Now that is a good character background!

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Seelah's background is wonderful! No 'killed an entire giant patrol alone', no wandered the world for twenty years but still only first level type stuff. Just a moving, great way for a character to be inspired and venture out into the world.

Great job!

Wow. I'm moved by Seelah's story. Nice job, guys!

Edit: Also, kudos for making her a woman of color. Too many fantasy archetypes/iconics are put into the WASP mold.

Easily one of my favorite Icons so far. I was a little sad when I read her background. With RotRL being over the half way mark, I'm really getting excited about CotCT.

Yeah I too am impressed with the backstory, art, and the non-traditional nature of her skin color-good work :)

I had to pass it on to my players, my cleric of Iomedae really wants to multi-class or prestige off to paladin. She's a great example.

A paladin, letting a thief go free?! Well now I just don't know what to think! Next thing you know, paladins are going to be drunk in the streets, their belt pouches stuffed to the brim with stolen coins. Stop the madness, paladins are supposed to be the brutally overdone stereotype of lawfulness, not kind and compassionate, SENSIBLE people! Whats next, I ask you?! Rogues that don't steal?! Talking fighters?! Madness, I say!

Thanks Jum for the chuckle... I needed it after biting back the tears after reading Seelah's history. Wow, can you say evocotive? The Battle of Red Hail sounds gripping. I'm loving the History of Golarian and Varisia with every little tidbit leaked out.

First rate, first rate stuff. I love the more flexible, open to interpretation sense of morality in the setting. It's nice to see that while the badguys are in fact black black evil, that good guys can be white good (or even good of color...erhem) without being robots. That good and evil are more matters of heart and conscience and less matters to look up on a table somewhere. Nice.

Good evocative story, and can I chime in that I love that she really feels like a first level character, rather than a tenth level character with a fair amount of "screw it, it's not like she's a real in-game character anyway" needed to justify her starting level. No, there's real depth and moving passion, but it still feels nice and baseline. I love it. Good job, guys.

Good background and awesome armor. :)

This is just brilliant work guys. Seelah is already one of my favorite characters ever. I've even discussed the story with non-gamers today - it's that good.

Meh. It's already been done in Burnt Offerings.

As a WASP I am offended by that. Whats wrong with WASPs? racist.
