Just as the thread title says... Are the Tatzlworms described in D0 (and also the Slurks in D1) found in Varisia?
If I remember correctly (I'm at work right now so can't look it up) weren't Slurks the result of some experiment or something? that would make them less likely to be in Varisia, unless they were brought over to the lab from D2....

They can be if you want them there, of course, but my thinking is that they're not native to the region. There'd have to be a reason why one might encounter one if someone wanted to put one into a Runelords adventure, for example.
Same with slurks. And, to be honest, same with kobolds.

Cool, thanks for the reply. I'm kicking around ideas for homebrewed adventures in Varisia, and I really like tatzlworms. The one in D0 greatly annoyed my players with its grappling ability :)
where did *my* reply go? can anyone see the reply that I did before James? *pouts* and I had the right answer too

You could have a noble buy the wyrm from a black market smuggler as a new creature to hunt. The wyrm proves too much for the nobles hunting party, and is not running loose in the noble's province killing commoners. The noble hires the party as a way to get rid of the monster and make himself look the hero for getting rid of the creature. Maybe after the PCs have taken care of the wyrm the noble tries to "off" them so he can take full credit or remove witnesses.
