Sonny Burgess--"We Wanna Boogie"
Ain't Got a Thing/Restless

Alhaji K. Frimpong--"Kyenkyen Bi Adi Mawu"

Southern rockabilly and Ghanian highlife!

Liberty's Edge

So they cancelled an hour of Talk of the Nation and the weekend hipster stuff (plus Thistle and Shamrock [the Irish/Scottish folk hour] and American Routes [Zaideco {which my computer wants to switch to "Ecocide" . . .} and blues and jazz and country and rock]). Switched over to the classical station, which plays a lot of spanish guitar type stuff. Pretty cool.

And a ridiculous amount of this.

The Who--"I Can See for Miles"

The legendary one-note guitar solo!

Hee hee!

Try zydeco.

There don't seem to be that many videos of pre-Tommy live Who. :(

Anyway Anyhow Anywhere

R80-o.com, a streaming radio station started by a local radio personality who was mysteriously let go from one of the gawdawful formula classic rock stations in Little Rock. He's actually got it going on with this thing, playing classic rock that hasn't been played in a million years, i.e, the stuff I grew up with and not the same 200 fargin' songs over and over. I'm also ashamed to admit it, because I don't like the guy personally.

This new album!!!! (I am never going to stop from linking this stuff I don't care if nobody clicks)

Jit has this ridiculous thing where he overthinks his music a lot but it's still pretty damn cool. One of the albums most worthy of an "experimental" tag.

Nickleback, yeah I know I made a bunch of you throw up just a little.

Not so much throw up as pondering confiscating your amplifier and speakers. ;)

When I first started shopping at record stores there was this 2 album set called Urgh! A Music War that was everywhere. You could pick it up for $5 or less at every used record store in New England. And it was pretty awesome, a soundtrack from a movie that came out in 1980 with a bunch of post-punk and new wave stuff.

I never saw it, but I read that it was released on DVD recently. Which must be why all the clips are on youtube.
