One of my players decided she would like to play an archeologist. Which, considering the amount of ruins and abandoned haunts littered arround the adventure path, is pretty good news for me.
Thing is, so much of the stuff is littered throughout the adventures it's pretty hard to figure out what happened when. Here's what I've pieced together sofar. Feel free to add or comment.
ps: I'm not allways sure about the order of events. I've left dates blank if I'm not sure of a ballpark year, which looking over the timeline is pretty much everything.

I'm about to start playing the adventure path soon!A timeline would be great for me, anyone have any ideas on how old Cauldron is, or how long the Lord Mayor has been in office?
cauldron was founded some time after redgourge. Probably 700 years ago, although te adventure path does not give a specific date (or even ballpark).
There is no official word out on the lord-mayor. He should be pretty experienced and well connected by the time the adventure path starts. I would say about 8 years, giev or take.
I have a question that goes along with the time-line idea, where does everyone set Cauldron in their campaigns? I am using the Greyhawk default setting, and the Adventure Path isn't specific about where Cauldron is except to say that it is a real frontier town, 200 miles north of Sasserine (Flood Season) and in later adventures it mentions it is far to the south. I have decided on the Little Hills in the Yeomanry League. This is kinda important because the Laughing League is taking the currency of the local Kingdom and defacing it, and my players always like ask questions about those kind of details.
How do you guys suppose Nabatharon is involved with the overarching plot? I mean a demon running lose in a plot that involves all sort of lower planar lowlife kind of begs the question doesn't it? How did you guys handle it?

Well, since nobody's jumping in with researched information, I'm going to start tossing some thoughts of my own. Please hollar if something contradicts a known fact.
Destruction of the Spellweaver Empire: -1,300 years
End of the Kopru presence in Cauldron: -940 years
Creation of the Demonscar: -790 years (1)
Arrival of Orbius Vhalantru: -40 years (2)
(1): Placing it soon after the founding of Redgorge suggests an "early years" crisis for the town to contend with...the formation of something like that nearby. It can add some depth to the city's founding.
(2): I don't recall Beholders as having exceptionally long lifespans, so unless there's in-story material to suggest that he was in the area when Hookface was last out and about, I'd feel better placing him within the last couple of generations.
To that, I'd also like to add a few more timeline quandries:
The creation of Adimarchus' plane, as it exists today
Adimarchus' imprisonment
The destruction of the Yuan-Ti city
The terms of office of the last 3 Lord Mayors prior to "Orbius", and which factions they belonged to, if any.
The creation of Adimarchus' plane: I wouldn't date that. Probably better if we just leave it at 'a long time ago, even by immortal reconing.'
Adimarchus' imprisonment: This happened about 50 years ago, if I recall the last installment of the AP correctly. The 50 or so years before that, Adimarchus and Athux where an item. Perhaps one (or both) of these events could be linked to the vanishing in Jzadirune?
As for Shatterhorn... I'm not sure, but it could have happened as recent as 100 years ago. Maybe even earlier.
I'm curious about the spellweavers. How did you get to that date? Not that there's anything wrong with it. It sounds about right as a matter of fact.

Bear in mind that IMC, the Spellweavers are important on another level. I'm running the Adventure Path as part of a larger "stargate" styled campaign, with the Ethergaunts cast in the role of the Goa'uld and the Spellweavers being the "ancient portal builders" that aren't around anymore.
