Hi guys---
I received Dragon 326 in the mail yesterday, and have been reading the contents.
However, the cover to my issue has a large crease in it, and multiple smaller dog-ears near the open corners; there are several small tears or slices in the cover and some of these run through the first 20 pages or so; there are also many small dings in the pages edges of the cover that don't tear, but do indent into the rest of the magazine as well.
Unfortunately, this isn't a rare problem with Dungeon or Dragon: issues that are semi-mangled like this arrived in my mailbox with some regularity.
I've been a subscriber to Dragon on and off since about issue 66 or so. I don't recall problems like this when Dragon (and later Dungeon) shipped in the brown paper Dragon Publishing mailing wrappers. I would think that the polybags actually help to protect the magazines, but that just doesn't seem to be the case. Oddly, though, my polybags aren't usually as mangled as the issue inside them---either the various nicks/etc. are there in the magazine before it's polybagged, or they occur in transit while the magazine's in the polybag. The bag itself is somewhat loose, so that seems possible.
Am I alone in this problem?
Allan.

I am sorry to hear that your magazine was damaged in transit. Polybags tend to have pluses and minuses as shipping containers. They work pretty well at preventing water damage, for example, but don't to so well when preventing creases. However good or bad polybags might be, we are stuck with them for now, and there is no real chance of that changing anytime soon. If you feel that your magazine is badly damaged enough to be unusable, drop us a line at customer.service@paizo.com and let us know and we can usually replace that issue for you.

My Dragon 326 was pretty battered as well. So was the copy of 325 that came in the polybag (two weeks late), while the paper-wrapped one that was sent as a replacement for the MIA copy was perfect. My two issues of Dungeon that I've received so far have also both been somewhat abused.
Is there anything you guys could use as a stiffener to help decrease this kind of silliness?

Nearly every issue of both Dungeon and Dragon are pretty badly beat up when I get them. This is hard to understand, as my copies of "Astronomy" and "Sky and Telescope" arrive just fine. One is polybagged and the other has no covering at all.
I've begun to think about cancelling my subscription and buying decent-looking copies at my FLGS.

We get four monthly magazines at my house. Two (Dragon and Dungeon) are in polybags and are always at least a little damaged. The other two have no protection and are always in good shape.
