Grandmaster Melle Mel & The Furious Five - White Lines

And this is my favourite Public Enemy

Ah, good times!

Plenty of people were getting nostalgic by '98

So, now I'm listening to old hip-hop all day. Good call, Doodlebug.

I've got Speakerboxxx... on my iPod and keep listenng to it at work and it keeps blowing my mind that it's ten years old...

Anyway, after sharing greetings with Limey last night, I tried to link some John Lennon songs and kept getting booted off Paizo. I wonder if Yoko's legal team is watching even here...

Third attempt to post this:

Not much politrolling going on today-- :(-- so, uh, I watched The U.S. Vs. John Lennon again last week. Pretty good flick.

Power to the People

Gimme Some Truth

and

Instant Karma

which isn't very politrollish, but is awesome nonetheless.

And the 'Sex and Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll' riff towards the end (ish)!*

Ooh! I've never looked into all of the Blockheads videos on youtube!

That shiznit is hawt!

Also, it should be, like, the background music playing in a boisterous Ustalavic tavern in a Carrion Crown campaign or something.

Fine. Here's an article on Ron Carter.

Earth Crisis... they're locals from my neighborhood in Syracuse. The guy who does my tattoos went to high school with them. Apparently, they're nice guys, but I've never met them and a lot of their fans are dicks.

Liberty's Edge

One of the in-flight movies during Disaster Spring '13 (also known as my trip to California) was a 3-hour documentary on Pete Seeger. Almost enough to make up for being stuck in Oakland for two days with no money.

Pure gold. I love the original -- also one of my top 100 favorite songs -- and this one's excellent as well. Thanks!

I've got that album. It's pretty f&!#ing smoking.

Synergistic weirdiosity, I just put Blue Cathedral on my iPod for work, but I won't start linking it just quite yet.

That pretty much matches my approximation.

Dark Side is tough, though, if you have to spend any time listening to classic rock radio on a regular basis. My advice is: don't do it, and Dark Side will be awesome each and every time.

Also, [bubble bubble bubble].

For the past 10 minutes: Bacon Pancakes

Don't judge me.

That was very good indeed.

Why does Sweden produce so much fabby stuff like this, I wonder? (see also: Goat (again) and Dungen )

Comets on Fire were very good indeed, but they're from sunny California, not snowy Sweden.

In short, thanks to a legacy of music in that vein from the 1970s forward. See Träd, Gräs, och Stenar, and Bo Hansson.

Also: more Deodato! Yay!

In fact, all of Deodato 2

Hmmm. That one is a big blank in my sensors. Must've been all that early nineties grunge drowning it out.

Btw, Peter LeMarc looks like a Scandinavian Frank Black to me...
