Cinerama--This Is Cinerama

I never really got into The Wedding Present, but David Gedge's next band Cinerama was just overflowing with the lush, indiepop that was my particular fin-de-siecle fix back then.

Anyway, this is a collection of their first couple vinyl singles that were only bought by pretentious hipsters and me.

Love

Pacific

Model Spy with what looks like footage from 8 1/2 (???)

Cinerama does The Smiths.

Classic rock songs I can't escape (and have, over the last 20 years, whittled away my defenses.)

I just added a new song for an upcoming adventure to my site.

Gaming Music by Dr. Games

The new song is called the Caves of Chaos. If you listen to it from start to finish it tells a story, it grows on you!

Enjoy!

My life is a Dire Straits song. Please help me.

From Kajehase: The Clash--Police on My Back

The Jackson 5--ABC

On top of the monster title track, there is

The Love You Save

and while their cover of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles can't compare, their rendition of Funkadelic's "I'll Bet You" is pretty bad ass.

OK guys - talk to me about Mumford and Sons.

I've heard a few of their songs and they're pretty good. Where's the best place to start album-wise?

They've only got the one album right now, so I'd say to go to the record store and pick up Sigh No More.

Liberty's Edge

What Shiny said. I think they released an EP a few years back (prior to the album) but I'm not familiar with it or what songs it contained.

Liberty's Edge

Here's one that's rather nostalgic for me. By all rights, I shouldn't like the band, but I do, mainly because it was some of the only punk-ish music on the radio when I was in high school.

The Raconteurs--Consolers of the Lonely

I'm pretty sure that The White Stripes are the last band that I am going to have followed from the grassroots up to superstardom. It sucks being a fat, old ex-hipster. :(

Anyway, I like this album. It kind of cuts the LZ/punk stomp of The White Stripes with little Macca/Wings-like 70s rock touches.

Not on this one, though. Salute Your Solution

This one adds Fairport-like fiddling. Old Enough

And, of course, they ditched the LZ comparisons by...covering the guy who turned down the chance to be Robert Plant! Rich Kid Blues
