To be honest, I'm still not sure whether I like this book or not. I debated long and hard over a 3 or 4 star rating, but in the end I gave it 4 stars due to one thing: this book is precisely what it purports to be. As stated above, an "unsettlingly detailed look at the malevolent serpentfolk, etc." Lots of monsters (some ridiculously powerful) and lots of feats (mostly useless to players of PC races). There a few magic items, some spells, and an in-depth look at the regions of Faerun under the influence of Scaled Ones. The price per page of this book is about 0.16, slightly better than average. If you're interested in the subject matter, then this book is for you. If not, then you'd be better off waiting and adding this only to round out your collection after purchasing more useful supplements.
