The Eldritch Mr. Shiny wrote:

'Rock and Roll N---er' by Marilyn Manson

This is an interesting one. At first, I thought it fell into his 'offensive on purpose' category until I heard this line:

"Brian Warner, what a n---er!"

This was from long, long ago, so I'm sure you know that Marilyn Manson is a talentless hack who should burn in the lowest depths of hell, and that this is a Patti Cover. :-)

(and yes, MM was just trying to be offensive on purpose)

I was going to linky, but the sound quality for the various videos was questionable at best. I guess when it comes to punk I shouldn't be too concerned about sound quality (as in recording quality, not actual song).

Was wringing the last drops of pleasure out of Neil Young's GH. Got to "Southern Man," had to flip the tape over. On the radio, I shiznit you not, is "Sweet Home Alabama"!

The synergistic weirdiosity is freaking me out!

Neil Young--"Southern Man" W/CSN live audio

Lynyrd Skynyrd--"Sweet Home Alabama" Turn it up.

Drive-By Truckers--"Ronnie and Neil" The song's a little clumsy, I know.

Go away if you're real sensitive or can't handle controversial satire!

Spoiler:
Imho, Randy Newman--"Rednecks" was the real answer record, and won the whole argument. NSFW.

From The Eldritch Mr. Shiny, kind of--The Saints Are Coming

I used to think I was the only American who liked The Skids, but then that Boondock Saints movie came out (never saw it) and now I'm just one of the herd.

As for myself, I do most of music-listening in the car, but she's in the shop and I'm stuck with my parents' '89 Dodge Ram w/out a radio. So now I just listen to the diesel engine going "Duggaduggaduggadugga..."

OK. Calico Scats are a side project of Bootsie Collins (with or without the Gap Band helping out). Came out in 1980 in Germany and Japan on a small label. Released in Australia and Austria in 82, and only recently uncovered in the US and UK. Bootsie doesnt even remember the recording sessions.

Juggahurgle is a very early 'supergroup'. Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, a young Robby Krieger, and the ghost of Arthur Rimbaud on drums. It all came together on the eve of Christmas Eve in a tiny converted warehouse on Bleecker Street in 1962. Only a single recording of the quartet exists today in a vault in Paris, France. An ivory-colored 7 inch 45 floated around on the bootleg market for years, but those in the know say it is obviously a fraud.
