The 208-page core rulebook explores the wilder side of the Iron Kingdoms. Information regarding the 4 factions, the models, the history—it's all here. Take control of a powerful warlock and wreak havoc on your foes with a horde of hulking warbeasts fueled by unbridled rage. In HORDES, only the strongest, fastest, and most cunning will survive, while the rest are a feast served up for your warbeasts. In these conflicts it's survival of the fittest, so bring the hurt or head for the hills!
I bought this through a deal on Paizo (thanks guys) for a pittance, and it rocks. The art is beautiful, the imagery grandiose, and the writing is superb. Each chapter is introduced in various ways by a member of one of the warring races; often describing a battle in all of its graphic grotesque detail. The writing is very real, and feeling empathy for one of the charactors is easy to do as they describe their plight. If you buy the book before specifying a race, it will assist in what race you wish to portray as you play Hordes, doing so after choosing a race makes one say "... should have chose them, no should have chose them, no them!" Get the book, choose a race. Rules are similar to WarMachines, but do a spiral involving some aspects including Spirit, Mental, and Physical. The controllers are also different, not exactly Warlocks, but not so different either.
