Goblin song in play

Rise of the Runelords

We played the opened scene from part 1 last night. I used the song sung by the gemlins from the movie Gremlins as the unnamed catchy goblin tune. My players loved it and started singing along until the horror stuff kicked in. It was a great way to start a new campaign.

I recommend using the Gremlins song if any of your players have seen the movie. It helped make the game both funny and scary at the same time.

At a suggestion in the Music for Pathfinder thread, I used the opening theme to Beetlejuice, which I thought was delightfully perfect. That along with singing the words to the theme of the goblin song in the cartoon Hobbit, when the dwarves are captured.

The gremlins song? I can't remember this. Is there a clip of it somewhere you know of?

This isn't that song, but is about as freaky as any I've heard

Gremlins

Here's a video with the entire theme from Gremlins. It's a Harry Potter video for some reason, but the sound is nothing but the theme, so you can hear it clearly.

And I agree that this is the perfect goblin tune. Now we just need some disturbing lyrics to go with it. :)

so... did the gremlins sing to that theme song?
The only time I remember gremlins singing was the Christmas carolers and of course the brainy gremlin singing "New York, New York" in Gremlins 2.

Doppelganger...?

Oh, the Gremlins ... malevolent pint-sized sunlight-soluble bundles of ravenous ferocity ... a good match indeed.

The goblin songs that have been written up thusfar are a riot - in some cases a bit disturbing - and do greatly add to the 'flavor' of the little buggers.

Things are always better when pint-size evil has a sense of humor ;-)

Yoink!

Running this tonight (assuming we get as far as the goblin fight).

I was originally thinking of saying two lines in every round of combat, rather than sing the whole thing at once. With the Gremlins theme song, I'd need to sing at least four lines at a time though.

And an axe, er ... dogslicer, of course.

Try putting the goblin song's lyrics into this site's demo tool: http://www.sitepal.com/

I have found this voice called Claire and her voice seems to catch the feeling of the goblins. If I will have time I will throw this sample into Sound Forge and make it sound more rythmic and goblinlike. Please post the result if anybody else tries it first :)

I used the MP3 from the page, stupid computer wasn't looping it.

They switched to "The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire." When the party blew up the wagon the goblin was chucking bottles of alcohol from.

Story: Goblin jumps up on wagon, starts chucking bottles at the party. Hits the spellstalker, breaks the bottle, soaking him in Whiskey. Cleric casts cause fear on the goblin standing on the wagon. Goblin dtops torch...

Check out this thread for a MP3 of the song created by PandaGaki and his wife. Pretty cool.
