Summon the laughter with the most critically acclaimed gaming movie ever made.

Gamers, which won Best Professional Film at Gen Con 2006, has been profiled by CNN, ABC, Yahoo, The Hollywood Reporter, Computer Games Magazine, Spike TV, Tips and Tricks Magazine, G4 Media, and Starz Cable Channel. It features an all-star celebrity cast including Kelly LeBrock (Weird Science), Beverly D'Angelo (National Lampoon's Vacation), John Heard (Home Alone), William Katt (The Greatest American Hero) and Michael Bell (E! True Hollywood Story) and many more.

For the last 23 years, a group of friends have lived life to the fullest... in the fantasy world. Obsessed with a roleplaying game called Demons, Nymphs & Dragons, these gamers are the subject of this hilarious comedy which chronicles their journey to make it through their horrendous lives while attempting to break a world record by roleplaying over 74,558 hours.

"The movie is sharp and witty, and sort of slams Spinal Tap into Office Space, with an episode of Family Guy stuck in the middle."
     —Ian Bonds of www.QuickStopEntertainment.com

"Five out of five stars. Earns more Experience Points than ten Happy Madison Productions."
     —Eric Childress of www.efilmcritic.com

"Gamers has a twisted sense of humor... Fun stuff."
     —Scott Weinberg of www.dvdtalk.com

FullStarFullStarFullStarFullStarFullStar Wretched, the horror, the horror, ...
Reviewer: DrGames

Cool idea, but the actual product was terrible.

I don't want to give any spoilers in the review, but the essence is that a series of socio-pathic, maladjusted losers also just happen to be a gaming group.

Probably the worst depiction of gamers that I have seen since the Dark Dungeon cartoons.

The show made me squirm with discomfort.

Additionally, the pacing was glacial.

The guys sitting around the table should have been institutionalized, not out in society and throwing dice around a gaming table.

Plus, the "surprise revelation" at the end of the movie indicating that everything in the movie to that point was a psychotic lie was like being drowned in manure AFTER you THOUGHT that you had escaped with your life.

Don't even bother to watch this let alone buy it.

Ok, I'm one to, at most times say, that we all have our own opinions and that we should make/establish our own opinions based off of our own experiences, not someone elses ...this being said of course, please do not waste your money on this movie/DVD. This is by no means, in my opinion, worth it. An F minus, a zero out of a hundred %.... get my point. I wouldn't even give this flick a full star. Please, heed this and do not waste your money.

Abysmal, unpleasant, and mean-spirited. It paints gamers as pathetic and phsyco and cruel to one another. The byline of "unapologetic" is certainly needed since the vein of humor runs along having a African-American seamstress design an "authentic wizard's robe" that looks like a KKK hood and cloak served up along with never ending gay jokes, gay slurs and swearing. Higher production values don't make up for what's not right about this film.

Reviewer: Kevin B.

I'll be the first to admit that "The Gamers" (by Dead Gentlemen Productions) is, far and away, my favorite 'gamer film'. That being said, I think that, just like with any other new movie genre, you're bound to dislike a film if you compare it to the one that "blazes the trail". Especially, if that film happens to be one as humorous as "The Gamers".

I fully believe that the reason why "Blade Runner" did so poorly in the box office when it originally debuted, was because folks were of the mind, "Hmm...Harrison Ford? Science fiction movie? This is gonna be like 'Star Wars'! Alright!!" Of course now, both fan and movie critic alike, view "Blade Runner" as one of the most deeply provocative and classic sci-fi flicks of all time and a definite 'must see'!

So my advice is to not compare “Gamers” to “The Gamers”. They’re not the same film and I really don’t believe they were meant to be. Yes, from a strictly humorous standpoint, “The Gamers” beats all other ‘gamer flicks’ out there (which isn’t many) hands down. However, this doesn’t mean that “Gamers” is without merit and won’t provide you with almost an hour and a half of viewing enjoyment and laughs. I mean, C’mon…Your bound to hear more than a few chuckles when a guy stuffs beef jerky down his pants and dry humps it while saying, “Jerky, bi#%*!” and then serves it up at the gaming table! Or another guy gives his gaming buddy a huge quilt with the names of all of his own characters he got killed by being such a crappy gamer, and the names fill up both sides of the quilt!

Anyways, all I can say is, a review (even the one you’re reading right now) is just someone else’s opinion and you’re never truly going to know if you’re going to enjoy a film unless you see it for yourself. If I went by what the critics wrote about “Blade Runner”, I never would’ve went to see it when it first came out. Thank God, I decided to listen to my gut!

FullStarFullStarFullStarFullStarFullStar Closest you'll get to a "real" gaming comedy
Reviewer: buzz

While not a great move, "Gamers" is a pretty good movie, for a zero-budget comedy about RPG'ing. It's certainly a cut above what Dead Gentlemen do (not to knock them, but c'mon). Real actors (besides the genuinely famous people, you can see one of the principal actors as the bartender on CBS's "How I Met Your Mother"), a real script, competent cinematography. It's certainly off-color and raunchy, and is really more a send up of the nerdy characters than gaming itself. I was amused, and would watch it again.

I love this movie.
It rocks.
This movie shows the great and wonderful world of gaming.
I love gaming and Gamers is a great movie.

FullStarFullStarFullStarFullStarFullStar Terrible waste of money
Reviewer: Chris Perry 40

Seriously... don't waste your money on this movie. The characters are very unlikable and I can't even think of one funny scene. I bought it thinking how much I loved "The Gamers" and "Dead Camper Lake", but this is nothing like those gems. Trust me: if you're a gamer, you'll hate it. If you're not a gamer, what are you doing at paizo.com?

FullStarFullStarFullStarFullStarFullStar Some funny moments
Reviewer: farewell2kings

I guess you're obligated to buy this movie if you're a gamer, since it mentions RPGs, but overall it isn't all that funny. There are some funny parts, but I recommend that if you buy this movie, don't watch it sober, or you'll be pretty disappointed.

Don't even think it compares to Dead Gentlemen's "The Gamers."

I edited this review because someone gave it 4 stars and 3 stars? What planet do these people live on??? The movie blows, not quite as bad as the original D&D movie, but almost!!!
