Good value

It offers what it promises, but nothing more.

The tiles are sturdy (a plus considering the much thinner Game Mastery map packs) and beautiful and will get a lot of play in dungeons but... some more variety couldn't hurt.
If I want to lay a bunch of almost blank grey tiles next to each other, I'll buy a Flip Mat (keeps better in place). Of the many objects and effects, the magical effects and some special rooms (prison, laboratory, ...) will come in handy. Flat tiles with doors etc on them are wasted on me because I use vertical doors (trusty HeroQuest) in my games.

The box itself is printed and can carry a lot of the expansions once you get rid of the (useless)inlay.

I hear there are a lot of reprints here but since I don't own the originals that doesn't bother me. I' even glad I get them here, since tracking the originals would cost me a lot of $$$$. Added value!

Conclusion: you get a LOT for your hard earned cash, and the printed box makes an excellent extra for adding volume or another floor to your dungeon. But some variety would've been nice though (hence 4 stars instead of 5).

A wonderfully priced and packaged assortment

Just picked up this from my FLGS.

The box is jacketed in a cardstock sheath which is strong enough to be reused to protect the nicely designed box which is printed both top and bottom with a gray stone grid, making each piece of the box a large blank room. As an added bonus, the sides of the box are printed with columns and gray stone walls, giving the ability to show dimension to the dungeon.

There are ten nice thick cardstock cards inside printed double-sided with various bits of scenery, from portions large enough to be a small chamber (one section even checked to work as a chessboard) to small bits of decor. Some of this I expect will get more use than others. For example, I will likely use the well tile a lot for wells, magic pools, or even city fountains, whereas the desecrated crypt is neat but far more specialized.

Combined with a flip mat, this set offers even more options.

As I understand, this set is all or mostly reprints of previous dungeon tile sets, but if you own none of them, this is an excellent first set to get.

There's a cardboard cradle inside the box to hold the ten sheets securely but it could be removed to fit additional sets into the box.

The finish on the cards is nice and looks to be water resistant but not waterproof. Not something to be used with erasable markers, but able to withstand large amounts of play and even the occasional accidental droplet of liquid.

All in all, a really pleasant set.
