One other question/comment, I forgot to address:

Why not make the rider Avinash's fiendish companion?

It's an interesting idea but mechanically a problem. The DMG stipulates the kinds of fiendish companions you can have, and they're all fiendish animals of one sort or another.

More problematic for Avinash's catspaw strategy is that when a fiendish companion is killed you can't replace it for a year and a day, which would be a lot of enforced downtime in between raising the banner with a new "Avinash."

Finally, of course, since Avinash is stipulated to enjoy corrupting people into serving him as his catspaw, that would sort of take the fun out of it if his rider was just a complete bootlicking yes-man.

That's what followers are for... :)

Hey, dont blame me. Its the Pathfinder format. :) Which is based on the WotC format. Its not "my format."

If you have a better one, we'd love to see it.

It's funny, but that's kind of the spirit of this contest really. "All right, all you gamers out there in gamer-land. You keep saying how you could show us how it's done and do it better. BRING IT ON!"

Not a middle finger challenge, but a "show me what you got, rook" challenge. Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk, get your A-game and bring it downtown! Word!

... and now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

So what you're saying is I should try to make a new Stat Block format?

Meh. I didn't know what was wrong with the MM one.

MM is fine by me, but I understand the desire to try and enable more info and more varied info to go into it. Still, it'd be nice to just have one version and stick with it.

That is completely cool and awesome that you have already worked this into your campaign. I am honored and tickled that you liked him enough to do that and happy that he seems to have worked out well so far, and really that he is working exactly as intended or designed as a villain. I think round 2 is gonna be big fun. Just make sure he's a "horse of a different color" the next time the party meets him. Maybe even a griffon or pegasus. Their fuzzy bunny slippers will run for cover.

By the way, since you are running the campaign and are off SRD, you could add the effect of a Ring of Mind Shielding to his Ring of Chameleon Power for 12K...

The ring of mind shielding effect would work well and make a pretty spiffy ring.

I'm still considering having a half-fiend Worg with levels in ranger (with the wildshape variant) and maybe a level in Master of Many Forms as Avinash's 'half-sibling' I'm also fairly certain Avinash's Succubus mother will make an appearance later on in the campaign. Considering the campaign plot involves Graz'zt making an attempt to pull a prime material plane world into the Abyss, demons feature high in the later parts fo the campaign.

Take that football and run, Michael, run! Sounds like a hell (or abyss, as the case may be) of a campaign. Avinash is a great fit with Graz'zt; very much in keeping with the flavor of that demon lord I think. Half-fiend worg? Yeah, I could see that. Maybe hell hound even, or winter wolf. The possibilities are endless, and each more EWWWWWW than the last.

Bethania could be very interesting to introduce to the campaign. Given her... preferences, obviously she's no ordinary succubus, but just how unusual might she be when your PCs finally meet her in person? It's another potentially cool reveal, once the party has figured out that it's the horse and decide they are going to bring him down, then mom decides to show up, maybe a whole family reunion. It's one thing to finaly tumble to the vicious super-demon horse as the bad guy. But then Bethania shows up and gives a good villian speech and the PCs are like, "What do you mean your SON? The horse? WTF? You're his MOM? OMG, that is just so wrong on so many levels! You are goin' down beyotch!" Priceless.

OOoo! A half-fiend Winter Wolf! That sounds SOO much better. :) I've been thinking on the Succubus and given her proclivities she'd have to be a warped druid of some kind... Hmmm Yeah I gotta think her out now.. In Advanced Bestiary by Green Ronin there's a Quadriped template which has a Quadriped Succubus as the example monster. That might be tailor made for her, toss in a few levels of Fiend of corruption from the Fiend Folio to ensure she has access to human forms as well as animal forms and we're cookin!

I'll let you know what I come up with.

Suspected easter egg spotted in Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting....
P. 249 (rogue's gallery)

Spoiler:
Unbeknownst to all, Stricia is actually a half-orc. A rare birth "defect" left her almost indistinguishable from a human but raised along Belkzen's frontier with Ustalav. She found her true calling in a chance encounter with a mysterious mercenary captain named Avinash, who encouraged her to become a crusader and secretly serve in his mercenary band, the Catspaw Marauders.

Guilty as charged!

Hey, what's the fun of writing stuff if you can't drop in a little something here and there!
