What is more important... God or her creation? Eoris Essence is a high-fantasy, profoundly philosophical and psychological world in which a celestial event—The Black Howling—may bring about the end of time, confronting our devotion to God to our need to live. The Eoris Essence taps into the success-based Essence System which uses 20-sided dice, a fast-paced combat mechanic, and an intuitive set of rules.

Has anyone played this?? It looks beautiful. Pricey, yes.. but I think you get two books for that. Lots of info.. Can anyone that has this review it so I know whether to buy? THanks!!

Dark Archive

I am curious about it too, but thats way outside my budget sadly.

True. Extremely expensive for something that looks interesting.
I've seen many posts on it on various forums, & the character sheets (lots of dots, but I'm not someone who is bugged by that in comparison with people that seem to loathe it on some threads).
Reading more indepth threads reveals that it sounds like it could be a good "any setting" system. Very open. (Race creator)
I may be getting it & if I do (in the next few months..) I'll throw a review up.

Thats cool, I hope you enjoy it and can get us a review up. I would be interested in knowing more about it, from someone that bought it.

There is a used copy on Ebay for 45$ ATM.

Liberty's Edge

I've read through the demo and the concept seems real interesting and worth trying, and I really like the story line. I'm concerned about follow through though. How long is it going to take them to bring out supporting adventures and expansions? And at what cost? It's a fair chunk of change to spend on something that is as yet, a little uncertain for me.

Now in all fairness, their website states that they currently have two individuals working on an expansion and they mention a tri-monthly virtual magazine that I haven't seen yet, but am looking forward to. The art that I have seen in this game is phenomenal and it would be easy to lose oneself in it.

My hold back is that I want to see a little more before I'm willing invest in another system.

I look forward to hearing your review Tibibe Nanba.

Alright, got this. It is a beautiful game. 2 books, one is a history lesson, literaly. College history type history lesson; mind you this is not a complaint. It is a very rich background and storyline. I took notes.

The system is REALLY well done, very close two White Wolfs storytelling system but with all the things you wish you could do...create creatures.
Got any specific questions and I will answer without being as vague as some can get, but without posting the book.

Hey, sorry to necro but I'd love to hear if you have a general overview & comparison you can give of this book. You mention White Wolf - is it similar just because of the dots?

How is character creation compared with other systems. Limiting or able to make a player's vision of a character?
Would this work in any setting? Or is it very setting specific?
Thanks so much!!

I'm sorry I haven't even purchased the book. I was sidetracked by Mystic Empyrean, Eclipse Phase, Into Dreams, & Strands of Fate!! & I moved to NYC in November haha.

It says this was discontinued by the manufacturer. Has Eoris Essence died?

Dont know if the product lives or not, but the writer is back up on FB/blog. He has stated that he is coming out with a supplement for Eoris to clarify and add to the setting/rules.

It is true, the autor is working again, and has announced new supplements. Also he has announced that the books are going to be available in pdf format in the future.
