I stand corrected.

I am hoping, now that combat is over, there will be a chance for some character conversation. Salome hasn't really been properly introduced to most of the party, and is probably as curious about their motivations as they are about hers.

Sounds good to me, You know that Sli is ALWAYS up for a little conversation! Hehe,... :D

Congratulations on getting this far. I know this phase of the adventure has been a little slow at times, so thanks for sticking with it. Even it published form, there is sort of an awkward middle chapter between the adrenaline rush of the goblin raid and Ameiko's disappearance. Since that hit us right over the end-of-year holiday season it was a little hard to keep up the pace at times. I think things should be much more downhill from here on out. You have some clues and unfinished business to follow up on, goblins to interrogate, and a chance for the PCs to catch their breath and prepare for what's coming up.

Corran is going to take his leave of the party now and sign on with the Town Guard. If Talion returns, Corran will be able to re-join the party. Also, I hope to hear from PsiFox again very soon, but if we don't Naelah will be recuperating in town for at least a few days, so she is available to re-join, too.

Just a reminder. The sheriff is out of town for another four days or so and most of you can draw 10gp for each of those days. I'm imagining that the party will want to take advantage of that time to heal up, follow up on the recent developments, and perhaps visit the regional market. It will be an opportunity to acquire items that may not normally be available in Sandpoint.

However, in the interest of keeping things moving along, I'd like to handle all business matters in the discussion thread so that we can keep the game thread clear to RP the more important stuff.

I will be able to post some guidelines for what is available at the market tomorrow or Monday.

Hey all, in the interest of keeping the game thread clear, i am reposting Sli's OOC here in the chat thread, see below.

I have our current XP at 2,390, but my math stinks, can somebody check me? I may have missed last Monday,... :P

Sli is looking forward to resting, studying his new (Antique) scroll, going shopping in the bazaar, and maybe trying to cash in some Craft Points with the new system! :D $$$ :D

Repost from IC thread,...

Thanks DM, It works for me! (Though I will admit that in a moment of masochism, I WAS looking forward, (A LITTLE bit!) to having to play a fighting withdrawal with a bunch of injured characters low on spells!) Thanks for making me see reason! ;)

Slidell suggests to Ehlissa (Since she speaks Gobby,) that we interrogate the prisoners before turning them over to the guards. He suggests a game of 'good guard/bad guard' with either Corran or Malcolm as her partner.

Slidell's brilliant brain, (IE=Overactive imagination), is working up another Conspiracy Theory that needs to be unraveled, QUICKLY if he is right! It involves the Town Guard, details to follow. :D

Slidell also suggests that they have the guard station a watch on top of the trapdoor, as there is obviously still something(s) down there! He will spend some time researching both his scroll, and the local records/sage to try and figure out what those things were that we fought. Even if he doesn't find out exactly what they are, (or, ESPECIALLY if he can't find out!) HE is going to suggest that we all head back down, (fully prepared this time) and find/hunt down those things!

See you all on Monday!

It may be the lateness of the hour (after midnight), but I have to ask (insert your best Jerry Seinfeld impression here), "What is it with Slidell and the Town Guard?"

So far, perhaps not the most mutually satisfying of relationships. ;)

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

Let Ehlissa talk to the guards; warrior princess with 16 Cha and all that. ;D

She was all for interrogating gobbos anyway. I think she would just barge in and start bullying them around in a high-handed manner (intimidate check) maybe with someone else there aiding another.

So... there's a market, what sort of things can we find there?

Male Impoverished Student 2/Amateur Chef 3

Works for me, JSL.
I think I've got the cash for a potion of CLW. Can I find one in Sandpoint or the regional market?
I've got XP at 2370. Is that right?
Mal doesn't have much to do so he'll probably spend whatever time we have relaxing, checking up on Ameiko and maybe helping Slidell investigate the tunnels if he chooses to launch an expedition.
How much gold should we have from our retainer fee? I lost track. Just one day right?

Hehee, Just wait till you get a load of his latest conspir,... er, theory! :D

And hey, if nothing else, I'm performing a public service! SOMEbody has to make sure those guys are keeping on their toes! ;P

If they end up chasing me around Sandpoint, at least their getting their exercise too!

Sandpoint on 500gp a day (a shopping guide for adventurers):

Mundane gear: Anything listed in the PHB, including masterwork versions thereof is pretty readily available. The market tends to drive prices down and you have good trade material (the expensive glass goodies), so take a 25% discount on all mundane gear. Also note that I think the costs for masterwork items are kind of silly, so use this instead: mwk weapons are 10x normal cost; masterwork armor/shields are 5x normal cost. If this produces something you think is anomalous, let me know and we'll sort it out. I think it is pretty reasonable for items with base cost less than 75 gp, but it fails with some of the more exotic/expensive weapons and heavier armors.

Potions of cure light wounds: As far as magic items go, these are the most readily available. Salome and Naelah can buy them at cost (25 gp) to a maximum of four each (8 total). The rest of you can buy up to 2 each at regular cost (50 gp). So if the party chooses to max out on clw, you can get a total of 8 + 8 = 16 potions between the 6 of you for a total cost of 600 gp.

Scrolls: Low end scrolls can be obtained fairly readily at the Sandpoint market; however, supply is limited. The spell casters can each find one scroll of a second level spell and up to two scrolls of first level spells. In order to reflect limited availability of the second level scrolls, make a list of three spells and roll a d3 on Invisible Castle. That is the scroll you can buy (you don't have to, though). You can pick one first level scroll from the SRD spell list; but use this method to determine the other if you want two. (2nd level scrolls are at CL 3, DC 13, and cost 150 gp; 1st level scrolls are at CL 1, DC 11, and cost 50 gp).

Potions: Potions of first and second level spells are uncommon, but they can be had. Divine potions are somewhat more common as befits the greater number of useful divine spells that can be made into potions. You can buy a second level divine potion and up to two first level arcane or divine potions. Follow the same method given above for scrolls to determine which potions you can find. (2nd level potions are at CL 3 and cost 300 gp; 1st level potions are at CL 1 and cost 50 gp). Note this applies to oils, etc, too. Costs are based on Cleric and Wizard item creators so if it is a Paladin only spell has an unusual cost component, use the DMG to sort out the cost.

Wondrous Items:Wondrous items with cost up to about 400 gp are routinely available, though again supply is limited. If there is a particular item in the MIC or other source you are looking for, ask me. But in general, you can find items that have a once daily use of a 1st level divine or arcane spell at CL 1 for about 350 gp each. Follow the procedure given above for determining if you can find your first choice of item.

Smart shoppers: Any time you have to roll the d3 to determine if you find what you want, you can attempt a DC 20 Gather Information check. Success allows you to roll twice and take the roll of your choice.

Creating items or getting training: The downtime is a great chance to make that pesky hard-to-find item or hook up with a tutor for a private lesson. I have finalized my rules for this. You each have 6 Craft/Training Points, which you should track on your character sheets.

In general you can afford to create first level potions (cost of 1 point + 25 gp) or scrolls (cost 1/2 point +12 gp). Also, you can afford to purchase skill training up to a +1 bonus (cost 1 point + 50 gp). If you have a relevant item creation feat, you can halve the gp portion of the cost (but not the point portion of the cost). You can also create items at above the default minimum caster level. Note: I think the skill training is probably worth it, since it applies to cross-class skills as well and I know there are a few characters out there who seemingly want to be a little more diverse in their skill sets.

I have a lot of catching up to do, but probably won't be able to post again until Tuesday. Just an FYI to let you know I'm still around though.

Cool, thanks mr. DM!

Let me have a day to digest this, (and see if I have any money left!) and I'll let you know what Sli is looking for,...

great job everybody! Now lets hunt those lil buggers down! Sli is itching to get one of those split-jawed suckers on a dissection slab! ;P

Mal will have to absent himself for the last part. Dissecting a weird split jawed thing is not his idea of a good time.

I thought it sounded fun, at first.
THEN I realized that it would probably be a repeat of that scene in 'Independence Day' when the 'dead' alien woke up on the table! That didn't work out so well for the scientists,...

Dreamer, Keep up the good work! I am enjoying seeing the glimpses of Salome's internal dialogue.
Though I'm just waiting for her to cut loose with the best quote from any 'Arabic' character I've ever seen in a movie.

"You whine like a mule, you are still alive!"

And the quote is from?,...

Spoiler:

'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves', starring Kevin Costner

For those of you who HAVEN'T seen it, I'm gonna go feel all old-ish now,... ;P

I appreciate the compliment.

And you're going to be waiting a long time.

I'm not ready for market day yet; it means doing my homework and figuring out what I actually want to get. (Ugh! I hate shopping for myself!) So I'm going to tie up what loose ends I can for the day's adventuring.

Just for my own reference and to get my bearings, let me see if I have the chronology right:
Day 1: Arrive and meet.
Day 2: Cathedral dedication and goblin attack.
Day 3: "My Dinner with Peacock." (Salome arrives in town.)
Day 4: Graveyard investigation; Sandpoint Heroes deputized by sheriff.
Day 5: Ameiko kidnapped and rescued.
Day 6: Market day/recouperate.

Before heading to the market, I guess we need to figure out how to divvy up the loot. Include Corran or no? Should we have a separate "account" for group purchases (e.g. CLW potions held in common)?

Also, what else is on the group to-do list? I'm curious what the letter Vesh found really says. What other clues/leads are we following at this point?

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

Vesh usuallu divvies up loot, as I recall.

I'd quite like to use some craft/trainng points at some point to somehow 'awaken' the longsword to become even more magical but I'm unsure how to go about doing it ooc. IC Ehlissa would dedicate it to Iomedae or somesuch.

Really desperate to make 3rd level now to write her dramatic entry to paladinhood.

Sadly, there is not much that can be done to the sword in terms of traditional magic item +'s until you are higher level. However, one thing I neglected (or glossed over a bit) in the above discussion of wondrous items is that you could have a power added to an existing item. For example, you could take your sword to Father Zantus, make an offering and participate in a ceremony, etc. (cost 350 gp for Zantus to do all the work) and the sword could deliver a first level spell once per day at CL 1. I think this might be fun and in character with cause fear or doom among others.

I think that Days 1&2 were actually together, everything else sounds about right. Wow, has it only been like 5 days total? It seems like MONTHS! ;P (But in a GOOD way!)

Yeah, I'm going to have to do some careful thinking, even if I have money!
I consider myself pretty creative when it comes to making magic items. But I usually design the 'end product' if you will, I've never built one 'up' from scratch before. We'll see how it goes! At the very least it sounds like I shouldn't have any trouble finding a Masterwork Quarterstaff to start with, if I decide to go that route with the 'basic' mage items.

(Of course, Slidell considers himself ANYthing but 'basic'!)

Hmm,,,, does anybody have any stats/cost on a COLLAPSIBLE staff? :) I heard of them, but never seen them statted/priced. :D

My (fairly new) computer decided to cark it the other day, and I've been spending all my free time running around like a headless chicken trying to get it fix.

Hm, I was thinking Telescoping, but in this world that would have to be a magic staff wouldn't it? (Made with Shrink Item or similar spell- THAT would be cool too!)

Glad to know it's just a blown computer (althuogh that sucks too)rather than a motorcycle accident this time! Glad to have you back PsiFox.
Rags, you could get a magic staff or something that extends when you push a button. My mum's got an umbrella like that. You could craft a veritable swiss-army staff!
I'm a little confused about the timeline and where everybody is in regards to it. What time is it when we leave the Glassworks? When do the interrogators join us at the Rusty Dragon? When do they tell us what we've found? Also, what's done with the goblins?

Hehe, I love it. "Rag's Rod of Magical Usefulness"!!! (Or, 'Sli's Swiss Army Staff', I like that too!) Like the old 1E 'Rod of Lordly Might', every gem button pops out a different magical tool! :D

Actually, my goal is to one day craft a wand like Artax in the 'Nodwick' comic. He took 2 dozen wands that all had 1 charge left, wizard-glued them ALL together, and gave them ALL the same command word.
It was "ABRACAPOCALYPSE"!!!
UNfortunatly, the demon had magic resistance. Fortunately, it took a while to climb out of the hole Artax made. :D

ANYway, timeline. We weren't IN the Glassworks THAT long, I'm guessing it's early evening by time we're done interrogating the lil blighters. I'm sure that AFTER we got the useful info out of them, we can turn them over to the guard. (And I for one want to see the looks on the faces of both that seargent with the stick up his ***, and the hard-to-find second in command when we march them in there!)

I'm guessing that once again we receive some notoriety, after all, we just defeated another group of Goblins, (Even if Tsuto got away, for now,...) Rescued Ameiko, revealed that Tsuto was/is the traitor inside the town that let them in, and revealed the presence of another evil under the town. (If they are smart, they'll 'request' (IE=Insist) that we 'go back down and check it out') ;P

In the interest of keeping the story moving, (we did bog down a lil bit over the holidays) I'm sure our evilly cooperative DM would be glad to 'fast forward' us along after we tell him what we're doing with our down time!

Day 5 (or however you count it) summary and timeline:

MORNING
At the White Deer:
• Slidell mistakes Salome for Naelah.
• Ehlissa is sick and requires a day's bedrest (but only ends up with half).
At the Rusty Dragon:
• Vesh is hungover.
• Chaos at breakfast
NOONTIME
• Discover that Ameiko is missing.
• Shayliss and guard complicate Vesh & Malcolm's investigation.
• Slidell offends the guard.
MID-AFTERNOON
• "Hours" in the brig.
• Ehlissa and Salome meet Vesh & Bethana at Rusty Dragon
• Vesh interviews Bethana (p. 14); Salome heals her.
LATE AFTERNOON
• Sign affidavits
SUNSET
• Approach KGW
• Discover Veren
• Fight goblins (3-4 rounds)
• Booby-trapped broom closet
• Reunion with Naelah
• Trek thru tunnel
• Fight Thing 1 and Thing 2 Cat in the Hat escapes
AFTER NIGHTFALL
• First aid and slow return to Rusty Dragon
• Dinner crowd has mostly dissipated by the time everyone gets back.

I propose that, in order to get on the same page, everyone who hasn't yet post the way they end this busy day, and, if desired, their actions for the beginning of the next morning (Salome has to go to the cathedral; people will likely talk over breakfast) and then when JSL describes the setting of market day, we'll all start at that hour of the next day ("Day 6").

I don't want to fast-forward the role-playing part too much yet. Vesh and Naelah are still injured and need to recouperate; technically Ehlissa is still recovering from tetanus; and Salome still doesn't know what's going on with these people (I don't think she even knows Malcolm's name yet). And I think that I've lost track of half of the clues; Day 6 dinner might be a good time for "OK, so what do we know?"

Just my two cents.

BTW, glad to have you back PsiFox. Sorry Naelah nearly died again, but she'll be OK! ;)

I am assuming it is mid- to late evening by the time everyone gets back to the Rusty Dragon. The sun was definitely on its way down when you arrived there. Even if the "adventuring" part went by in a handfull of 6-second rounds, there was no doubt a fair amount of conversation and preparation along the way. Even on the way back out, you would have had to stop to assist Ameiko and the other walking wounded a number of times.

One of the two things I've decided I really hate about 3.5E is their treatment of time. If someone wanted to be a rules lawyer about it, they could make a compelling argument that in the 7 minutes since I sat down at this computer, the PCs could have accomplished everything that happend from the moment they left the Rusty Dragon to go to the glassworks to the moment they walked back in the door. I'm not buying it. :)

As far as moving forward, that will be at your own pace more or less. Even if the cleric types use all of their spell slots to cast cure spells on the injured, it will be at least one full day before everyone is at full hp. And then another night for the clerics to get their spells back - and they might not want to go and do crazy things without a day's worth of spells at the ready, just like the warriors might not want to get out of bed until they have some hps. Vesh could be killed by the next mosquito that bites him ;)

What I suggest is that if you want to do something, post to that effect in very absolute terms. "I am going to..." If other people want to do that, too, they can say "I'm going with...". Otherwise, we'll be here for a long time with "What do you want to do?" "I don't know, what do you want to do?" "Now don't start that again!"

The market will last a couple of days (people don't come all the way from Korvosa for a one day market) so you are not going to miss the chance to buy something if you don't get there at 4AM tomorrow. Additionally, you can be fairly certain that no one is going to unexpectedly go snooping around the glassworks - unless of course, they hear about it from one of you. Remember, Lonjiku has probably been dead since before the Festival and no one's gone looking for him yet. They aren't all of a sudden going to start. Basically, what I'm trying to say is make the best use of the downtime that you can. It is a good time for solving mysteries, buying gear, and wrapping up loose ends. To the extent that people post "do" statements in the IC thread, things will get done.

Oh, as for the goblins: until someone does something with them, I'm assuming they are with you. And they're probably whining incessantly unless you share some dinner with them.

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

I'm going to:

Hand the gobbos over to the guards and let them know what we found.

Talk to Father Zantus about enchanting my sword. Although... I'm afraid in my absence not only have I lost track of how much XP we all have but how much money as well. I don't think everyone else will chip in to help Ehlissa enchant a sword.

Darn my lousy short-term memory!

How many XP did we get for surviving to yesterday? (Monday?)

:)

Hi all,

I'm just now catching up with this thread, and will move on to posting IC before noon at some point. I like JSL's idea of having characters write what they want to do in the game thread. I also like what Fabes did in writing his intentions for Ehlissa in this thread. To the extent that groups of characters can do things together, I think that we should. In the vein, here's what I'd like for Vesh during this downtime:

1. Rest and recuperate.
2. Help Slidell solve some mysteries.
3. Get the loot divided (if it hasn't been already)
4. Get together with the party for a number of reasons:
--Mystery "lump and dump" session; I'm losing sight of the prize, and I think the party has some loose ends to wrap up (as JSL indicated). I just can't remember all of them.
--More roleplaying; I want to see some character back stories come out
--Give more of a chance for Naelah and Salome to RP and become (re)integrated with the group.
5. Spend some money:
--Get the +1 arrows resized
--Get a masterwork comp. short bow (for a +1 Strength bonus) if possible.

That's generally what I'd like Vesh to be doing. I've got more on my mind, especially regarding Corran's exit, but I'll go read the game thread first.

FabesMinis wrote:

I think Vesh, Slidell, and Malcolm have been keeping the XP fairly up-to-date in their profiles. They should all have the same as Ehlissa.

As for money, I can tell you what you have received, but not what you might have started with or spent.

The original 6 got 150 gp each from the Mayor as a reward. They then sold some goblin gear through Malcolm for a total of 300 gp (50 each). Except Naelah, who refused deputization, they have drawn two days' pay from the town for 20 gp each and have a few more days coming. So that puts Naelah at 200 gp and the others at 220.

The glass goodies were worth 3,500 and you can assume that you liquidate your share as soon as you go to the market for something. Divided 7 ways, that is 500 each. That is assuming Corran accepts a share (I suppose that is the fairest) and that you don't keep a "community chest" or hold any gear in common. I have noticed that other groups are pooling resources for healing and buffing purchases, but that is a decision you have to make for this group.

As far as expenses, I know that Ehlissa bought a nice outfit, Vesh bought thieves tools, Malcolm bought armor, and Slidell bought some scrolls and potions.

To the extent possible, I'd appreciate it if haggling over financial details can remain in this thread until there is resolution, then necessary RP action can be taken. Otherwise, it might take awhile just to RP the characters into the same room to have the discussion.

As of a week ago monday, Vesh had 2020 xp. I'm almost positive that total includes the gobbo fight. So, add 170 for fighting the Seuss brothers, 300 story award, and 100 for yesterday (Feb. 11), and I think Vesh is up to 2590.

JSL wrote:

Vesh did not take a share of the loot. So the five others get 60gp each and Vesh gets the two +1 arrows.

I think Corran should leave with a share. I also think that we should have a community chest for healing, but I tend not to be the best person for determining how much since prices for magic items is not my strong point.

Agreed.

Salome's intentions:
TODAY (in game-time)
1. Re-up healing spells at temple
2. Do "rounds" at Rusty Dragon (Healing is maximized; that's 11HP/patient. Does anyone want to come along to interview Ameiko and/or Naelah?)
3. Explore (but not buy yet) market/town.
4. Meet for dinner and discuss who's who/clues/plans/etc. as per santinj@'s post.

TOMORROW (i.g.t.)
1. More spells
2. Market
3. I don't know what else yet

JSL: I just did the math on a masterwork composite shortbow for use by someone with a +1 STR bonus. New method = 825gp. Old Method = 450gp. Are we able to close that gap for Vesh at all?

We also need to decide how we're going to split non-monetary loot. Last time Vesh didn't take a share of cash but got the +1 arrows. I don't want to screw Malcolm out of his share of the cash, but how are we valuing Tsuto's sword in all this?

Vesh and Salome are heading to Naelah's room. Maybe breakfast can be brought up. Are we going to meet anyone else on the way or already there?

Yeah, I saw that problem when I came up with the method. The price of a composite shortbow is too high. Look at the difference between a longbow and a composite longbow - only 33%. How is it that a comp. S. bow is 150% more. Let's use the 33% premium to get the comp. shortbow up to 40 gp. Also, why bother with a composite bow with +0 strength modifier? Let's have that 40 gp bow have a +1 strength modifier. Thus a mwk. composite shortbow (+1 Str.) is 400 gp. For each additional +1 Str. add 100 gp as per the standard rules. However, since there is a 20% discount at the market, you can pick one up for 320 gp.

As an aside, I would like to come up with a sliding scale where starting at about 30 gp, the price of masterwork weapons goes from a 10x premium to more like a 5x premium at 100+ gp. Under this method, the mwk. composite shortbow would have a multiplier of 9.2x for a price of 370 gp.

The sword is worth 100 gp new.

Thanks. This sounds good. I will spend the money and add the equipment on my character sheet. The bow for 320gp and the arrows-resizing for 58pg. You'll see the changes on my character sheet, and we can RP the purchases (or not) over the next couple IG days as you see fit.

Edit: and add a masterwork short sword for 100gp. Or is it 80 at the market?

If that's the case, perhaps we should just call it a wash or something. It's not all that much money.

Another proposal is this: we could all chip in 100 gp for community magic/healing, etc. Perhaps Malcolm could chip an additional 50 or 100 gp for keeping the sword? That would give the six of us 650-700 gp to buy magic/healing for the group. How does that sound?

If 100 gp prevents someone from buying a masterwork weapon or armor or doing something else really cool for their character that would also benefit the group (like expensive armor for Ehlissa or something), I guess we could lower the ante.

As an aside, I'm on the road all day tomorrow, so I likely won't post again until Wednesday. But we'll see.

Spoiler:

I was wanting to write at least a minimal exit for Corran. Perhaps less emotional than Naelah's exit, but at least something in the game thread more satisfying than having him disappear to walk the walls. Perhaps he could join them for that dinner at the Rusty Dragon to explain to the group why he is leaving, collect his share, and then (if you think this is appropriate) drop a hint that might be useful to the party about Horatio. Perhaps something that could jar Vesh's memory? What do you think?

Sorry so silent on the post-er end lately. (Not trying to scare ya!, The last time I was silent for a day there was a rumor I had spent 24 hours typing the next post!) But I'm actually having to do some WORK at work. Go figure. :P

SO, IC the next time I get a chance to write a novel, (just kidding!,... mostly.) But here is SLidell's plan for the next day/today/whatever. (This gets confusing,...)

-Exit the glassworks, drop off Goblins, See Ameiko safely home. (Done)
-gather for a nightcap with the others, and either pass out at the table, or more likely run upstairs with a half-baked idea for a new spell, and pass out before he gets his hat and boots off.
-Spend some Quality IC chat time with his new friends over breakfast, or lunch, or afternoon tea,... did I mention that the skinny guy likes to eat? (Don't you hate that?!?) And hopefully learn some things,...
-Slidell is injured from the bite he received. While he is 1/3 down on HP, part of him wants to ignore it, (the other part wants to cry), but he may still have aftereffects of the poison,... ;) (2 days of rest, or a day of rest and a couple of CMW and he'd be good as new)
-TALK TO VESH! (And Malcolm and the others) It's time to re-hash what they HAVE solved, (I promise not to take up TOO much time on the obvious), and remember what they HAVEN'T solved, and what new mysteries they now have.
-@Santinj~ Great job on the dream sequence, very disjointed. PLEASE mention it IC! It is the perfect springboard for Sli's newest consp,... er, theory! :)

-Shopping, Sli doesn't have a clue what he wants (Because I don't have a clue!) I'm used to finding new and unusual ways to use the magic items I find, not building my own from scratch. So I'm working on it! :D

Let's start with the basics, a Masterwork Quarterstaff, (that'll get me a +1 to hit with the silly thing!) That way I can enchant it later. I would LOVE to end up with something similar to the magic charm bracelet I've seen in the MIC or somewhere, where you can trade a staff for a crossbow or a sword by touching the charm. (A Little high level yet)

Since I've made such a big deal of his hat, cloak and staff, I'm thinking those may become his 'trademark items'. He may end up with several of each, each of which do different things. I would like for his staff to be made permanent with 'Shrink Item' so he can put it in his pocket to carry, and pull out to full size when needed. (Collapsible staff) Instead of enchanting the cloak (at first) I'll probably start with a cloak pin that does SHIELD or PROT vs EVIL 1/day, or buy an expensive (masterwork) hat and enchant it to cast charm person when I tip the brim 1/day.

OK! The creative juices are flowing! It MUST be bedtime! YEP! That explains it! I always get my best ideas right when I'm about to pass out! (That explains a lot of my late-night posts!)

@JSL~ If you'd be so kind as to double check the prices of a masterwork staff, a cloak pin/holy symbol, and a 'masterwork' cloak and/or hat for me, (And the prices to 'enchant' the items to do a 1 lvl spell 1/day) I'll do the Invis Castle shuffle and see what I 'find' to make. (Thank you!)

Thank you so much! I go pass out now. (Believe me, you do NOT want me to write a Slidell post in the sleep-starved, adrenalin-fueled mood I'm in now!) ;P

NIght all, keep up the great work, see you all in 8 hours!

Vesh:

Spoiler:

I'm fine with Corran joining the PCs for dinner. Here is something about Horatio from Corran's first day at work: Corran spent the day at the market leading a patrol of four men stationed near the perimeter of the market. They were constantly on the lookout for goblins or others. He mentioned to one of the men that he had gone to the garrison to give a statement the other day, but Lt. Horatio was not present and was wondering if he was okay. The soldier replied, off the record, that Horatio has only been a member of the town guard for about a month and is often dispatched on special assignments. Apparently, he has some experience dealing with Sczarni (Varisian mob) in Riddleport and the Sheriff hired him to help root out Sczarni in Sandpoint. At least that is what the men have been told. Since Vesh ran with the wrong crowd in Riddleport, he likely draws the obvious connection, but does not specifically remember encountering Horatio there.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Knight 1/Fighter 1/Paladin 1 (2)

Ehlissa will feel bad about asking Naelah to go on a nature hunt, and will not want to be burdened with wealth so she'll buy the gold bars.

She will probably also sell the nice item, as she is somehwat ashamed of showing off so much.

I'm good with pitching in to a community pot for healing items, I'm sure i'll need them almost as much as the warriors! (maybe more!, I have less HP!) Just let me know what the total 'ante in' should be, so I can subtract it from my sheet. (I haven't added the GP from the glass 'sale' yet, there seems to be some confusion as to how much we get.) I'm also good for Corran getting his share, even if he is leaving. (And I hope he gets to return!) So does that leave us with 500 GP each from the glass?

@JSL~ Sorry about the last lightning winded post, i was tired! Instead of asking you to come up with ALL 3 prices, would you like me to just do the 'castle shuffle' and see what's available? THEN ask you to verify the price? :)

I think (Because I don't really recall) that I was asking because I have no basis for anything to price a 'masterwork' article of clothing on. Though for a brooch/cloak pin, (especially one I intend to enchant with a defensive spell like shield or Prot vs Evil) I think a 'masterwork' holy symbol would be a good place to start?

Should be able to post IC this afternoon or tonight.

Later all!

A small piece of fine gold jewelry probably runs 50-75 gp. If you want gems on it or anything like that, I suggest looking up the price of the gems in the DMG and adding them in directly. In general a 1st-level 1/day item will run you about 300-400 gp. 350 is the "base cost", but "harmless" enchantments should be a little cheaper and enchantments that do damage without allowing a save should be a little more expensive.

A masterwork staff will run 10 gp (I know, very cheap for masterwork, but come on - it's a stick!)

For clothing, I'd assume any individual item of clothing costs from 10-25% of the price of a noble's outfit.

I think I said earlier that if the party maxed out on clw potions it would be 600 gp for 16 potions.

Help me with my math, 'cause my math can be downright obscene. Anyway, each CLW potion then costs 37.5 gp, right? If the six of us spend 75gp each, the group will get 12 CLW potions. Two for each of us. The remaining 25gp each (or 150gp for the group) could then be spent on some sort of buffing item (potion or otherwise). What says the group?

Okay...now I'm leaving. For reals! See you tomorrow. Or much later today. Maybe.

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

Have updated money and XP on sheet. When I said 'nice item' above, I meant 'nice outfit'.

Ehlissa will spend 200gp on the gold bars and invite Vesh along for the ceremony.

OK! Finally got to do an IC post! (YAY!) More to come! (eventually)

I plan to post an interesting tidbit to get him down stairs and see Salome and Vesh before they take off. HE may or may not accompany them. We'll see how he feels. :)

Out of curiousity, Rags, where are you going with this? Would you like everyone else to play along, or just offer natural reactions in character?

BOth, either, whatever. ;)

Seriously (for me), At first I just was trying to get everybody a glimpse of Sli's internal workings, as so many of you others are doing so well at!

With the entrance, well, just mainly trying to get back into character after almost a week of no serious posting for me!

Consider this, He took what was mainly a scratch to anyone but a mage, and was poisoned to boot. But he knew that there were others in worse shape than him, and that we were low on heals, and was saving his CLW potion in case someone else needed it more! (He's a bit more generous in nature than I am in RL, I would have been saving it for ME!)

So, no need to RP a week long recuperation. ;P
Just getting back involved with everyone, and giving others something to think about.
(Did he not ask for help because he didn't want to be a bother? Because he is too proud? Or did he just not think of it because he was too busy trying to ID the new critters?!?)

That's all, Game on! :D
