cauldron and the adventure path in ebberon?


Shackled City Adventure Path


if you have the ebberon setting would you use it as a good place fer the shakled city adventures?

I know its different but me and my buddys all think it rocks.


I think that these adventures would be great in Eberron!

The Shackled City adventure path has many of the qualities that Keith Baker had in mind for adventures in Eberron: politcal intrigue, bad guys hiring out the good guys, assasination attempts, and even a festival.

The cagewrights may have stumbled across their findings trying to find a way to turn the war in their favor... Perhaps backed finacially through more than one dragon-marked house.

The many disappearances of the adventurers over the years can be scoffed off as war casualties. The sudden abductions in the city could be attributed (falsely or not) to some renegade war-forged.

You could make the noble houses part of the dragon-marked families. You can use the Last War as the reason that Zenith went to battle in the underdark.

Maybe there are enough ex-soldiers that fought against orcs during the war, that the attacks on the half-orc guardsmen (in the Demonskar Legacy) is simply an extension of their war experiences... their hatred and pride.

Those are just my quick two cents... but I think you and your friends would have a great time running the adventure in Eberron. I know I would.

The Exchange

I am currently running the Cauldron campaign in Eberron and I placed Cauldron in Zilargo by just adjusting the Cauldron maps to fit into the Howling Peaks. I also adjusted the jungle to be more of a warm forest with swamp type features since Zilargo is in the southern part of Khorvaire I figured it looked kinda like Georgia and Florida areas.

I adjusted the gods to what I thought was a good likeness of the Greyhawk deities, but as the game goes on, I would suggest that people take a look at Domains and such to place worship where it goes.

I choose Zilargo because it has the highest population of Gnomes, and Jzaridune was built by gnomes as well as Cauldron itself... what better way to fit?
The gnomes loose their magical disease (the vanishing) and leave the city due to their own fear and shame leaving the humans to take over the city as the highest percentage of race living there.

Dark Archive

I am preparing the Adventure Path in Eberron as well and as S. Viconia I am going to place it in the Howling Peaks near Zilargo. I view Cauldron as being somewhat less advanced than the rest of Khorvaire. They are an independant city-state that did not get involved in the Last War. Native Cauldronites are probably somewhat distrustful of outsiders which gives ample opportunities for roleplaying.

I am working on incorporating aspects of Malhavoc's Chaositech into the adventure as well. I think it fits in well with the madness displayed by Adimarchus and his minions. This can also be linked to The Vanishing that occurred in Jzadirune.

My plans for Occipitus is that it was a celestial stronghold on Shavarath, the Battleground. Adimarchus led his horde here, but rather than letting it fall to the demon horde the celestials caused it to tear away from Shavarath and form its own plane.

I am placing Skullrot on the plane of Dolurrh, the Realms of the Dead. I will probably make the Cagewright's plan coincide with Dolurrh being coterminus to Eberron. Could make for some interesting results if any PCs die and are subsequently raised/resurrected.

I am still working on the religion aspect. More than likely, Jenya will become a cleric of the Silver Flame. The others I'm still working on. What I do like about this is the fact of corruption within churches in Eberron. I can make Embril and the other former Wee Jas clerics worship a good deity or pantheon (I was thinking the Soverign Host pantheon) but have their corruption build as the campaign advances.

Finally, I plan to replace the half-orc mercenaries with warforged. I will also find somewhere to insert a warforged titan to battle the PCs.
