Welcome to the fifth expansion for The Ruined Town.

The Hill of the Haunting Spectre presents a detailed, scary location you can easily insert in your own campaign.

Perched atop a low, rocky hill, sits a crumbling old mansion said to be haunted by a ravenous spectre.

During the night, strange, flickering lights can be seen from the distance and the few men who dared to approach the scary place told a tale about cold whispers they heard in the foggy air surrounding the hill.

A path from the old Bones Road leads to the hilltop. On the left side of the path lies an old shepherd’s house. The house is almost destroyed but the old cattle fence is still up and seems to protect a spectral herd. Within the fence you can still see the old well and a giant stump said to be the meeting place of dark druids cabals.

On the hilltop the mansion seems almost destroyed. Most of the building collapsed due to an obscure event in the past. Part of the mansion is still up, and even a section of the second floor is currently accessible via a creaky wooden staircase. A broken fence surrounds the whole hilltop. A huge dead tree, called the hangman Tree overlooks all, even the old windmill.

Within the fence you can find a well, a stable, a warehouse and a small burial ground. Hidden behind thorny bushes there is a shrine consecrated to unknown deities and somewhere on the hillside there is a hidden entrance to the dungeon under the hill.

This product expands on a location found in 0one's Blueprints: The Ruined Town.

    Features:
  • "Rule the Dungeon" feature
  • Enhanced customization (doors and furniture are separate, for example)
  • Alternative hexagonal grid available
  • "North" mark available and orientable
  • Master control panel allows you to control all the maps at once
  • Buttons for printing only blue maps or black and white maps
  • NOTE: You must use Adobe Acrobat 6+ in order to use all the features of this product

The Blueprints product line offers you old-fashioned blueprint-style maps for your adventures and campaigns. Each map comes in a blueprint version and a standard black-and-white version. The maps are all vector-based for maximum print resolution. Despite their old-fashioned appearance, each map offers some degree of customization, using PDF technology at its best. A button (which will not be printed) on each map allows you to turn the grid on and off, eliminate the room numbers, fill in walls, hide doors and furniture, and many other options, depending on the map. Each 0one's Blueprints product features a classic fantasy adventure location: a dungeon, a keep, a temple complex, a thieves' guild and so on. You can use these maps as reference to build your own adventures or simply have them at hand in case your players go in an unexpected direction during the campaign.

While offering you the best quality, these products are really inexpensive.

An RPG Resource Review

This spooky offering presents a ruined hilltop mansion complete with outbuildings, and a tree with a bad reputation. The maps - in blue or black'n'white as usual - consist of a ground-level view of the hilltop complete with the outbuildings (a shed, a windmill and the stables) and other features, the upper storey view of just the house and windmill, a rooftop view, the dungeon complex beneath and something rather puzzlingly called 'Hillfeet' - this is apparently the base of the hill on which the rest stands, and includes the entrance to the underground complex. As well as the buildings, the hilltop complex includes a burial ground, a well and the remains of a shrine; while the base of the hill has a cottage and some more ruined buildings.

As usual, just what did go on here and what will happen if the characters venture in is left to you, but there are so many nooks and crannies and interesting bits that ideas just start to flow when you look at it all. The usual technical wizardry is apparent, with the ability to alter various settings before you print out. Just the place to run that ghost story...
