Evil schemes are afoot in Cauldron, a metropolis of merchants built into the caldera of a long-dormant volcano. To foil the agenda of evil cultists, your band of adventurers must brave haunted jungle ruins, slay mighty dragons, and bind themselves to a layer of the infinite Abyss. Will their swords and spells be enough to save the Shackled City?

Originally published as 11 linked adventures in the award-winning Dungeon magazine, the Shackled City Adventure Path is the most ambitious official Dungeons & Dragons campaign ever created. Now, for the first time ever, everything you need to play the campaign has been compiled into a deluxe 416-page full-color hardcover that also includes an 8-panel fully detailed map of the City of Cauldron, a 12-page full-color map and illustration booklet, and a brand new Shackled City adventure written by fan favorite author Christopher Perkins.

Specs: 416-page, full-color hardbound book; 8 3/8" x 10 7/8"

Check out Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 of our design diary from Erik Mona, James Jacobs and Sean Glenn. You can also download a preview of the introduction, including the table of contents, and another of a statblock page showing NPC progression throughout the campaign. The player handouts are now available for download, too. Or join the buzz on our Shackled City messageboard forum.

It's worth your money

What I can say besides what have already been said? It really worth your money. before complaining for its price, please think about how many hours of fun it will provide you. Then you realice how cheap it can be.

Money Well Spent

It seems impossible not to get your moneys' worth out of the SCAP hardcover. Each and every week my players and I are excited to play, and find another facet of Cauldron to explore.

Regardless of whether or not you play the adventures 'by the book' there remains a wealth of information a DM can use. The book contains maps, ideas, NPCs, new monsters, new feats, new spells, new prestige classes, the stat blocks for villains, and 12 adventures that cover the gamut from 1st level to 20th.

If you can't scavenge anything in this book to spark your imagination or use something for your own campaign, you're either illiterate or lazy.

This is definitely a worthwhile investment for anybody who loves playing Dungeons and Dragons!

A most complete campaign

The twelve adventures in this hardback version string together beautifully to make a whole campaign. The story is excellent, the dungeons deadly and the villains really nasty.

The hardcover contains extra goodies that were not in the magazine versions.

For a start there is the extra adventure, Drakthar's Way, which although quite short does bridge the gap between chapters 1 and 3 very well. It also has some foreshadowing of future events to tease your players with and increase their sense of versimilitude.

Also new to the hardback are some beautiful NPC portraits. They have proved to be excellent character forming handouts for my players.

One big difference is that the hardcover is designed for six players as opposed to the magazines four.

There are many other extra things included as well, often just where you need them to be. Some are brand new, some are taken from the previous web supplements.

I dropped mine in the bath, it dried out okay and is perfectly readable and usable but it's such a sexy and well presented product that I felt bad enough about it to purchase a new one.

I definitely be buying the Age of Worms if it comes out in hardback. Although I have all the magazines it's much easier to carry a single book around!

Excellent quality product.

If there is only one suggestion I could have made, I would have liked to have seen a CD included with the art work on it for DMs making Campaign newsletters etc etc Other than that This IS THE BAR. WOTC should look at you guys as how to properly make adventures. I thought City of the spider queen was epic until I saw this baby....this blows that adventure away by miles....you guys have really raised the bar in the industry as a whole...ALL I CAN SAY IS SIGN ME UP ON THE PREORDER for the AGE OF WORMS ADVENTRUE PATH Hardback....This will keep any gaming group busy for MANY MANY months....if not at least a year or more.

One of the BEST

I have read and now am running this adventure path in two different groups, and love it. I was ready to run the campaign from the magazines until I heard that this book was on its way. My players are having the time of their lives (and deaths). This is a MUST HAVE. I can't wait for Age of Worms to do this. I am set for my D and D games for a long time to come.

Worth every penny and more

This book is undoubtedly the BEST accessory D&D product in my entire collection of 30 D&D books.

Amazing work!

This book is well made and well thought of. I can only say that it is a magnificent adventure that will keep us playing for a year at least! Then what? We will get the Age of Worms adventure path that hopefully comes out in the same hardcover version.

Thank you for all who made this book!

All That and a Bag of Chips

This book is well worth the price. All pages are colour and the story line is rich and flexable. Don't think twice about picking it up! With all the dribble that Wizards has been punching out Paizo comes along and shows them what a quality product is! My players are jacked up for every session we get together to play this. The maps are beautiful and the interior artwork is stunning.
