we included them with a volume of Pathfinder to minimize the *number* of shipments, that package would still cost a lot more than the volume of Pathfinder alone.)

At any rate, we know you want 'em, and we want to give 'em to you, but—as you can see from some of the posters above—when the perceived value of a product is $3–5, and we can't currently figure out how to ship one to you for double that price, it just doesn't seem very likely.

I'd pay the $10, but that's me. Don't know how much higher I'd go, but $10 is still below my limit.

As for shipping, is there any difference if they are shipped flat, with a 'how to fold' instruction sheet inside?

Frankly, having done the 'do-it-yourself' battlemat thing with some software (Dundjinni) particularly, I don't find that there's any software that is easy, quick, comprehensive, or inexpensive.

(Though you might find a few of those traits in any given one)

MapTool

Easy? Check.
Quick? Check.
Comprehensive? Does lighting (including objects that block light), tokens, Fog of War, dice, and GM notes sound comprehensive?
Inexpensive? It's free.

Nope. Flattened, it would be bigger than a book, so it still can't fit in a standard envelope. And even if it could, you *know* it would get bent in half somewhere along the way, so we'd have to box it anyway. And regardless of container, it still wouldn't qualify for Bound Printed Matter rates.
