Pathfinder's Journal???

Rise of the Runelords

So far I couldn't resist printing out the PDF and reading it even though I have the mag coming in a couple days...lol. Anyways, I read the Pathfinder's Journal entry and I am wondering what's the intention for this information.

Am I supposed to have the society contact the PC's and try to inculcate them into the Pathfinder society?

Will a later AP book deal with the Pathfinders?

Will they meet up with the Pathfinders in Magnimar and "work" for them later in the AP?

Just seemed a like a cool organization and was wondering if they're going to officially be integrated into the campaign or if I have to do that myself?

I even thought of all the PC's being Pathfinders and hearing rumors of strange happenings "unpleasentness" going on in Sandpoint and being sent to investigate...will this ruin a further Pathfinder plot already in the works?

thanks

oops, I didn't see the other Pathfinder thread, but since that thread had no relevant information on the Pathfinder society and was hijacked into future Affiliation rules, maybe someone can shed some light on this issue? Is this the last offical source material of the Pathfinder Society or will they make an appearance in a later volume?

As I understand it Pathfinder society is more for the DM, to give some flavor to the reading as if the GM was a player himself. They are the explorers and chroniclers of this world that documented all they saw. As it is they are probably not that all involved with the adventures or adventurers themselves. And if you wish to have the players come into contact with the Pathfinder society then I suspect you will have to insert it yourself. As of now I do not really know just how well known they are.

Yup; the Pathfinders are a tool for you to use as you see fit. They can be allies or villains. In Pathfinder itself, they'll more or less be limited to the Pathfinder's Journal section, which will chronicle the adventures of one of their number in the form of a campaign journal-type way, with regular sidebars that talk about in-game stuff. They won't be playing big parts in the adventure paths themselves, so yup; use them as you wish!

They are probably like most of my gaming group. When we meet on 6 pm on a Wednesday night I have to call and wake them half an hour before we begin, because they got to bed at 4 pm. I don't know how they do it, but I wan't to know the secret :p
