BTW, did anyone else catch a whiff of foreshadowing back in season 5, when Death tells Dean that one day he'll "reap god"?

Hmmmm... good point.

I was very very happy with the first episode of season 7. I always wanted to yell at the commercials for ruining the mood though. Some shows need to find a way away from such commercial slayings (outside of waiting till it comes out on DVD as I like supporting my show).

Ah well.

Good times.

1) Leviathans suck.
2) Osiris??
3) TEH ANGST!

This season is exhausting. They should have ended it a couple of seasons ago.

I still love this show. I cheated and watched it yesterday, as I normally wait until the boxed set of each season is out. I can't seem to watch the show every week like clockwork, there's always something on my plate that I miss and episode here and there.
Maybe Cas is guiding me to DVR? ;)

Just finished the season 6 dvds. I've been abit busy.

Except for the main characters (I love Dean, Sam-with-a-soul, and Bobby) and the return of Becky, this season has kind of sucked. Season 6 was decent, I just can't get into Leviathans.

Then they killed Castiel. That was bad (Castiel is a great character), but he could come back potentially. And now it looks like they're killing Bobby? wtf. I guess they want to end the franchise? The episode was actually great, I just don't want to lose another great character.

Anyway, seems like the show is going downhill, fast. I hope I'm wrong.

Having said that, it's nice to have Sam back as normal.

I'm enjoying the lack of Leviathan related stories. I wish they'd just make that plot go away quickly.

Back to basics (monster hunting) is still fun.

I only discovered this show last week on Netflix's streaming service. I must say it's a lot of fun!

I just started working through the early seasons again via Netflix. Some of the episodes in Seasons 1 and 2 legitmately creeped me out - much more so than any of the more recent seasons.

Season 7 SPOILER:
Satan's back in Sam's head and he can't get rid of him?! Holy BEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

Season 1: It's good, but it's like X-files. I liked the investigation aspect of the episodes, the characters were likable, but it wasn't unique TV.

Season 2: Better than season 1, with more demons, great storylines. Care about the characters a lot.

Season 3/4: Some of the best and most creative stories I've seen. Love the characters, they make me laugh.

Season 5: Same as seasons 3/4, and has maybe the best ending to a series I've ever seen.

Season 6: An "OK" reboot, not as good, but it's better than killing the series.

Season 7: There's the odd monster killing episode that's great and it sometimes reminds me of seasons 1+2, but a lot of the episodes are bad. I'll keep watching though, because I'm hooked. It's getting better as we get towards the end.

My question is... how do you have better drama than what unfolded in seasons 1-5? I'm not sure it's possible. Looking for your dad, avenging your family, angels, demons, Lucifer, brother problems, friends dying, saving the world. I'm just wondering what they can do to top that.

Scarab Sages

They just need to get it over with and bring in the Great Old Ones! Lovecraft FTW!

Wait..6th season "reboot"? Gads, no one say anything about that, please!!! I'm only up to season 3!!!!

*covers eyes*

He said "reboot" because Eric Kripke, the creator of the show, only intended for it to run for 5 seasons. It was so successful though, that the network continued it. Since the original vision was for 5 seasons, season 5 ends with no small amount of finality.

The "reboot" is just how the writer's ensured the story could continue on afterward. It in no way undoes anything from the previous 5 seasons, so don't fret!

(And stick with Season 6 when you get that far. It starts off shaky, but comes together in a very satisfying way about 2/3 of the way in.)

P.S. Season 3 is awesome, even if it's only 16 episodes long because of the blasted writer's strike. Dean + Sam + Impala + Bon Jovi = my favorite scene from the series to date.

She seems like she would be cool to hang out with but I've never found her attractive personally.

Oh I'd say she's cute, but in the same way half the local CBD is full of cute office worker chicks or something. Agreed she'd be cool to hand out with sure - but had she not been in the Geekchic videos most people wouldn't have really looked at her twice.

The only reason she is so popular is because SHE JUST MIGHT be interested in listening to your cool anecdote about your 12th level Wizard and his latest in game exploits.

Shifty wrote:

Really? Her popularity wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that she wrote a massively popular web series that has put a handful of seasons under its belt now huh? That has nothing to do with her popularity?

I get really tired of seeing females in the industry get dismissed because a guy doesn't find her attractive enough for his own personal tastes....whether you find her attractive or not doesn't take away from her accomplishments as the writer of The Guild, her comedy is excellent, and takes a very tongue in cheek look at the world of MMO players.

The concept of sitting around with Felicia Day talking about a character to impress her is not only insulting, its degrading and sexist. Would you bore Wil Wheaton with stories of your characters? Or Vin Diesel? Robin Willams? No, you would utilize your time to let them talk, to hear what they are working on, to try and capture some of that creativity that fuels those who create the products we all sit back and enjoy...don't discount a person as not worth your attention because you are not attracted to them, or you feel they are not popular enough to elicite the star treatment.

There's 'popular', and then there's 'Popular'. We are talking about her Popularity.

You are also way off the mark with what you are 'tired about', as we have already acknowledged that she would be cool to hang with and would be fun to talk to, however this is a conversation of two conversations and you seem to miss that point.

What females in the indurty are you talking about, who? name them? if you are tired about it you should no doubt be able to field a significant number of names. Go ahead, I'm listening.

What I am talking about is all the guys that carry on with "ZOMG Felicia Day", they are ZOMG'ing over her looks, they aren't ZOMG'ing over her leet gaming skills - they weren't "ZOMG Gary Gygax" in quite the same way now were they? (Or they might have been, not every guy likes girls, and not all the gamers are guys, and maybe some girls and guys liked cool old dudes).

Anyhow, think we are done here, you can Internet White Knight and be her self appointed champion all you like and complain stuff is sexist and degrading, and I will continue to stay here and say I think she's pretty over-rated. But a cool chick nonetheless.

That you take it all so seriously and to heart is kinda funny.

Wil Wheaton? I'm not a Trekkie, the show bores me. I'd chat to him like he was anyone else.

Liberty's Edge

I'm going to have to agree that I'm not viewing Felicia Day as a girl gamer at all. Just a gamer. She seems like she'd be cool to shoot the dork chat with. I'd do the exact same thing with Vin Diesel (though I'd probably ask a lot about the D&D character he has tattooed on him, that's just awesome).

I can't say she's over exposed by any means. I'd rather people get all crazy over her then a lot of other celebs people go nuts over.

But none of this is on point.

On point, it's awesome she was on this show as I love this show and she's cool. As happy as when Jewel Staite was on? No, but Firefly was amazing and she was awesome in it. Someone slap in Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk and I'll be a happy Supernatural fan.

Of course then again, I don't need any of that. Jensen Ackles ALONE is the reason to keep watching this show. Sold.

Jensen is a pretty stand-up guy, 100% pure awesome.

I would really like to see Ackles front and center in more venues than Supernatural.

If only Jensen had not been considered too short to play Captian America or Superman...

Man I know. I really want to see the guy go big. He's an amazing actor and deserves a shot at more. All i can do is hope I guess.

You know I think I'm glad he missed those roles, they might be a bit out of keeping with his personality and the way he comes across. I could see him more as a slightly sardonic superhero though.

Maybe if they remade Big Trouble in Little China they could pull him in as the new Jack Burton? ;p

I would have bought him as Hawkeye, no questions asked.

Supernatural is getting good again with the Bobby storyline.

My only hope is that the Levithan storyline doesn't go into season 8.

Still need to watch Season 7, sadly by the time I got Hulu they had removed episodes 1-6 of it.

Other than that love the show and its one of the few my wife watches with me.

For those that might be interested there is an RPG for the system out there. Havent had a chance to try but if anyone has could they let me know what they thought?

I'm sort of hoping the Leviathan arc starts to wind up too.

I can see it being S8 though.

@Talon, not sure I'd be up for the RPG - Dark Consipracy was a good system for that sort of thing when it came out many moons ago, notionally 'Twilight 2000 with UFO's'.

Supernatural's take on golems (vs Nazis!) and familiar's has been awesome this season. Very inspirational for Pathfinder.

Season 8 has been very good.

Liberty's Edge

Just saw this episode. Awesome all the way around. Nonetheless, I'm always a little put off when they mispronounce occulty words, like Thule in this episode.

Great Wolfenstein vibe at the beginning, too.

He voiced Red Hood in the Under the Red Hood animated Batman movie, if he counts as a "hero".

Also, likin' this whole "Post-Leviathan" (I stopped keeping up with season numbers a while ago) season. The only part I didn't like was Sam's dopey soap opera-y "romance".

Complete with "Look away from your jilted lover and stare at but not quite INTO the camera" cheese.

This season has been really good and my faith in Supernatural is renewed! The season finale was great also, very surprising too. I thought the entire series was going to end to be honest.

But now I think next season should be very interesting. More angels and demons... bring it on.

Really enjoying Supernatural again the last 2 seasons.

Finally into the current season after Netflix catchup. Been hitting Amazon Prime for the ones my DVR didn't catch.

Dog Dean Afternoon restored a lot of faith after some so-so episodes :)

That one was pretty funny, yeah. I've been enjoying this season okay. I really don't like the "mid-season finale" trend though because it makes it hard to remember what season you're on with a show any more, especially with one with as many seasons as this.

Sovereign Court

tonight was a great show... I'm really disappointed Magnus got killed. I'm really disappointed he was a lunatic/collector madman... he would have made a great ally/recurring character. Although...... maybe I shouldn't write him off yet, as he doesn't strike me as someone dumb enough to be beheaded in melee... (maybe he didn't die and one of his shapeshifter died instead...........)

Liberty's Edge

Well this is an interesting turn of events for the Season Finale leading up to the very last Season ...

And might I add, their inclusion of Cain and the backstory given to him was pretty incredible and interesting in my mind as well as what and where the First Blade came from.

"Supernatural the Musical" was a great epsisode and they could have ended the series with that episode imo. /sad

Makes me realize it's all coming to an end soon. :(

Is it? Last I heard there was already another season ordered.

Sovereign Court

I hope so! although I didn't see the show resume in the fall... did I miss it completely or are they taking a one year break?

*casts Death Ward in light of suspicious thread necromancy...*

It had its mid-season finale last week.

hmm... last show I saw was Dean on blade of Cain withdrawal... fade to black with him struggling I think..

My understanding is that Jensen tweeted that there was going to be an eleventh season, but there hadn't been any official confirmation yet.
