(this is based on the average age thread, but funnier)

Well we all know that the size of a person's foot relates to the size of their... fist. What were you thinking I was going to say? Anyhow be sure to mention if your using US or European size conventions and width.

I'll start: 10 1/2 wide (US). I tend to wear rough surface walking shoes.

I am also a 10 1/2 . . . I usually have a pair of work shoes, and some shoes to wear at the gym. For my dress shoes I generally wear boots, though I used to have a really nice brown sueded pair. I also had a pair of black dress shoes that I wore when I was a guest service manager, but I haven't really worried as much about comfortable dress shoes since I got out of retail.

When I DM, we generally play at my friends house, and he won't let us wear shoes, so every monday or tuesday night I have to make sure that I have some "good socks" or my wife would be mortified that my feet would appear in a semi-public place in less then properly respectful accoutrements.

Hey . . . lets do average number of elective surgeries of a Dungeon reader next . . .

10 and 1/2 here too... uncanny...

Scarab Sages

9s. I prefer steel-toed hiking boots/lace-up work boots. I only buy cheap-ass tennis shoes, because if I'm out in the field, any tennis shoe tends to get shredded.

I also have a wonderful pair of fire-engine red Chuck Taylors and a pair of engineer boots that saw me through college and most of the British Isles.

Another 10 1/2 (U.S.). Is there something in the water?

I wear 42 (European) and have no idea what that is in US. I just know it's pretty small for a 6-ft. tall guy...

Best thread ever.

Size 9 here.

12 1/2 Wide here... and for some reason, NO ONE on the east side of Indianapolis sells shoes in this size.

Size 14W here...

12. Corollary question, when it seems most of us males wear between 10 1/2 and 12, why do the shoe stores stock 4 of those sizes and 712 of size 7?

Lucky size 13 here.

Its to create an artificial collectible shoe market. As with miniatures, sizes 7-9½ are "common", 10-12 "uncommon", and 6½ and 13 being "rare". It should be noted that 12½s are not sold in stores, and can only be obtained by buying a complete set and mailing in your proofs of purchase + 3.95 s/h.

I have a friend who wears size fifteen and he stands about 5'10. No need for water skis there.

Good point. Anyone have a conversion chart for US to European shoe sizes?

Sweet! I have a 279 Mondopoint. I always wondered what it was...

Aha! I knew there was some sort of conspiracy. In that case I have three pair of "uncommon" combat boots that I might be persuaded to part with for the right price.

I wear a boys size 3. What?

I just signed up to paizo just so that I could reply to this post. It's too funny.

Any way, 8.5 woman's US.

Triple G, I forgot to mention how funny I'd found your "I'm all over feminist fronts" line. Very clever. ;)

The 10 1/2's are coming to take over. I just know it.

My shoe size is 12 or 13. 286 in Korea and Mondopoint. Seems to depend on the brand of shoe. And if you think my feet and hands are big...

LOL!!! That was a great laugh!!! heee heee!!!
(Size 9 US here)

Glad to have you here, Aulyre. I think the boards could do with an increased ratio in X Chromosomes.

I think it has something to do with the Shoe Event Horizon...

11.5 left foot, 9.5 right foot.

12 1/2 to 13 US.

Men's Size: 7 1/2 EEEE (I have wide feet, so finding COMFORTABLE women's shoes is laughable. Forget heels and most sandals - high arch as well)

Favorite Shoes? My Birkenstocks and my "Magic Shoes" - black Converse sneaks with red stiching, red laces and red soles. I lub them.

Whew.

I wear size 9. I'm glad there's at least one person on these boards with smaller feet that me. Mine would be the envy of japanese geishas everywhere.

Liberty's Edge

I'm virtually always a size 12.

I'm also virtually always wearing my black steel-toed boots. I started wearing boots when I moved to Iowa, and I really like them. They seem to hold up so much better than anything else.

Scarab Sages

only a 9 and 1/2.

10 squared.

(My feet are almost as large as they are long!... Which means I could theoreticaly wear the boxes and throw away the shoes! Another advantage of this is that I don't sink in the northern snow!)

You'll never score a geisha job that way! Have you considered cosmetic surgery? I'm going to have mine sanded down until there's just a big toe left, because we all know it's how you are perceived that really matters.

US: 7 1/2 to 8 Men's, or a 9 to 9 1/2 Women's.

Scarab Sages

10 wide. Sometime a 10.5, depending on the manufacturer.

Thoth-Amon the Mindflayerian Atlantian

Let's see, I wear an 8 1/2 tennis shoe, women's size 9, and according to the U. S. Army, I wear a 7 wide.

Guess I get to take my pick.

size 9 here. Yes chris, I feel your pain.
You know what they say about large shoe sizes don't you?....Big toe rings.
Perhaps we should start a new thread "Average number of pairs of shoes owned by a Dungeon subscriber. That could be telling!

Oh ya, I'm at a 14 Mens size and I'm only 5'10. My mom tells me to act my shoe size not my age:)

US shoe size 9D (9 wide) in virtually everything. I'm usually wearing combat boots or low-quarters. Of course the Army, in its infinite Green Machine wisdom, says I'm a 7 1/2 for issued boots. But then, I don't usually wear my issued boots. Altamas rock!
