a good map you can a-"ford" (ha ha, get it?)

Great, universal mat. Lush and beautiful, and very easy to see what everything is. I picked it up specifically for the early part of the first Jade Regent adventure path- which involves a lot of random encounters at bridges- but really, a bridge or river crossing encounter- be it ambush, problem solving challenge, or troll extortion shtick- comes up A LOT in fantasy role-playing, so you can definitely pick up this map in the firm knowledge it will get plenty of use. 5 stars!

gets the job done perfectly

This is exactly what you want for crossing/invovling a small bit of water in a forest setting. I esp like that on one side is a winding stream, the other a bridge crossing. Perfect for my needs and highly reusable.

This map is a personal favorite of mine. The river and/or bridge presents interesting encounter options, especially for ranged attacks, flying creatures, and bottle neck situations. Awesome colors and details.

Bridge on the river Die...

A beautiful rendition of a classic ambush site. Did I mention I love flip-mats?

My only real complaint is there is a too litte variation in the appearance of the surrounding trees -- it almost looks like chunks were "cut/rotated/pasted" (for all I know, they were).

As usual, I'd suggest starting your collection with a few that are blank on a side -- but this makes a great 3rd+ flip-mat. (****-)

Excellent quality map

The quality on this is amazing. I've used this a few times and it's not disappointed. One downside is it is situational but then most groups have river crossing encounters at some point in time.

If you were just getting one forest flip mat you probably want the 'woodlands' map, if are getting a few this one is top notch.

Why not? Beats Marker scrawl.

Useful affordable, certainly more compelling then your marker scrawl. Pulling this out for an encounter will make your players smile. (I smiled :P)

This is a decent one to get if you haven't grabbed any of the other flip mats. It's not that hard to fit an interesting river encounter into any campaign, and these mats are very likely something you'll be able to use more then once.

The art isn't jaw dropping, but their is a lot of variety in the stamps that were used. And anyway, what do you expect from the top of trees? If your on the fence about a flip mat, and don't have a specific setting in mind that you need, pick this one up.

Sadly, even though this item wasn't back ordered, it took 40 days to get to me. I emailed after a month to find out what the problem was, they were having difficulty getting 2 items on my 7 item order into into the warehouse to ship. Support was very polite and split my order so that the 5 items they'd had for the last month could be processed right away. (The items they were having trouble with weren't listed as backordered when I purchased them)

Great Map

I just received this and it's a real beauty. Nice and generic (no camps or specific rock formations). There's a proper wooden bridge on one side and on the other, the river curves and there's an impromptu crashed log and loose rock way to cross. Very nice.
