Grab the other end of this, Shenker. What the hell am I lugging around some noble s*~#head's luggage for?! F~~* him! You better have a good reason for this, Shenky.

when can I shank this guy?

Aso, without stuttering:

"Walked through the desert
Walked all night
Drank all my water
Got ready to die.

But I got me to Raam
Rolled into town
Staggered to the whorehouse
Threw the coin down!

Too sandy to f$~@!
Too thirsty to f~#@!

Without a word to the templars or the others, Kirrish starts working with the rest of the "citizens", trying to keep the templars between him and the undead. I'm going to try and size up the other press-ganged workers, take a look at this hole blasted in the wall.

Male Thri-kreen Monk 2 (ECL 6)

Ah - I didn't catch that the templar was the, um, newly promoted crew chief. Skarsnikt skitters after Kirrish.

Valegrim wrote:

Sounds good, you can see him just fine now as the sand settles around you.

Kha-Chik runs over to you, inquiring after the whereabouts of the others. She appears much relieved at the approach of Holdrus, and casts about for Radik. Aso trails behind, casting an inquisitive eye at the chest.

Shenker wrote:
"Sorry, General Jingly Jink! Iffin I don't do what Ms. Chicken says, she'll henpeck me for sure. Gotta dip."

“I’m sorry, what language might that be? Do you speak bird, can you translate what this creature might be trying to say?”

As you lift your end of the container, you discover it is indeed quite weighty, perhaps ten or eleven stone.

“A mul!” My goodness, you have excellent taste in friends. Not to worry; rewards all around for strong backs. Careful there! The contents are priceless, without peer.”

Aso wrote:
Aso, without stuttering:

“It talks! My goodness, are you some sort of traveling performance act? I’m afraid I’m only looking for strong backs, little one, the chest is much too…HURK!

The guards whirl as the stout man stumbles. He seems about to say something else, but no sound escapes as his jaw opens and closes. His eyes betray worry, and his neck stretches, folds of collar skin thinning out as his head moves farther and farther upwards. With a hideous tear, the portly gentleman’s head rips free of his body, mouth continuing to open and close, worked like a macabre puppet by the skeletal hand buried where his spine should be.

Behind you, the remaining flesh falls away from the backs of the murdered porters; eyes ablaze with hellish light, the scorned rise with vengeance in their bones.

Six skeletons, should be an easy fight, Init (1d20+5=17)

The kreen descend into the breech, attempting to gauge the capabilities of the assembled workers. Before you is a motley crew of slaves and freeman, working feverishly, half out of pride and worry for the cities defenses, and the other half wishing to avoid the lash, the mines, or worse.

The crew here consists of four bedraggled human slaves (three males and a female), a bald, weather-beaten dwarf, a rough and tumble hairless female mul clad more in tattoos than clothes, and a hefty, pinkish-purple mantis-woman. Not a Thri-Kreen, but a close offshoot, she clacks closed her mandible and casts her antennae downward in joyful greeting at your approach. The pheromones she emits are just…heaven, though the lower creatures wrinkle their tiny pink noses in revulsion.

Zuko wrote:
"Faindrac, let's go."

As you stride at an unruffled pace from the alley behind the sprinting Faindrac, the lead templar waves you over.

“Congratulations citizen; today is your lucky day!”

“That bar has given me a terrific idea. This wall cannot fall, and my presence is required here, so I am going to appoint you a temporary protector of Raam in this time of emergency!”

Digging into his hip pouch, the templar retrieves a handful of wooden tokens. He speaks a few words over them before touching the tokens to his symbol of office, causing them to glow with a soft, pink light.

“Distribute these as you see fit, but take care, while these glow those who wear them speak with an authority that can only be countermanded by a templar or the sorcerer king, Dregoth be praised, so choose wisely.“

“Obviously these deviant undead are entirely unlike our own masterful creations, and they are simply filled with an apathetic hunger that cannot be ignored. Go swiftly, speak in the name of our King, and collect every slave you can. Take freemen as well, if they resist you or force you to break down their doors. Herd as much livestock as you can to the slums, then we will seal off the district. A worthy sacrifice to save the city of creation!”

Seeming to accept Faindraic's shocked Muteness for overwhelming gratitude at being selected personally for such an honor, the templar presses the faintly glowing coins into the tall mind-mages hands, exhorting him to go forth and fulfill his sacred trust.

Faindriac blinks, and looks at the coins in his hand. He places them in his carry bag, and smiles slowly at the templar. Being as this is an unaccustomed act, it looks somewhat pained.

"Of course." He says calmly, seemingly unaware of the rapidly flashing Psicrystal. Zuko has been around Faindriac enough to realize that the crystal's flashes seem somewhat,... frantic. Still smiling his pained smile, Faindriac slowly turns to face Zuko, his back now to the Templar. "In fact, I believe that I know exactly where we can find our first, volunteers, don't you agree Zuko?" He asks calmly, his eyes flicking to indicate the templar, his pained smile fading to his usual grim grin.

Will wait for Zuko, but at this point, with all the excitement, and the blood still pounding in Faindriac's head from his run, he is pretty much only thinking one thing. And with a Psionicist, thinking is doing! ;)

I intend for this templar to go serve his 'god' sooner than he intended! :)

"Ennnn."

Even in the middle of what could be considered a serious crisis, Kirrish is lost for a moment in the female mantis' scent. Lust, homesickness and embarrassment flood through the air around him. Shaking himself, he returns her greeting and starts picking up heavy rocks and other detritus for wall-mending or templar crushing.

Male Thri-kreen Monk 2 (ECL 6)

Skarsnikt waves his antennas excitedly as he approaches the female with small hops. After a quick greeting, he starts dragging rocks around.

well; I am all jazzed up on barkskin and enhanced claw; so I rip into the skellies; to protect my clutch of comrades :) I keep hearding them with words toward our new shelter; and calling out for any of our other companions nearby

do I get two strikes with claws; I forget the 3.5 rules on natural attacks; will just roll them; use one or two if applicable.

attack roll 16 and 13; with BA; str; and magic; +5; so 21 and 18; +2 str +1 magic to damage; so +3.

am trying to find my Dark Sun Dragon to find out how much damage they do; dont have my copy of issue 319 on hand; can somebody remind me the claw damage for is bird types?

gm; you can just roll my damage if you like; no biggie. With Barkskin; my ac should be 21 at the moment.

MalaKi at first follows Skarsnikt towards the breach in the wall. He goes through the motions of helping while watching all that is going on. As Faindriac and Zuko approach he meanders over toward them. Without a word he bows to Faindriac and immediately begins acting as a simple servant. When the templar is otherwise distracted he gives Zuko and Faindriac a side ways smile and a wink. After that he tries to look very busy doing servant type stuff while conveniently finding himself in a flanking position on the lead templar with Zuko (preferred) or Faindriac.

Male Human (Athasian mutant) Psion3/Wiz1

Faindriac looks momentarily askance at Malaki's approach, but quickly accepts the bow as his due. He steps towards MalaKi, placing MalaKi and Zuko at flank with each other on either side of the Templar.

"You!" He commands, pointing at MalaKi. "Will follow me, I have work for you. Master Zuko, Our first proclamation,..." He says, taking a step back, and raising his psicrystal,...

Wanted to make sure we're on the same page, But I'm not going to wait,... ;)

Invisible Castle is down! Oh woe is me! Rolling the 'old fashioned way',...

Faindriac's 'to hit' (Entangling Ectoplasm, Touch attack, NO save, NO power resistance!) roll: 1d20+3=18

Cair D'Niaf flashes brightly, and a small blob of ectoplasm flies from Faindriac's outstretched hand to impact the Templar in the back. The other-dimensional goo instantly expands to engulf the unsuspecting Templar.

"As I hear no protests, I believe we have located our first volunteer to serve the city,..." He says casually, Jerking his thumb over his shoulder to indicate the approaching Storm-dead.

Aso wades into the skeletons without raging, what's the point of getting angry at some crappy skellies he wonders.... And he's just too worn out from the singing and sand. I guess he's still exhausted after blowing his rage on the door, so I'm going with his after rage stats (+6 to hit). And IC is offline so I'm using the bones.

To hit: 2(d20)+6(bonus)=8

Aso's club thuds into the sand beside a skeleton, missing so badly that the creature need not even dodge.

M Human Fighter 3 / Binder 2

As one of the skeletons lurches closer, Radik slams his fists together, then pounces.

He lands directly in front of the skeleton, but instead of lashing out with his iron fists, he stands stock-still. Radik's eyes begin to glow a fiendish violet as veins swell under the skin of his forehead, shoulders, and neck. The violet glow expands to encompass the gladiator's entire body, emitting a low bass hum.

With a mighty roar, Radik releases his hold on the energy. A man-sized mass of pure hate slams into the skeleton with crushing force. Tiny chips of bone fly off the undead creature as it is flung backwards.

Uses Ronove's Far Hand SU ability to bull rush the skeleton; damage: 1d6 + 4 = 9

Kha-Chik-Chik-Ka wrote:

Flying you have two claw attacks for 1d4 each. Grounded you can wield weapons and bite for 1d3 as a secondary.

In Kreen
"Greeting egg-cousin pair! Are you of the same clutch? I seek to renew Tokchak (cluth-mind). I am good with plant many, and can make weapon many with zik-thok."

The kreen female shows you a small stack of three-holed crystalline throwing wedges; Kyorkcha, similar to but more triangular than a Chatkcha.

Zik-thok is a common plant Kreen use to catalyze their poison into the crystal used for weapon and tool making. The process is time consuming and prevents the use of the venomous bite, and is a Kreen secret.

Kha-Chik’s claws scrabble at one of the skeletons, cutting deep grooves into the bone of its skull. While this has little effect overall, it does slow the undead enough for Radik to blast the creature to pieces.

Faindracs mental authority backlashes as the chit in his hand flares, then grows dark, reverting to a simple wooden disc. The psychic goo roots him firmly in place.

The templar makes a heroic attempt not to ridicule Faindrac, instead taking the attack in stride. He claps you on the back and says, “You’d may a fair templar one day, if you live long enough! Seek me out after this is all over with, at Dregoth’s Citadel, perhaps we’ll talk about indoctrinating you into the ranks. Do you...need another marker…perhaps?”

The female Kreen moves several large rocks into the breech as she talks, taking care to time the spaces between the arcing bolts.

She explains to you that she watches over a tiny oasis nearby. As the time of her fertility nears, she became ever more concerned by the expansion of the city and its death worshipers, and decided to investigate this place personally, to determine if there was a way to shield her charge from the grasping gaze of Raam.
