Gamer Connection

Hello all.

I'm just trying to find enough people to get a good, stable game going with maybe 5 or 6 players. You wouldn't think it was this hard to find a group in Champaign, lol. I have been playing for . . . a long time, in my early thirties, and DMing for the whole time. Willing to join a group, or to act as a DM. Just let me know.

We've got a group in Paris, IL. We're all mid to late 30's. Three of us with a fourth that sits in occassionally. We meet every other Saturday. We play d20 D&D, d20 Spycraft, Shadowrun, Stargate, Star Wars and other systems on occassion. D&D and Shadowrun are two of our staple games. Three of us take turns GMing. Interested in driving to Paris twice a month?

My geography is all messed up . . . I'll have to double check where that is. The real question is, which every other saturday?
I work one saturday (which isnt a problem if the session is after I get off, at 6pm, before travel time), but the other saturday I have my daughter, and I wont give up any time with her.

Paris is about 40 miles south of Danville on Route 1. We're meeting this Saturday (April 23rd). We usually start around 5:00 p.m. and go until 11:00-12:00. Our periodic player comes from Indianapolis.

According to map quest it would be about an hour an a half each way . . .I may not be able to swing it until I get my job back to a mon-fri, which I cannot predict right now . . . I'll keep you posted, and thanks for the offer.

No problem. Yeah, it normally takes me about 75-80 minutes to get to Neal St and 74. Good luck finding players up there. Used to be a game store by the campus, but I guess that's closed now. I know one of the female cashiers at Border's in a gamer, but I can't remember her name. Diminutive brunette with glasses. Good luck!

I was just checking the WoTC boards and came across one that mentioned a new game store in Champaign at 44 Main St. Dragon's Table I believe it was called. Sounds like they're mostly into miniatures, but you could probably find some gamers there too! Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the heads up. I really appreciate it.

Just on the off chance that anyone from the area is still checking out this particular post . . .

Our very small gaming group could still use a few, though not too many (we don't have the space, lol), gamers to fill out our party.

We play a fairly Roleplaying heavy game, with only two PCs at the moment. Set currently in the Forgotten Realms, though my friend also GMs a d20 Star Wars game for us on some nights as well.

If you are interested, please let me know.

Thanks.

Just taking some time to bump this back up and reiterate that we have some new people, but we still could use one or two people to reach our ideal number. If you are in the area and interested get ahold of me and we would be glad to talk to you!

Yes, I know, this will sound pathetic. We have a functioning and fun group going (check out my Mistledale Campaign Journal to see what we have been up to) but I always want to make sure that if anyone is in the area and interested, that they will drop me a line to check the group out, so let me know if you are interested!

And if you want to, check out the link below for the journal of our play:

Hey KnighterrantJr, I'm a D&D gamer from the long ago days of the Red Box who lives in CHampaign and would like to check out your game sometime. If you've got as many players as you can handle (looks like 4 already) that's cool, but if you might need another player for that game or another please let me know. I still buy but rarely play, and when I do play (back with old buds in Iowa) I ALWAYS DM. Would like to try actually playing sometime (but can DM too if warranted).

Open to a lot of games, have stuff for Cthulhu d20, Paranoia, AFMBE, Conan d20, Ravenloft, Star Wars d20, and Godlike rpg already (can you tell I waste a lot of money on games I'll never play?). Will probably be picking up the Starship Troopers new d20 in the next month or so, depending on financial flexibility (I'm a big fan of Mongoose Publishing, if you can't tell).

Let me know if you've got an NPC or something you wouldn't mind letting a stranger play for a 'test game'.

Its great to hear from you. Give me a chance to give you a proper reply, as right now I am in the middle of working 12.5 hours for seven days straight . . . then I'll be off for seven days, so it works out. I just wanted to let you know that I would love to meet up with you and discuss this, and I'll be getting in touch with you in a few days . . .

Thanks

Rock! Great man, I look forward to it. No rush though, I haven't played in quite some time so I can wait a while longer.

Hey, if you don't mind, drop me a line at jrascher@mchsi.com and that way I can get back with you at length about whats what and when.

In the mean time, if you want to check out what the group has been up to, the campaign journal is posted here:

Howdy,
I live over in Urbana, and already am running one game (about the right size already), and playing in another(WAY maxxed out), but I would be open to playing with some other group, if anyone's interested. My turnaround time's pretty big on my game(writing to fill next session), so I have lotsa time between games...

Dumb question, not familiar with location, but name struck me.

Are you near the UIUC campus? My cousin lives just outside, works on campus, and lost his D&D group to marriage and move aways. I may point him your way.

Sorry I missed you guys innitially. I'm getting married on the 27th of August, so I am a little preoccupied with plans and the like. As I get some time I'll reply more appropriately. Thanks for the replies.

Byron, if you REALLY want to take on more (seems like you have a full plate) e mail me at jrascher@mchsi.com and I'll send you a line back. We play usually on tuesday nights, 7-11pm, alternating between Star Wars d20 and D&D Forgotten Realms right now.

Soul, if you want to pass on the above information and my e-mail address (see above) I'll get ahold of them and talk a bit about what we do, etc.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Hey all... I'm looking for a nice, stable, mature game to get involved in. I am 31, been playing/Dm'ing D&D since about '83 or so. I live in Blm/Normal right now, so anything fairly close is cool. I prefer D&D (d20 or old school is groovy), and would love a FR campaign. If anyone has room, let me know, and we'll see what we can work out.

Hello everyone. I'm just bumping this back up again, since our chaos has calmed a bit (we just lost two player due to school, and I just got married).

We are looking for at most two more players. We play in Champaign, Illinois, and we play on Tuesday nights from 7pm to 11pm every week. We switch back and forth between a Star Wars d20 game and a Forgotten Realms Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 edition game.
The average character level in the FR game is 6th, and Star Wars is stil 1st level.

The above schedule is stable up through the middle of November, when holidays and another wedding (not mine this time, lol), make thigs a bit more hectic again.

If you are interested, please e-mail me at jrascher@mchsi.com, or just post to this thread. If you want to see what the Forgotten Realms game has been like so far, you can check out the campaign log here:
