Much cooler than your regular fuzzy dice - goes nicely with my new wheels. So far, I haven't had any issues with discoloration, but it's winter time here - we'll see how it handles under the sun.
I bought a pair at PAX for my boyfriend.
He was all giggles and smiles when I gave them to him, and they now hang on his rear view mirror..
Where they are played with often. :)
for basic fun and/or silly value, I give it an 11 out of 10!
Wish they came in more colours.
So: +5 for awesome, silly, fun geekness
-1 penalty for lack of colour selection
Unlike the previous review, my string broke AT the die on both ends. It broke so close to the dice that there was no way to reattach it.
The string that holds the dice dangler together isnt UV resistant. After a couple of months, it dropped of my mirror. When I tried to retie the string, it literally disintegrated wherever I tried to pick it up. I eventually fixed this by running some paper clips into the d20's and attaching a UV stable strong to the clips, but the people who made it should have thought this far ahead before hand.
The first thing you should know about these d20s is that they're smaller than standard dangling dice, maybe 3-4 inches in diameter. I was expecting larger dice, and was somewhat dissapointed at their size. To be fair, if they were much larger they might block my view out the windshield. Still, you should consider this fact when buying. Also, they aren't as icosahedral in reality as they are in that picture; they're probably closer to spherical. But I guess you can't expect plush to really retain the exact shape, especially after shipment. Anyway, they're still a great way to make your car say "I'm a complete geek and I'm tacky too." Which is exactly why I bought them.
