What's your average party wealth?

Shackled City Adventure Path

In my campaign the Ironguard have become wealthy indeed.
Each of the 8 party members have ammassed roughly 200,000 gp
in personal loot! This does not account for the cost of many
resurrections, or the net worth of properties aquired along
the way such as the Brass Trumpet and House Vhalantru. The
DMG states that an 18th level character should have about
440,000 gp average wealth, I guess that's about right since
I have 8 players and AP is designed for 4. At any rate I am
curious to hear how other DMs and players have progressed as
far as wealth is concerned.

P.S: Several of the Ironguard have taken various positions
in political and economical roles in the Cauldron region.
Although we still have Strike on Shatterhorn and Asylum
to tackle, should the Ironguard be successful in their quest
they still have work to be done as Cauldron is in a state of shambles due to the events of Foudations of Flame! Just
wondering if any of my esteemed colleagues have put a price tag on the rebuilding of our fallen adventure nest?

P.S.S: An official post from Mr. Mona would be greatly appreciated!

Wealth is per character, not per party. An average encounter should yield a party a set number of xp and a set amount of wealth. If there are more members in a party, each member gets less xp and less wealth. It´s a pretty good system and it´s pretty well balanced, all things considered. A party of 8 18th level characters should have the same wealth per character as a party of 4 characters. So it seems your players are short on cash.

Of course, the system is not perfect. It doesn´t fully take into account expensive spells such as resurection, although you do end up with less xp and less cash. It also doesn´t really consider assets the pc´s bought such as manors and castles and such.

Thanx froggie, I am well aware that wealth is per character

not party, and infact if you haven't noticed, the Ironguard are all 18th level which means I have customized the campaign with additional encounters and treasure. Actually, my question is how much loot have the characters gained in other AP campaigns? I want to know if AP is capable of generating
the amount of wealth suggested in the DMG?

P.S: The system also doesn't take into account scrolls, magical ammunition, or charged items expended. I'm not
saying the system is flawed I just want to know how everyone
else has handled the question of loot (too much/not enough)
in their campaign!

Look, the fact that I didn't read your mind doesn't mean you have to start with the name-calling. It wasn't my intention to talk down to you. I'm sorry if that's how it came across.

If you want to know whether the AP is balanced wealth-wise, I'd say yes. But it does depend on a lot of If's.

Sovereign Court

For its worth I have 5 PCs and their wealth is very close to the wealth by level in the DMG. We are only about half through Zenith Trajectory.

My party, the Company of the Westering Sun, are not as wealthy as they should/could be. They've skipped finding lots of treasure in order to progress the story. They're not really dungeon crawling as they should be. So I've been trying to increase the treasure they do find to make sure they're not undertreasured and underequiped. That said, they purchased a house in Cauldron for 20,000. One character had Magic Fang permanatly cast on himself. And several characters purchased useful magical equipment, so I guess they're doing ok.

I allowed only once my party to go to Sasserine for item shopping (strongly limiting the items availability as I consider magic shopping unfair). As a result I have a wealthy party with a lot of low magic items. Gold piece more, gold piece less, they are all near the suggested wealth in DMG.
But they comply every single day...
