Well-written (read it from cover to cover) and very good art. People will complain there are no rules, but the book never advertised as such. It is a preview, and a very interesting look 'behind-the-scenes' into the designers ideas and reasons. A decent pick-up, but loses a star for price.
I can't believe WotC put this dribble up for purchase! I luckily received a handed down (3 levels) copy of this to read. This is stuff that should be posted for free! I can't believe people are willing to pay for a book that should be called "How I Wrote This Other Book". Not one drop of useable information between the covers.
If you actually buy this don’t tell your friends. We have proceeded to harass the original purchaser and I put a motion to ban him from playing until he went on a quest and found a cleric of some money-management god(dess) to cast an atonement spell for him (in the real world).
I hope I save at least one person their $18 so they can purchase another, more useful product from Paiso

I bought it for the artwork if nothing else. Stunning. Also I found the writers perspectives and thought processes behind 4E to be very interesting.

But was it worth the price tag?
My reaction from what I've heard suggests its better than the last preview book they released but does anyone know why they did this?
I'm wondering at the price of the Shadowfell adventure which is supposed to introduce 4e and its as exorbitant as these previews...

Dungeon Survival Guide? WTF was that but a Money grab A book where they praise and tell you how to survive these classic adventures of broken systems of early D&D? Once 4e is out I'm sure we'll see books like-"Remember How Great 3.5 Was Guide" where they explore the awesomeness that was 3.5 :)
