Thanks for the reminder. I downloaded it yesterday, and will print it today - I don´t like reading longer texts on-screen. (My eyes are not getting any better...)

For those interested, Oerth Journal #23 is finally out. It's a Maure Castle special.
Awesome. Thanks for the tip!
Your welcome!

where are the Oerth Journals?

The link you need for Oerth Journals is right here.

Oerth Journal

Just click on the Oerth Journal of your choice. Each has a table of contents. If you download all of them and want to keep track of what articles are in each, I would suggest printing out each table of contents and stapling or binding them together. That way you don't need to re-open the files when it comes time to search for certain topics of interest.

Liberty's Edge

I got Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk some time ago.
I was really glad they finaly put something out on Greyhawk.
It left me with a couple of questions. Most of them tie-in
with the questions in the Chamber of Seven Secrets in the Guide
of Wizardry and can wait. What i was really wounderng was if
any one knows the nine gods that Zagig captured. The only ones it said in the book was Iuz and Zuoken. Anyone out there know?

I'm not sure if all of them have actually been named but it is supposed to include Wastri, Rudd, and Marika. Olidammara was captured when he came to rescue Rudd and turned into a beetle thing but I don't think he was used in the machine the made Zagyg a god.

That's a can of worms. There is a list from the original Rob Kuntz/Gary Gygax campaign but it is not compatible with the version of the world that was actually published (Gygax substantially rewrote his campaign to create the published WoG, adding elements from Len Lakofka's and Dave Arneson's campaigns as well as his co-DM, Rob Kuntz).

There have been some stabs at the list from post Gygax authors, but I don't believe that any of them are officially recognized.

Thank you, paizo, for keeping 3.5 alive.
I work for GygaxGamers.com, and we make this promise: Gygaxian gaming shall not die, and we shall bring real gaming to the new players and teach them what gaming was supposed to be. To that end, we are trying to get the rights to Greyhawk. We are also hoping to produce modules with 3.5 rules and 1st and 2nd ed. feel, just like Gary use to make. Any information or assistance toward this goal would be greatly appreciated.

This is from memory so don't quote me:

Iuz, Zuoken, Myrlund, Daern, Johydee, Kelanen, Keoghtom, Wastri, Al'Akbar.
On Canonfire - a web site dedicated to Greyhawk - this list is debated because there are two lists published for D&D with two or three missing from both list. The nine demigods are supposed to represent a single primary alignment: LG, LN, LE, NG, N, NE, CG, CN, CE.

I would just create your own choices as long as you keep in mind they all must represent a single alignment. Unless you want canon material, get researching on.

I have posted many times, you can run what ever you want to and buy what ever you want to. If you don't like what WotC is doing than don't buy their stuff. Enough people do that and they"ll change it.

Thanks. Now that i got a idea what kinds of gods were captured i can run

with the idea in my own way.

I've ben wondering if npc's from adventures like shackled city or age of worms could be used in fiction based on fourth edition setting or are they characters owned by paizo and not wizards.... if greyhawk was to be brought back after time?

Sovereign Court

Does anyone else find it ironic that WOTC are holding on to Pelor a god whose tenets included intolerance of other religions and whose priests were always described as had a do as I say or be smitten group?

Just thought I'd mention it as it seems to fit the Wizards mindset nowadays.

That's actually Pholtus for intolerance of other religions, Saint Cuthbert for smacking other people on the head.

Sovereign Court

Gaaaaaaaak!!!...my bad over the Pelor/Pholtus confusion..long time since i seriously played in GH(but wasn't Pelor equated with Pholtus at some point)

and not all St Cuthbertian clerics were for smacking people..only the billets were concerned with that.

I did create a paladinical order of St C that was very much into smiting evil...but were at least tolerant of other good religions.

About the imprisoned demi-gods: the sage Iquander (Erik Mona) gave "his" list.

Merikka, Stern Alia, Wastri, Xilonen, Zuoken, Chitza-Atlan, Tlazoteotl, Rudd and Iuz.

Go to Canonfire for detailed comments.

I'm still sad. I don't really think Greyhawk is coming back.

Silver Crusade

3 people marked this as a favorite.

For all of you that are interested in Greyhawk take a look at the Castles & Crusades game system. Gary Gygax was involved with C&C and they have been/are producing all of Gary's stuff. Of course, WotC owns the Greyhawk name, so the products are called Castle Zygag. They seem to be very adaptable to any system.
