Just added another 23 or so avatar images from the Blood War mini set.

Yay!

Cool. I wonder what this one is. It looks cool.

I felt a little sad leaving my vrock avatar behind, but sometimes you just need to make some changes.

EDIT: Neat-o. I'm a howler now. The mini is 10x cooler than the MM art for the howler. (I think I'm going to have to get one of these minis and use a howler in a game now. ;) )

Of course, now it will take everyone weeks to recognize Cosmo again. That hideous avatar he had before was so distinguished.

It would be nice to have the ability to import avatar images, but I doubt that that nicety would be worth the cost it would cost.

I just want a Cat-Dragon i Guess. :)

More female avvies would be lovely...especially a few non-elven one. You'd think that all chicks are elves, judging by the selection.

Except for Ember.

But everyone knows Ember's not really a chick.

Perhaps now people will stop using Wingclipper and confusing me when I read threads I've posted in!

Yay! I like the goblin. 1st person to grab it. But by tomorrow I will be one of several dozen, and I will probably go back to my poor celestial dire badger.

Ok how does one go about changing their avatar?

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

Go to the Messageboard settings page and change it there.

Gary Teter wrote:

I've been wondering how to do that...thank you!

Just wondering, when wizards ends it will all the avatars be wotc property or can we keep the ones were familiar with?

Who's the red skull-faced looking guy in the avatars?
He must be one of them skinsaw suckers.

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

That guy is from the mockup cover for Pathfinder #3, The Hook Mountain Massacre.

Last I heard, Wizards of the Coast has generously allowed us to continue using our avatars. :)

Which makes me very happy indeed.

That dude's crazy looking.

Makes me happy too, at least they haven't taken this from us.

Gary is it possible that you someday will add the mice from Dragon's Sage Advice articles? I especially liked the one in Dragon 352 (page 86) ;).

Well, it's hot here in Bellevue. Real hot. Like 95 degrees hot. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we're not used to it. And most buildings don't have air conditioning. Like my apartment. Faces west. Top floor. It's probably over 100 degrees in there right now.

My office, on the other hand, is climate-controlled.

My work day ends. I contemplate the puddle which is surely my cat. I do not want to face the puddle, nor the puddle I shall turn into when I get home.

So. Obviously the prudent thing to do is to stay where it's nice and cool. But I can't write any more code, I can't fix bugs. I'm tired.

Hey, guess what doesn't take much brainwork at all, and needs to be done anyway?

You got it. Forty-odd new avatars. Enjoy!

Liberty's Edge

Hey thanks for posting those new avatars Gary, there's some really cool ones in this lot.

I wonder how long till we have half a dozen Demogorgons on the boards? ;-)

Sounds like the same situation here in Bend. It's hot hot hot, I have no AC, and my office is cooler than home...which isn't saying much because I have a lot of computers in there and inadequate cooling. Shorts & tank tops is the new work wear.

Here in Florida, we have to replace like 20 employees a year who accidentally step into the server room without first going through temperature mediation. They instantly crack and fall into frozen chunks.

I have friends who live up in Seattle. I was talking to them the other day and they were like "Oh my god... it's sooooo hot!!!"

Naturally, I said "Turn on the A/C then." They responded "We don't have A/C here."

Being from Mesa, Arizona, my jaw dropped open. The very notion of living without air conditioning is complete blasphemy to me. I don't understand you Northwestern people. You and your non-A/C having selves...

Y'see the thing is... Seattle normally doesn't need A/C. The only thing extreme about this climate is it's moderate-ness. Sure... it rains frequently for a large part of the year, but the temperature usually stays really comfortable.

Until this last week.

This, however, is a fair assessment. :)

I know that you need AC to survive in Savannah, GA. However, I would insist on AC no matter where I go. ~shrugs~ Call me paranoid, but those days you need AC are the ones that you REALLY need it.

I have lived in Jacksonville, FL, Muncie, IN, and Mesa, AZ. Never once have I lacked heating or air conditioning. I'm not sure what life would be like without them. I'm too afraid to find out.

Hey Gary, I just checked out the Msgboard Settings page, to see if I could get a new avatar. I noticed the msg that "Your avatar name is finalized after you have posted 10 messages to the messageboards." Well, "Benjamin Stowell" posted only 2 messages before I turned to an alias "BenS".

Can I then go in there and change "Benjamin Stowell" to "BenS", and then get a new avatar? Or can your avatar not equal your alias??

Thanks.

That's the truth, we're in Cincinnati and between the constant 97% humidity and decent chance of at least 3 100 degree weather days every summer, I think we'll keep our (spare) window unit no matter where we live.

Ya toughen up. I lived near Jax, Fl for a few years without a.c.

It was messed up; my guard unit went to Panama and we had a buncha heat casualties, but I thought the weather was nicer than Florida.

Texas, however, is so freakin' hot there must be a gateway to hell nearby.

That one's on my to-do list. Unfortunately, I have a serious mountain of evil code which I must tame first.

Re: the heat. I lucked out a couple days this week. 92 degrees outside, only 96 degrees inside. By morning (fan running, windows and glass doors open all night) that had dropped to 81 degrees.

My cat is now spending most of his quality time on the bathroom floor. (Tiles, naturally.)

This evening (circa 8 pm or so), the sun was out, it was 85 degrees (89 in the apartment), and it was raining. The Pacific Northwest has some seriously neat weather.

Am I the only one who secretly wishes for November rain?

Ok, I'll try and check back in the future when you might have some more free time. Thanks.

The question is now... when will we get some decent new DWARF avatars?
(great work on adding more of the others, though ;-))

What are you talking about? Who would ever use Demogorgon as their avatar.

>_> <_<

(PS: Only one other user is using this avatar last I checked. If more than three people (including myself) pick it, I'm changing back. I'm trying to use an avatar that very (read: VERY) few people use.)

Any chance you can get an Eli Tomorast in there by the end of the month?

Meh, Demogorgon seemed kinda generic to me...plus I'm sure that as soon as more people notice him, more people will take him.

I like this guy. He's silly looking...kinda looks like an emo. Silly little emo.

27 fresh new avatars. At least I'm pretty sure they're fresh. And that they're avatars.

Added a couple more. These are Drew Pocza's "little dudes" which adorn the designer notes for D1 and W1.

Oh, and by the way, I don't think we've ever pointed out that you can see how many people have selected a particular avatar. It's the number below the avatar image on the Messageboard Settings page.

I presumed that was what the number meant a long time ago. Thanks for confirming my suspicions, though!

Yep. Somehow that clicked with me. I've been recently trying to use avatars that no one else has picked. There are some new ones that are cool and have no takers...but they're so cool that I fear they'll be taken. I think I'll change to a neat one and then change back to my current one (STILL ONLY ME!) until it gets taken by someone else.

Apparently my dude with the emo hair isn't a popular avatar...most likely cuz nobody knows what it's from. But I found it...

EDIT: Ahh...this should be nice for like a day...

Lilith looks much more of a badass these days.

This avatar looks a bit like me. I used to use the mouse, but this one is less used.

Yah, I'm glad there are enough that the regulars can all have different avatars now.

And I'm a bald headed bad-ass with a smug attitude so I reckon this new one suits me.

Still I wish I could upload my inoffensive 99x99 pixel custom avatar.

Thanks, Gary.

I'm not picturing you being consumed by fire ants anymore.
