If you really want to fit in you should start a thread about how evil WotC is, or about how there's is no room at all for 4th edition.

Say that you heard from a friend of a friend that they will launch 4th ed. at Gencon.

Greetings Alien Spawn! And a far too belated greetings to you too Lady Lena! My Obsessive Compulsive Paizo Boards Checking is really failing me lately...I even missed a thread where the Pett-Logue rivalry is brought up and compared to Elvis and the Beatles!!!...sad.

The place just isn't the same without you slithering around.

Hi, I'm sorta new here too. I have been lurking these boards fairly heavily since the announcement of Dungeon and Dragon coming to an end. Before that I was a very casual lurker since I subscribed to Dungeon (right after Age of Worms started). Anyway the community here is much better than the other message board I frequent (you can guess which one).

I just filled out my profile in case anyone is curious.

Welcome Agognon, and thank you all for welcoming my son. I just don't want him to become too addicted to the boards, we do only own one computer. It will be nice, however, to laugh with someone about something one of our Paizo friends said without having to explain.

"Um, well, no I've actually never met the person but..."
I'm sure you all understand :)

Yes, I do. Some people seem to have a hard time understanding that I know you all but at the same time didn't have a clue what your real names were. Usually these are the same people who can't understand that you don't 'win' in the traditional sense when playing D&D.

There's a right way to get diarrhea? I must have doing it wrong all this time. ;)

I don't know about a "right" way, but I can give you a few "sure" ways.

Hello! I'm MaxSlasher26! Or just MaxSlasher. Heck, most people call me Max if they happen to reply to any of my posts at all.

I've been around here for a while, but I only really started to frequent these boards after I realized that everyone here is kinder and less whiny than some of the jerks over on the Wizards boards.

Viva la messageboards!

As a result of sexual overdose. If you have to have it, I highly recommend this method.

I am going to jump in and introduce myself here too.

My name is Taliesin. I was born in London. I left Europe when I was eight and Lived in South Africa under apartheid. I have lived in Taiwan for the last five years.

I like the clarity, wit and humour of the Paizonites, and since I am in some ways a person of no fixed citizenship, I feel like this internet forum is my true nation.

I love History and Science. I capitalise them because they are closer to me than any proper noun.

I am getting married this Saturday to my lovely and brilliant Taiwanese lover, Miao Yi Wang. Our wedding photos (A Taiwanese institution) are on flickr

Congrats Taliesin!! As a newlywed myself (12 May 2007) I can say that you should get ready for a day that will be among the best in your life. Oh, and by the way, if everyone tells you that you had a dopey grin on your face everytime you looked at your bride during the ceremony...they are probably right. I denied it at first, but then saw the wedding video.

Anyway, wishing you and your wife-to-be all the best...

Thank you very much for the kind words.

Welcome to Lady Lena.

Congratulations to the two of you! May your years together be long, happy, and prosperous.

Welcome to the boards Taliesin, and heartfelt wishes of everlasting joy to you and your lovely bride. Paizo is a wonderful nation to claim, soon you'll be just as crazy as the rest of us. Trust me, it'll happen, look at me, I used to be normal.

Congrats, and best wishes for the big day tomorrow Taliesin (and off topic, excellent rendition of Jabberwocky on another thread..)

I understand that the Taiwanese (pre-) wedding photos are indeed an institution and an experience! How many costume changes did you (and probably more to the point your lovely bride) go through?

I've officiated about eight weddings (and catered about as many) and I'd have to say those were the best wedding photos I've ever seen.

It's a whole big industry in Taiwan - you go into a studio several days ahead of the wedding, they do makeup, hair, supply the outfits and take the (very professional) photos.

Oh.

I just thought we were all saying hello to Lady Lena. Though she's been here for a while now, I guess.

She's probably at least seen one of my posts in some other thread anyways.

I started this thread ages ago, my son dug it up to introduce himself when I finally let him get a profile, so technically, we're all saying hi to Alien Spawn.

Ah.

Well in that case: Hey there, Alien Spawn!

I didn't intend to jack this thread.

Thank you to Rev. Daigle.

I wore my own clothes, except for the cheesy white suit. Miao-Yi had three costume changes. I fought to not have us photoshopped or blurred.

Thank you for the shout out on Jabberwocky.

Hello to Alien Spawn. Enjoy the forums. There was nothing like this in the eighties, when most of us played the game in our lonely island groups with Dragon and Dungeon the only international link between us all.

I played with my parents and my brother as a D.M. Good times. Who is the D.M. in your family?

I like the black and white picture the best, it is so beautiful. you two are such a lovely couple.
Alien Spawn is currently staying with his uncle, where they play D&D every night, I will not see him again until we play a kids game here. In our home, my hubby is the DM, (Alien Spawn's dad) but when Pathfinder is in my greedy little hands, I will take over the chair, and I am sooo looking forward to it *evil grin*

Congradulations Taliesin! May fortune favor yourself and your wife to be.
I also like the idea of Paizo as a nation.

Hi :)

There's a lot of introductions going on around here, so I thought I'd get in on the action. I'm a chronic lurker, often reading messageboards but rarely posting. I don't know why that is exactly, but those days are (hopefully) over. The Paizo community is one of the friendliest I've ever seen, and the staff response and interaction on the messageboards is just amazing. I can no longer sit back and watch while Pathfinder is created! I must get involved! I feel like this is a community where people like us can really be heard and make a difference to the world Paizo is creating.

Agognon, my story of coming to Paizo is quite similar to yours. I think a lot of people have come out of the woodwork after the announcement. Welcome fellow newcomers and ex-lurkers. Thankyou to Lady Lena for starting this thread, and giving us all somewhere to introduce ourselves. And of course, congratulations on your wedding, Taliesin!

I've written a bit about myself in my profile, so if you're interested, you can check that out. I hope to have a good time here at the Paizo community, and I look forward to becoming a part of it :)

Welcome Grindor; is nice to see peeps are filling out their profiles; this thread is a shining example of why I love these boards so much; so many great peeps. Hehe some of us even kicked around the idea of building a whole retirement communtity so we can all retire to play D&D and other games and have interesting conversations and BBQ's hang out and have a good old time. That thread is around here somewhere; imagine; somebody would be running a game almost all the time; and you could game with some of the neat peeps you have read stuff from on these boards; how cool is that.

Be nice if we could consolidate all of these introduction and persona and stuff threads as there are getting to be quite a few and they are all good; be nice if they had their own topic heading

Well, hello again to all new and old, and Lady Lena; that is totally cool how the pictures wiggle on your myspace page :)

Hi Valegrim, thanks for the welcome.

I completely agree with you there, it's definitely the people that make these boards great. I've browsed a lot of other D&D boards and never really had to urge to post or get involved, just scoure them for house rules, etc. But the Paizo boards are different, and I do think the term "community" is accurate.

Valegrim wrote:

As for a retirement community, that'd be awesome! I've got a long way to go till retirement, but the idea sounds great.

Valegrim wrote:

Yeah, I looked around for an "Introductions" topic, like some boards have. It sounds like a good idea. Or maybe just a sticky'd introduction thread, so there's always somewhere to say hello.

Valegrim wrote:

Thats a pretty good idea. That would be fun retiremnt community. Imagine, people coming to visit their elderly relatives and finding them playing console games and RPGs while discussing whatever the SciFi show of the time is.

*elderly, grandmotherly voice on a phone*

"I'd normally love to go to lunch with you darling, but the Wii finals are that day. Tuesday? No, I believe that's my figure painting day. Hmm, we'll see about saturday, but I think a bunch of us are getting together for a LOTR marathon. Oh, gotta go darling, lovely talking to you but it's initiative, bye!"

and I roll a a what did I roll? The numbers are so small nowadays. Your initiative is a what? speak up! don't mumble! You hit the, the, the, what were you attacking again?

Why, back in my day we had Thaco, up hill, both ways.

Nurse, It is time for our pizza and mountain dew.

Harold! you can't use your dentures as a miniature!

Damn! a 1, DAMN my arthritis.

I got a fresh colostomy bag, whose initiative is it?

I am too invested 6.75 to think about 7th edition. Mind you, the new animatronic beholder looks sweet!

In poor taste and a little weak, but they raised a dry smile for me.

It's nice when someone makes you smile first thing in the morning, thank you :)
