The 12 inch Anubis, God of the Dead Plush is made of beautiful fabric and filled with plush and beanies.
Anubis, god of the dead is represented as a jackal-headed god, or simply as a full jackal. Jackals are dog-like scavengers that wander through the arid regions, always in search of meal opportunities. Anubis resided over embalmments, and after the funeral, he would lead the deceased by the hand and introduce him into the presence of the judges where the soul of the deceased would be judged. Anubis was the guardian of offerings
brought to the ceremony, and also guarded the mummy from evil forces in the night. Jackals were known to wander around the Necropolis (city of the dead) at night, thus giving birth to the
origin of Anubis-god of the dead. The name "Anubis" is the Greek rendering of the Egyptian "Anpu".

Very well made plush. He's taller than I expected (even though it says 12' right in the ad, he's very skinny, so it looks like the toy is huge). The Ankh is detachable (with a little piece of velco), so be careful your pet doesn’t wander off and choke on it. This Anubis plush comes with a (surprisingly sturdy) hanging hook attached to the top of his head, and arrived dust-proof plastic bagged. He has a few pieces of lacquered-felt clothing and glued inset gems, so I’d be leery of very small children, but I think this toy will be perfect for my son when he gets just a little older. Would also look great on a desk at work.

Any word on availability of these? Still trying to decide how I feel about my son cuddling up with Anubis at night, but hey, this thing is mega cool.

They are pretty much out of stock, but I found a couple with another distributor and will see if we can put in an order in the next day or two. This distributor is on the east coast, so it takes about six days to get to us. So hopefully, we can have these in stock in time for Christmas.

I'm speechless (if only that rang of truth).
"When my people come to colonize this planet, you will be on the protected rolls, and no harm will come to you."
I just put in an order for about $70 this morning, but such unbelievable service is worth paying the shipping on a second order of just the plushie. Besides, I think Drew will enjoy chewing on the Ankh. Thanks muchly!
