In third edition, the character sheets were excellent quality four-page, class-specific and impossible to print out at home. What does fourth edition give you? Four two-page generic sheets, not worth any price. This should be a free PDF download. Also, Wizards falsely claimed that it was 32 pages, so it loses more points there.
Joe gamer buys this, chooses one of the two types of character sheets (the landscape one if he's smart, to save precious table space), fills it out along with nice color cardstock power cards. He's all set for his first character, plus he has a nice folder to keep DM handouts and whatnot. He can make copies of the duplicates. (Or two poor gamers can split this, or four really, though you'll run out of power cards at high levels).
This has nothing a decent printer and the work of many many fans on the internet can't reproduce. But that's pretty much true for all character sheets.
I went by my local game store to see if it was worth buying. I was VERY disappointed to see that it was pretty much what was in the PHB. No specialized sheets for each class. Just the same inadequate sheets from the PHB.
The cards for the powers are quite nice, but not worth the money, and if you make copies of them, you'll have pale imitations of the rather nice originals.
You're much better off getting home-made PDFs online... google for 4th Ed character sheets and you'll find several that are superior to the sheets made by WoC.
