Brilliant set of cards!

Ok, first of all, I don't play Pathfinder AP's, I play in my own home-made campaign in the world of Greyhawk. That being said, these cards are awesome! I like the artwork, the descriptions, the style. I would have preferred (goes for all sets) less wands and staves, but apart from that, excellent stuff. Really great to hand out! Love them :-)

Weird but not bad

I can understand people's complaints that some of the items look "puffy" but frankly i like this set for the most part. I mean, it was advertised as containing weird alien items and whatnot. It kind of stands to reason that the items contained within would look pretty weird. The demonic plate is totally out there, the robe is pretty stylish, and the tentacle wand is pretty freakin' creepy. I admit that Lukac's style may not be all that well suited to mundane items, but I wouldn't mind seeing his weirder stuff in another set. It'd be nice to have a break from the more standard fantasy fare.

A VERY underrated set.

I held off on this deck based on the bad reviews, even though I could not see the problem people were talking about on the sample cards.
I'm glad I finally got this one! The art is GREAT and I don't see any "blurry" -ness.
This set is at least as good as any of the others. I can see using many of these items as Drow weapons & armor, but they really could fit as any exotic or stylized equipment.
The sample cards shown do not do this deck justice. Paizo should post several more sample images from this deck and let buyers judge for themselves.
I'm still baffled by the poor reviews.

Also: the Holy Symbols in this set are Cayden Cailean & Calistria.

Very much lacking.

Artwork was blurry, for one. That would be excusable if these cards were actual representations of the items found in Second Darkness, instead of blank ones. Love the AP but you can definitely skip this product.

;/

I don't like this artwork..it's a bit blurred and somehow a bit naive
AND the cards are in no obvious order

Didn't like this one so much

Wrong Turn

The cards are a bit blurry, the quality of the art is not as high as from other sets and most disturbing and frustrating is that the set is no longer in the order that other sets have been laid out in and they are no longer in alphabetical order making it very difficult to find what you’re looking for (especially when your in the middle of a session). I'm not sure what prompted these changes but it's definitely for the worse. I hope to see these issues fixed going forward.

Really Like this One

While I like the art in the other sets, I very much like the art in this set as well. I hesitated picking it up based on the reviews, but I saw the hand crossbow on the box cover, thought it looked quite fine and decided to risk it. I'm glad I did. There are lots of interesting items in the deck. The Full Plate Mail is wild looking. The Robes are quite appealing - wouldn't mind wearing that myself. Overall I'm quite pleased and glad that I didn't let the other reviews keep me from picking up this set.

Not as good!!!!!!!

OK - I am a long time fan of the Game Mastery Item Cards. I have literally hundreds and hundreds of them. When I opened this Second Darkness pack it was the very first time I had the "WTF is this?" reaction.

These cards ARE "puffy" and "fuzzy" and everything else people have said about them.

If this represents the future of Item Cards, then count me out!!!

What goes where?

OK, I have long used item cards and love them. They are a fantastic way to hand out treasure without it being identified and a great way to track potion usage etc. Makes my life as a GM so much simpler as once i hand out the card the responsibility is the players (they always note on the back where they found it, if they can't identify it soon).

This is the first time i have used a set along with the Adventure Path it was designed for and i was dismayed to realize there is no quick key for which items go where in the AP. WIth 6 adventures to pour through, it would be a great help to have a simple cheat sheet with card #, Adventure & page #. This would be a simple fix that would make a great product even better!

PS - The entire collection could use more bracers, boots, slippers etc. - lots of common magic items that i end up making cards for - and yours look a LOT better!!!!!

Nice selection of items, but I've grown to really like Vincent Dutrait's work as well... kinda' like when somebody other than WAR did the cover of the last Eberron book. The drawings all look a little puffy. Will this be the Item Card artist from now on, or will we be seeing a variety of artists, or was Vincent just unavailable for this one but will be back for the rest? (I'm hoping for the latter.)
