Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk is a 224-page D&D super-adventure that revisits Castle Greyhawk and the classic dungeon beneath. This adventure is usable as a mini-campaign on its own, a story arc in a Dungeon Master's regular campaign, or as a series of small side adventures with a big payoff. Like other adventures in the "Expedition" series, this product takes a classic Dungeons & Dragons location, updates it for D&D v.3.5, and incorporates many new twists and surprises. This adventure also includes useful source material for the players and a combat encounter format designed to make the DM's job easier.

A Dungeons & Dragons super-adventure for characters of levels 8–13

FullStarFullStarFullStarFullStarFullStar Only reason it got 5 stars is because I can't give it 6...
Reviewer: kikai13

This is far and away the best adventure put out since the wotc takeover of TSR and, despite the delve format, would even give the top adventures of the olden days a run for their money. My only complaint is that it won't fit into my current Greyhawk campaign, which is probably not going to end for another year or so. Therefore, I won't be able to run it for a while! I wanna run it right now!!

FullStarFullStarFullStarFullStarFullStar Masterful research and authorship
Reviewer: Kirth Gersen

Just got my (non-autographed) copy, and immediately read through it with the fervor of a kid at Christmas. It's like a survey course of Castle Greyhawk: you get snippets of what's come before (god prisons, Courland, Isle of the Ape, a number of the iconic locations in WGR-1). Given the size restrictions, the authors did just about all they could to maintain continuity between Gygax's conception and Mobley and Brown's; 5 well-earned stars for that.

EDIT: I despised the "delve" format immediately upon seeing it, but it's proved a blessing with this adventure. Encounters are well thought-out and tactically challenging; even slaughtering a bunch of orcs or hobgoblins is fun, given the terrain setups for some of them. Kudos all around.

FullStarFullStarFullStarFullStarFullStar The Best 3.5 Adventure of all time
Reviewer: Pat Payne

All I can say is -- if you only get one 3.5 D&D module, this is the one to get. It is well-written, researched impeccably for Greyhawk flavor and just a treat for old-school gamers -- an all-around adventure in the great tradition of the old-school AD&D modules. A rare grand-slam, knock-it-out-of-the-park-and-into-the-next-county home run in a usual WoTC field of infield pop-flys. And, Robilar fans, rejoice! The mystery is solved! I'm chomping at the bit to DM this at my home table.
