Do you want to be a better Game Master?

Do you want to run a game your players call exciting, well organized and fast-paced?

Face it. Being the DM is hard work. It's up to YOU to keep combat fast and exciting. It's up to YOU to have instant, encyclopedic knowledge of the rules. It's up to YOU to be prepared each and every game session.

How would you like an assistant at your side each game session to keep you organized, help run the game smoothly and make your combats fast and exciting?

DM's Familiar is the Answer!

DM's Familiar focuses on 3 important areas: Combat Management, Reference Library, and Codex Tree.

  • Combat Management
The Combat Manager in DM's Familiar handles all of the nitty-gritty details of 3E combat and will give you much faster and more exciting combat. The Combat Manager rolls initiatives, keeps track of who's turn it is, makes attack and damage rolls for the monsters, and much more.
  • Reference Library
The Reference Library of DM's Familiar puts all of the rules of the game at your fingertips. No more lugging all of those books to each game session. No more wondering what book a particular feat is in. Your game will run smooth and fast with DM's Familiar Reference Library.
  • Codex Tree
The Codex Tree of DM's Familiar is a word-processing and outline tool that will keep your game incredibly organized. Campaign notes, adventure outlines, world histories; you'll have them all at your fingertips, easily and quickly.
    DM's Familiar is also:
  • Easy to Use: DM's Familiar was designed from the start to be as easy as possible to use. Entering data in DM's Familiar is done on standard, simple data entry screens. You just type in what you want. There's no complicated scripting tool or programming language that you'll have to learn.
  • Fast to Use: DM's Familiar will help you run the game faster. Everything is designed to be done with 1 or 2 mouse clicks. To make an attack, you click one button. You don't have to open multiple screens and click multiple options to get things done.
  • Flexible: DM's Familiar will help you run the game the way you want to run it. Features you don't want to use will not be in your way. DM's Familiar will never force you to roll dice on the computer if you don't want to.

Lamest program I purchased

First off from all the reviews I read the program would add so much to my game. So like a idiot I purchased it rather than try the free program. From the moment I installed it was going to give me problems having little to no help I muddled through with it learning how the program worked. After three hours I learned the game was a little more than a glorified book holder. If anything it made my dming in my game harder and provided nothing to the experience.

After speaking to the owner of the program who basically shrugged when I explained my reasons I gave up. So in closing if you're ever considering purchasing a game program to help you out take it from me THIS isn't it. You can find at least two on google for free that do twice the job and did I mention free?

Great Program

I have used DM's Familiar for years now and found it to be one of the best out there. It’s highly adaptable to any D20 system on the market.

As a DM it makes it much easier to manage the number crunching and data tracking required in the D20 system. Because of that I can focus on story telling and "role" playing.

Todd does a great job of getting back to you with technical issues and has helped me re-up my license numerous times due to multiple new computers.

DM's Familiar has become an integral part of my RPG life.

6 stars are not available so I had to give it 5.

LOVE it

I bought DMF about 5 years ago! I use it every game. I love it. It has made my DMing job so much easier. It does as much or as little as a DM wants it to.

I use mine to roll initiative for everyone, places everyone in order, and I roll all attacks, saves, skills, and damage for all NPCs and critters at a click.

Not to mention it has all the core rules avaialbe via a search function.

Easy to use, great support with their yahoo messagegroups, and Todd really cares about fixing problems.

And...he's a pretty darn good DM, too.
