Oh, the things I did to the time-space continuum while 'Red Temple Prayer (Two-Headed Dog)' played in the background...:)

Tonight it's Shoot Out the Lights, about four times so far. Hadn't heard it in years, can't stop listening to it now.

Richard Thompson is one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Saw him in September of 2011 in Middlebury, VT. Absolutely amazing.

It's Soul Train, with your host, Don Juan de Cornelius!

Al Green--"Let's Stay Together"

Aretha Franklin--"Do Right Woman"

Sly and the Family Stone--"Runnin' Away

Veronica Falls - Teenage

Got to listen to their album yesterday, my earphones broke about an hour into work - so I only played it about 10 times. Gotta have to make up for that today, though.

(In short - it's more of the same, and bloody awesome!)

As soon as I can get along to my FLRS, I am so getting a copy of that. They were on Marc Riley's show doing a session, and everything you've said in the post above is completely true :)

In other fascinating news, there doesn't seem to be a single musician in Turkey who hasn't done a version of Deniz Ustu Kopurur. Here's one by Kardaslar (on their own) and here's Eser OK having a go at it. Much more traditional than most of the other interpretations (avoid Edip Akbayram's)

You know, I think it's safe to say that before Limeylongears came along, I had never heard a single Turkish song (the soundtrack to Midnight Express doesn't count, methinks).

Thank you!

I had missed this before!

All excellent Muppets performances. Even John Denver.

So, the Paizo messageboards and my listening habits have merged in one of those moments of synergistic weirdiosity that I love so much and I present to you:

Loretta Lynn and the Muppets

Also, I've been watching old videos of Loretta Lynn which, growing up in New England, I'd never seen before.

Loretta Lynn is f%*%ing hawt.

EDIT: Swarming the musical guest with wailing Muppets always seemed to be a successful comic venture; I know it always makes me laugh.

Yeah, sure, I'll just pop round.

This Wicked Tongue is from Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea.

I just checked and it is a UK-edition bonus track.

I used to think Is This Desire? was so outstanding that it would be her defining work, then she released White Chalk and Let England Shake. One of my favourite artists. She also gets a lot of play in my house because my fiance is also a huge fan.

It's all stuff that friends have linked on Facebook and I took a liking to. Really the only one out of those that I listen to on a regular basis is Slowdive. It's odd--the guy who's the huge Boards of Canada fan is about as far from being a hipster as you could get.
